Hawaii may be beautiful, but it is run by psychotic, left-wing pantywaists. They’ve got insane restrictions, mandatory testing, and the unvaccinated need to quarantine for 10 days before they can start their “vacation.” Paradise, my ass, and that may be why two folks tried to fake their way in.
Norbert Chung, 57, and Trevor Chung, 19, were arrested Sunday at Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye Airport after violating the state’s Safe Travels program, which allows travelers from the U.S. and its territories to offer vaccine proof to bypass the state’s mandatory 10-day quarantine. Previously, all travelers, including vaccinated visitors, had to take a COVID test three days before departure to bypass quarantine.
The charges come with up to a year in jail and a $5000.00 fine “for falsifying vaccination cards.”
And get this, it’s wrecking their economy. No kidding, really?
During the April 2020-March 2021 period, the average unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) was 13.5 percent. Hawaii lost 130,400 non-agriculture payroll jobs during the April 2020-March 2021 period as compared with the same period a year ago. All industry sectors lost jobs except for federal government jobs.
Well, see, that’s your problem.
Visitor arrivals to the State during the first quarter of 2021 totaled 847,044, a decrease of 59.6 percent from the same quarter in 2020. However, due to the longer average length of stay, the average daily visitor census decreased only 51.6 percent in the first quarter of 2021.
Did you catch that? Due to longer average visitor stay…you bastards are forcing them to take a 10-day nonvacation before they can start their actual vacation. Of course, the stays are longer.
Granted, if you had to be confined to a hotel room for ten days – assuming it’s got a view, I could think of worse places to be detained. But I also get why people would try to fake their vaccination records to skip the mandatory confinement, but I wouldn’t recommend forging an official document.
It’s not going to end well, certainly not in a public-health terror state like Hawaii.
