Needing an economic boost, President Barack Obama goes to the G20 Summit in Mexico…hat in hand…looking for some commitments  from the European Leaders, trying to land assurances that Europe is fomenting a plan to bolster markets and prevent Europe’s challenges from sucking the rest of the world into its’ economic abyss. Hypocritically, Comrade Obama pressed the Euro-socialist leaders to hasten economic demand,  while the Europeans want Obama to promise the United States won’t fiscally tank at the close of 2012.

EMail Doodlings – “You all owe me”

There are a few people with whom I converse with a lot – some agree with me all of the time, and some agree with me most (but not all) of the time.  This is from a gentleman that used to agree with me hardly at all (in the beginning) but now keeps seeing the actions rather than just passively listening to the words.    He complains (rightfully!) (emphasis mine):

Skip – twice in the last week I’ve heard comments about Social Security that made me realize how far apart our perceptions are.

The first was from an 82 yr old nurse, who bemoaned the fact she wasn’t part of a union and didn’t have a pension, and she was living off of SS and it just wasn’t enough.
Now I realize nurses aren’t treated the best, but I don’t understand why she feels we owe her a pension.  Yeah, she’s a democrat.

The 2nd is from a pastor who wants to convert the amt a congregation pays into his synod mandated pension, into cash so he can pay down his student loans.
Sounds reasonable, except when he was asked about cleaning out his pension and the penalties incurred, he was ambivalent and said not to worry – SS would be there for him.  And he didn’t want it counted as income – he just wanted the congregation to pay down  his loan directly (tax avoidance).  Ambivalent I understand – it wasn’t his money in the pension plan, and he wasn’t going without to plan for his retirement.  Typical pastoral attitude – he expects to be taken care of.  But just how smart is someone with a master’s degree and over $100K in loans, taking a career that pays $1K/wk?  His wife also has a master’s with over $100K in loans, and stays home with a newborn.Yeah, he’s a democrat.

I am under the (misguided?) impression that SS is there to keep old folks out of the food pantry lines, and volunteering at the food pantry instead, for as long as possible.
Never did I suspect it was intended as a retirement or pension plan.  My parents had a different take on money – 10% went to the church, 10% went to their parents, 10% went to savings, and the rest is what they lived off of.  And my parents weren’t Rockerfellers – my dad never made more than the “average” annual income. And yet my parents sent 4 kids to college.  hmmm

A socialist society is a selfish society – and as Government does more and more (notice that I did not say Society!), people expect and then demand more and more.  And in the Pastor example above, the worth of other peoples’ money and contributions become meaningless and of little worth because, well, it is EXPECTED.  Think of it this way – which is more appreciated?  Something that you know should be part of life, that has become “the norm”?  Or something that someone gives you out of the blue for little reason at all (and for the trifecta – something that you have actually had to go out and earn)?  My response:

HB 1403 Is Good Law For The International Baccalaureate Program

Jeffrey Beard, director general of the International Baccalaureate Organization writes today in our own local Union Leader. Mr. Beard extols IB virtues and advocates for schools to adopt an IB curriculum, while making a strong statement against House Bill 1403, Requiring a school curriculum and instruction to meet school approval standards only when the “curriculum and instruction promote state and national sovereignty … not subject to the governance of a foreign body or organization.(amended analysis from the bill)”

Last I remember, NH sent both Frank Guinta and Charlie Bass to CUT THE SPENDING.

Low expectations for Charlie on my part – am not enthused that he has failed to meet that height challenged standard.  For Frank, however, who campaigned hard with TEA Party constituencies, the bar was higher – MUCH higher.  Sigh….Today, I get to repeat my lament: why isn’t your name among the other Conservatives that voted against spending more?  Oh, to be sure, I got both eBlasts about H.R. 4628:

  • Charlie’s: Earlier today, the House passed, on a bipartisan vote, legislation to extend the current student loan interest rate of 3.4 percent for one year.  Without Congressional action, the rate would double on July 1st, making it even more difficult for students struggling to find jobs in such a weak economy to pay back their loans.  I strongly supported this fully-offset, fiscally-responsible legislation and hope the Senate moves on it as soon as possible.
  • Frank’s: Representative Frank Guinta (R, NH-01) today voted for the passage of H.R. 4628, the Interest Rate Reduction Act.  It would extend the current 3.4 percent rate for college undergraduate recipients of Federal Direct Stafford loans.  Without congressional action, that rate will double on July 1.  The bill was approved in a 215 to 195 vote.

I note with no small irony that Obama has recently visited over 120 colleges and universities.   My response concerning this out-and-out-pander vote back at Frank’s office (NH CD-2 is not my district and I’ve given up on Bass):

So, we’re taking money from a program that most of us want to kill, for which we had no money for it in the first place, to fund a program that Obama nationalized.

Lamb skylined himself back in February when he argued in favor of keeping Holderness in District 2 with Ashland and Plymouth, as opposed to moving it to district 3 with Moultonborough and Wolfeboro. Ashland and Plymouth? Democrat leaning…Moultonborough and Wolfeboro? not so much.

