This is my testimony to the Nashua Public Library Trustees’ September meeting. After the June Trustees’ meeting, I went to the children’s room to see what was on display, and I found the book “Grandad’s Pride” featured prominently for Pride month.
Are Campus snowflakes rioting after years of encouragement from professors and administrators the best form of social justice? They deserve whatever grief they get, yes? But they aren’t the only victims. The L, G, and B folks started something that has come to haunt many.
Earlier this month, Marshall Simonds Middle School in Burlington, Massachusetts, was at the center of a conflict over a Pride Month celebration. Many students that protested the event are now the targets of criticism from Pride supporters and calls for disciplinary action against the protestors.
Some in the LGB community can probably see it coming. What used to be an expression – albeit a bit oversexualized – of pride in an alternative lifestyle choice has been hijacked. The T and the Q are in the driver’s seat, and the party bus is headed for a cliff.
Despite the lack of reporting, Monkeypox (MPOX) has still been on a few people’s minds. It was a year ago that the Gay Pride Festivals in Africa and Europe served as ground zeroes for the global spread of the disease, almost exclusively in men who have sex with other men. Well, guess what?
Here in the Upper Valley the leadership among the local churches has a variety of approaches to leading their congregants, so far as teaching the Bible and sharing the gospel. Some churches and their leaders take a traditional approach with acoustic hymns and worship styles followed by line by line exegesis of the scripture.
Drag shows are sex shows. Everything about them is sexual fantasy mixed with the latest deviancy trend—fantasies for adults, who are entitled to them, but never for children. And now we’ve got another reason why.
On June 1, 2022, two local grassroots campaigners helped WoLF launch a public service announcement in Manchester, New Hampshire: “Women, Adult Human Females – It’s Not Complicated.” WoLF is thankful for the fervent nonpartisan collaboration that led to this PSA!
I’ve heard it alleged that Monkeypox traveled north in animal reservoirs due to man-made climate change. And that’s partly true. The first case was found in the UK on May 7th in a “man” (an animal) who had returned (via man-made travel) from Nigeria (where Monkeypox is not uncommon).
Tolerance and diversity hint at acceptance like some gender equivalent of the American melting pot. I think we know that’s not how it works, so what does Burger King’s Pride Month Whopper bun-stunt represent?
