This caught my eye as one of the things that Romney said after announcing that Paul Ryan was to be his Veep pick:
“I love America. We’re going to restore American principles. We love this country. We don’t want to change it. We don’t want to transform it. We want to restore the principles of America that made us the hope of the earth.”
Again, I ask you, loyal reader, to compare that, going back to our Founders vision, to what Obama has said:
Well, perhaps this is now a real Phase II of the Romney campaign – on the idea of “the fish rots from the head down”. We’ve been treated to a non-stop litany of the Obama campaign trying to paint Romney as their worst nightmare – and he is. A believer in the Free Markets (compared to Obama), one that believes in the Rule of Law (compared to the Obama Administration), and one that believes that you pull your own weight in Society (as opposed to the Entitlement Society promulgated at great cost by the Obama Administration).

Spike Lee, that level headed, completely non-racially biased, political observer noted today that “… expectations were way too high” in reference to expectations of Herr Obama’s success in his first term. He might have a point. But, then again, who’s fault is that? Just a quick glance at some of the expectation management that spilled forth from Herr Obama’s gullet (between flashes of the beguiling Cheshire grin of course), as he regurgitated the teleprompters direction, might provide a clue.
Referencing how history will treat his own campaign and time in office the demure one said:
“…this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”
He is. He even has a kill list. They bragged about it. Foreign terrorists have constitutional rights but killing American Citizens without a trial is not above Mr. Obama. Well, got home at about 2:15 am this morning. Am absolutely convinced that Washington DC is the pits to try to get out of when you are driving a car, don’t know the city, and the GPS is absolutely convinced that you HAVE to go up the street that the DC DPW folks have closed for repairs (3 times, in fact!). I’ve been wanting to put this post up, but it just keeps being one of those that just slips away each evening. Certainly it is clear that there is a divide, nay, a chasm between those of the Left and those on the Right. That chasm is for the future direction of the United States.
Obama famously said that “we are five days from fundamentally transforming the United States”. His vision is clear: unlike all of US History, he wishes to completely subsume all of Society under the thumb of Government. Why is this a fundamental transformation? Remember your history – the Declaration and the Constitution were all about protecting Individual Rights against an encroaching Government. Society was to have a Government that served it and not the other way around.
Here’s something you’ll almost never hear. I’m actually defending Obama here. Despite what the peacnick globalist gun grabbers think, the collapse of the UN Arms treaty that he would have been more than happy to sign in a New York Minute, despite it violating the Second Amendment of the US Constitution, and our inalienable human right to self defense….it was not (entirely) his fault.
Fifty-One members of the US Senate had already sent the President a letter stating that…as along as small and light arms were in the treaty, they would never vote to ratify it. It’s that whole separation of powers thing. Obama can sign whatever he likes but at the end of the day congress has to agree to fund it and in the case of treaties, the Senate needs 67 votes to authorize it. Forty-nine aint no sixty-seven, even in Chicago.
Of course, as Hot Air point out, Obama chose to engage in the process of advancing this treaty starting back in 2009 so he only has himself to blame. Which gets me thinking.