During the Republican Presidential Debates, Newt Gingrich referred to President Obama as the, “Food Stamp President.” That was last week. Yet, over two years ago, Wyatt Emmerich, Publisher for the Northside Sun based in Jackson, Mississippi posited an editorial where his underlying thesis was, “a one-parent family of three making $14,500 a year (minimum wage) has more disposable income than a family making $60,000 a year.”  (See Emmerich’s Editorial in its entirety, Here)

 On the face of it, I was perplexed why people were so up-in-arms about Gingrich’s suggestion. But then as I read on, I understood what the real issue was. Newt also said,

DCCC Annual “Ruin Thanksgiving” Cheat Sheet

Every Thanksgiving we can now expect the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) to do to your holiday what it has done to everything else it touches–ruin it. This year is no different.  They have once again equipped your obnoxious left-leaning relatives and friends with their very own palm-card.

The DCCC ‘cheat sheet,’ is a recurring feature (not unlike Irritated Bowel Syndrome) whose name the Free Republic correctly identified in 2009 as eponymous to the Party that produces it.  2012 is no exception.  This years Cheat is filled with cherry picked, out of context, tin-foil hat foolishness, spun and slanted as it strives to fulfill the maxim, the bigger the lie the more likely it is toTurkey be believed.  (If Yves Goyut was alive we could add these to his collection of Socialist Fallacies.)

Unfortunately for the progressives we are no longer forced to listen to their media narratives and the Cheat sheet only serves to clarify who not to invite to next years feast.

So without further ado, here it is. The Annual DCCC Turkey. 

Wait!  Same warning as last year.  Make sure you are not drinking anything while you read it.  You may start laughing and we don’t want to detour any beverages through your nasal cavities.  Eggnog comes to mind.  Not pretty.  Kind of like the 2012 DCCC Cheat Sheet.

By the way, the cheat sheet starts with some Democrat Majority ‘accomplishments" none of which include producing a budget (which Democrats have continued to obstruct for over three years now).

Captain Obvious Gets More Affirmation- And why Democrats MUST Be Removed From Power

I’d like to think I was out in front when declaring that Fast And Furious was a government plan to bring left wing rhetoric to life.   Smoking gun

Or was I just being captain obvious; Democrats secretly selling American guns to violent Mexican criminals so they could later find those guns at crime scenes and use that to make the case for limiting the right to buy or own firearms.  Who could doubt that scenario?  It made perfect sense to me.  It is your typical left wing Shakespearean tragedy, staged to persuade the inattentive rubes who still have some sliver of trust in the government, or believe that the Democrat party just want’s to protect them.

Well this should poke a hole in that balloon.  “Why would an anti-gun administration knowingly force licensed firearms dealers to sell guns to violent criminals?”

Why is that?  Well we know why because it is obvious.  To sell their own preferred anti-gun policy potions and prepare the soil for their legislative “response” to the expected “outrage.”  But If Democrats are willing to do this just to deny Americans their second Amendment rights, what wouldn’t they be willing to do to advance every other part of their anti-liberty agenda?   (At least a few people could be having na epiphany right now so let’s give them a moment to enjoy it…)  OK.

How does one become an Occupy Wall Street Protestor? A quest for understanding in a somewhat complicated topic. Why? Because there are some who seem to demonstrate a modicum of intelligence and articulate usage of the language when the camera is rolling. And, there are some who dress reasonably normal (normal meaning, no obvious hygiene challenges, maintaining a groomed appearance). Those folks are in the vast minority. And certainly it would not be an accurate statement to say these slackers are all “youth generational.” The camera has caught some old enough to be peers of my parents.

But the task at hand is an immediate one. How do I blend in? How do I become an OWS protestor. I suppose I should start with something superficial. Ah yes! you say, “Things aren’t always as they appear.” and how right one might be to make such a characterization. But any good leftist will tell you, honesty is a relative term. “Your views are your views.”  Kind of akin to calling people racists because they don’t like Obama… Yet, when it is pointed out that these same “racists” like Herman Cain, the argument shifts to, “you only like him because he gives your racism cover.” Rank dishonesty is the domain of the left. And outward appearance is what we first see from our friends in the lame stream media.

As a segue into my OWS protestor journey, I neither shave nor shower for an extended period of time. (if I wish to wholly embrace this slacker look, I don’t brush my teeth, either..If a casual observer spies a chive stuck in my teeth when I smile, I have arrived) It is important to engender that, “rail against the establishment” appearance. Smelling ones’ own smell, is sufficient validation one has achieved parity with the OWS appearance.

Signs from OccupyNH (Occupy Wall Street) rally in Manchester

I think back to the signs at the TEA Party events and most were funny, a play on words, and with a point against the growth of government and the socialization of risk taken (instead of letting folks and corporations fail for bad decisions made). 

Somehow,I believe this sign sets the tone for this movement built on class envy and growing the size of government:

Now, every movement has its nutcases, and this one will be no different, and I laugh that the Obama/Hitler signs by the Lynden LaRouche folks are now showing up at OWS sites and becoming THEIR problem as they did for the TEA Party events.  But this "Eat the Rich" meme (and the associated meme being "kill them first") is being seen all over the country (and the world).  Make no mistake, the "rich" are being targeted and scapegoated for being successful; envy is a powerful emotion.
