GrokTV – Chris Christie dances a verbal jig over the Politico reporters word on This Week

I watch the Sunday shows (now that I have DVR capability back) so you don’t have to. I’ll tell you, Chris Christie (former NJ Governor and former Prez wannabe), was absolutely beside himself (no small order, that) and full of glee after the words of Politico’s Rachel Baid’s description of what would happen if the Democrats DO take over the House (as their dreams of taking over the Senate seemingly have set sail).  First, her words:

His gleeful response with advice to the GOP:

And you think that the MSM is fair and balanced about gun control? Bah! Cokie Roberts shoots that down.

On This Week with George Stephanopolous, the round table turned to gun control and politics.  Mary Matilan, a long term Republican political operative and strategists, said that she had just done something because of how the Progressives have poisoned the debate on guns.  While she is explaining, listen for the word “Good!”.  Yeah, listen to the nervous laughter over the attempt to cover up this “national TV gaffe”.

Cat out of the bag.

Peggy Noonan on recent gun sales explosion: “…and they also fear their Government.”

On “This week with George Stephanopolus”, Peggy Noonan said what I have been posting about here for a while.  If that angst has now trickled up to a nationally rated columnist and talking head on one of the top rated national political shows, that assures that there is a problem.  The gun sales are through the roof to the point of being almost unobtainable – and is finally getting noticed.  George asked Peggy Noonan the question:

Peggy Noonan, Newtown happened one month ago tomorrow.  We are going to see here from VP Joe Biden on Tuesday.  But we’ve been talking about this for the last few weeks on the program.  Every time I talk to a group of Senators, it does seem that there is a not a lot of sharing of the President’s sense of urgency on this issue.

Her response:

On Capitol Hill, you mean?  Look, guns are a very tough topic in America.  I do think that if the VP comes forward with some with his report on Tuesday that looks at the whole violence problem in a way that includes guns and extended magazines and such but how we also deal with the mentally ill in America and what to do if you have a 17 year old kid that appears to be unstable and violent?  There is a cultural angle to this, we all know what it is, we all go through the motions on this, we have for 25 years but a Democratic President addressing the cultural part of it this would be a little like Nixon to China.

If Biden has something to say that touches on all those things…

KRISTIN RUGGIERO GOES TO THE SUPREME COURT

“Liars are always ready to take oaths.” —Vittorio Alfieri

Fukken_Bitch.jpg

On Wednesday, September 21, The New Hampshire Supreme Court heard from Kristin Ruggiero. Kristin seeks to overturn her convictions arguing that the court should have excluded a photo of her cell phone number, and an intercepted telephone conversation that served as the evidence that brought her to her current demise.

Kristin Ruggiero was sent to Jail in May of 2010, convicted of twelve counts consisting of lying and falsifying physical evidence. Kristin had tried to do what many before her have done and gotten away with: Using the court system to exact a personal vendetta against her ex-husband Jeffrey Ruggiero.

In oral arguments before the Court, Attorney Mark L. Sisti argued that the evidence used to convict Kristin should have been thrown out because it was disqualified under N.H. RSA 570-A:6 because in New Hampshire, her consent was not obtained by the parties in South Carolina to make the intercept.  New Hampshire commonly referred to as a, “two party” state, requires consent of all parties before any recording may be made, while South Carolina does not. Sisti concedes that, while no crime may have been committed by the recording because the interception took place in South Carolina, A New Hampshire resident still has the expectation of privacy under the statute, and the evidence should have been excluded. Sisti essentially argues for an absolute long-arm immunity without consideration to laws of extra-territorial consequence. (Listen to the arguments HERE).

RINO OF THE WEEK REPORT

“Remember that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have.” ~Barry Goldwater

This week’s Rino of the Week Report is two days overdue. We have now moved into that area of RINO-dom where we are now looking at “RINO-esque” house votes versus overall house vote performance. Prior RINO-of-the Week selections were pretty clear.  Republicans adhering to the part platform were very easy to distinguish from those who ran as Republicans, yet vote consistently with liberals. Now we are in that area where the constituents must decide if the Rep voted “RINO? of if the Rep is a RINO overall. At any rate, ROTW will continue to decide who the RINO is for the present week and the constituents can decide the rest.

In this next shade of the RINO Report, we now examine some house members whose records may show adherence to the party platform, but go off the reservation on key social and fiscal issues like the budget, parental notification or important gun and self-defense bills. Those Republicans we will now focus on.

JOHN LYNCH: A STEADY LEADER…WHEN?

“Without initiative, leaders are simply workers in leadership positions.” Bo Bennett

Shrill_Kathy_Chronicals_Grok.jpg

In a letter to French Scientist Jean-Baptiste Le Roy in November of 1789, Benjamin Franklin quipped those ever long-enduring and famous words, “[B]ut in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes … ” It would appear Franklin had not contemplated the certainty of blow-hard political hacks and self-aggrandizing opportunists.

Upon Seeing the Union Leader Headline Tuesday, “Gov. Lynch will leave office very popular, and for good reason“, and who the author was,  predictable is the litany and diatribe that follows. And, with the whole and complete certainty of death and taxes, the “Shrill Kathy” hath delivered. In the 779-word bloviation, the “Shrill Kathy” delivered a mere 199 words extolling Lynch’s virtues and reserved the remaining 580 words for her usual and expected attack on Republicans, checkered with a contrast and comparison-like tone…Make no mistake about it…Lynch’s announcement, as with most other political events, is a mere pretext for her visera.

RINO OF THE WEEK REPORT

ROTW_GROK.jpg

“Remember that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have.” ~Barry Goldwater

The RINO of the week is three term House Representative David H. Kidder.  Representative Kidder’s voting record reveals a rank statist who consistently supports governmental intrusion into the lives of Granite State citizens. Like The previous RINO’s Alida Millham and Ken Gould,  Representative Kidder is an enthusiatic advocate of nanny-statism. A common theme of these RINOs is the propensity to wage war on the traditional in-tact family unit. Often referred to as “Rockefeller Republicans”,   David Kidder was ranked by the New Hampshire House Republican Alliance with a whopping score of 42%. Clearly, this is a demonstrated fealty to liberal-progressive principles.

  • Voted against HB 125 a law that would support the right of the Granite State to regulate firearms within its sovereign borders as a state;
  • ROTW_Kidder_07_15_11_GROKa.gif

  •  Voted against HB210, commonly referred to as, “Stand Your Ground” Which, “allows a person who is in any place where he or she has a right to be or reasonably believed he or she had a right to be to use deadly force to protect oneself.”
  •  Did Not vote on HB474 (2/15/11)Which would end Labor Union’s ability to compel non-union workers from paying agency fees as a condition of employment;
  •  Voted against CACR 9 affirming that parental rights are a natural right; “Provides that parents have the natural right to control the health, education, and welfare of their children.”
  •  Voted against HB519  A bill repealing the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative…a a cap-and-trade system that has raised electricity prices, created a slush fund for the member states, and has no impact on reducing emissions. So Kidder voted for a tax expansion and big government spending.
  •  Voted against HB329 The parental notification bill;
  •  Voted against HB147, the, “Kimberly Cates” Bill which expands the death penalty to murders committed during home invasions and burglaries.
  •  Voted against HB519  A bill repealing the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative…a a cap-and-trade system that has raised electricity prices, created a slush fund for the member states, and has no impact on reducing emissions. So Kidder voted for a tax expansion and big government spending.
