Spike Lee, that level headed, completely non-racially biased, political observer noted today that “… expectations were way too high” in reference to expectations of Herr Obama’s success in his first term. He might have a point. But, then again, who’s fault is that? Just a quick glance at some of the expectation management that spilled forth from Herr Obama’s gullet (between flashes of the beguiling Cheshire grin of course), as he regurgitated the teleprompters direction, might provide a clue.
Referencing how history will treat his own campaign and time in office the demure one said:
“…this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”
Gee, sounds like he placed the bar just a bit above the heavens eh? The people who actually bought that, and his other high highfalutin, vacuous nonsense, also bought his smile, bought the hope and change, and bought the vision they themselves projected onto the unknown, charismatic savior. And, guess what? They actually expected him to deliver. Sure, I think they’re naive, utopian craving loons, but that’s what he sold. Don’t get your undies in a bunch, Spike, because their holding him accountable. So, Spike, if you have a problem with the expectations, blame your buddy for setting them too high. Yet another area where Herr Obama finds himself in over his head.
