We are seeing many socialist ideas gaining traction in America today. Polling shows about 70% of millennials say they would back a socialist candidate for elective office. This is troubling because of what socialism is and what it produces.
No shirt, No shoes, No police, No problem. Cities deciding to cut their police funding should stop and ask: Who was Jimmy Hoffa? Maybe they could be cutting their own supply lines. Would that be an issue? What percentage of food, hardware, lumber, electrical supplies, etc. comes by a truck?
As we scrabble about in search of a path back to normal the critical question to my mind is what will normal be? Look around you. With very little information and a few projections that were outrageously wrong, a majority of Americans knelt before the State and complied with its demands.
To defeat the flu we must get the government out of the way. Americans don’t rely on the government to save the day. The government is there to defend us, facilitate trade and maintain an orderly society.
