Obama’s “Brown Shirts”

“I think when you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody.”—Barack Hussein Obama

This is beginning to be scary stuff. The President of the nation has us all on a socialist track; He is driving the country into chaos and disorder; too many people do not have jobs;  He is increasing the grasp of government into our daily lives more as each day passes.

So use your imagination here. Ronald Reagan told us early on that,

“Outside of its legitimate function, Government does nothing as well or as economically as the private sector of the economy. For three decades, we sought to solve the problems of unemployment through government planning. And the more the plans fail, the more the planners plan. The Government can’t control the economy without controlling people. And they know that when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. Somewhere a perversion has taken place. Our natural unalienable rights are now considered to be a dispensation of government. And Freedom has never been so fragile, so close to slipping from our grasp as it is at this moment.”

Quotes worthy of note: Government dependency…

“Volumes of research have shown that Great Society welfare policies—such as public housing and aid to families with dependent children—fuel family dissolution, community fragmentation, generational joblessness, and government dependency….The Obama administration [is] more adroit at excuse-making and blame-shifting that creating opportunity, and seems ideologically incapable of pursuing the policies that fulfill the moral promise of … Read more

CNN – What’s with the Selective White House Talking Points?

CNN has come out of the closet on the Benghazi attack – What’s with the selective White House Talking Points? The only conclusion is that the White House tried to cover something up.  Hey CNN.  This isn’t the first or the only thing the Obama Administration is trying to cover up… H/T Hot Air

Obama Admin – OK To Break Federal Law, We’ll Pay the Fines For You

Breitbart.com Yesterday, Lockheed Martin, a massive contractor, announced it had reached a “deal” with the White House and would not send out the legally required layoff notices. The Obama Administration had “interpreted” the law and found it would be “inappropriate” to send out the layoff notices. More amazingly, the White House promised to pay any … Read more

If The Attack on The US Embassy Wasn’t Pre-planned…

...then why scrub the memo issued by the US department of State, dated September 6th, announcing no credible security threats to our embassies on the anniversary of 9-11?   That’s right, a blogger caught the change and posted it.

The US State department issues a memo to its embassies indicating there are no credible threats for the anniversary of 9/11.  There are no marines stationed in Benghazi to protect the ambassador.  The administration is insiting the attack was some random act of outrage over some obscure six months old you Tube video.

But the Libyan President says he has no doubt the attack was planned months in advance (also here).  Al Qaeda is now claiming it was a planned retribution.   A Local security official in Libya says he warned the US of the deteriorating security situation 3 days before the attack.  Attackers worked in concert, with heavy weapons, knew where to be and where to go.  The Serbian consulate wants to know why the Obama administration posted a Gay ambassador in a Muslim country.  And now the original State Department memo no longer includes any mention of there being no credible threats, that Al Qaeda was not “plotting any kind of attack overseas” on the anniversary of 9-11.

Administration Knew Embassies Were Targeted 48 Hours Before Mobs Hit Embassies And Said Nothing

It’s official.  The feckless reach of the Obama administration is not constrained by borders.  As reported in the “The Independent”, the State Department had information 48 hours before the liberty loving rabid, revenge filled mob encroached upon the embassies and murdered Ambassador Stevens and three others, but decided that news wasn’t worth dispensing to the … Read more

Good going Obama (and your pernicious pack of Progressives!)

The Global Competitive Report fr 2012-2013 has bad news for the US – it seems that Obama’s policy of Determined Weakness is succeeding:

…This year’s Report features a record number of 144 economies, and thus continues to be the most comprehensive assessment of its kind. It contains a detailed profile for each of the economies included in the study as well as an extensive section of data tables with global rankings covering over 100 indicators. This Report remains the flagship publication within the Forum’s Global Benchmarking Network, which produces a number of research studies that mirror the increased integration and complexity of the world economy.

And where is the US in all this?  I would say that this is a big “Oopsies” bordering on “Major FacePalm” – am betting Obama and his cohort that dream of a de-industrialized US are beaming with pride (“status OK, everything proceeding as planned!”):

We used to be first.  Last year: 5th.  Now: 7th.  Given the economy and the way that the Obamanauts go about setting their industrial policy (as IF the Government is SUPPOSED to set that – oh wait, that was in the former USSR, right?  THAT worked out so spectacularly well, eh?), we should be surprised?

What did they measure and what were those items that is causing us to have a less free economy?

GrokTV Event – Seacoast Republican Women Congressional Forum – Question 5- Nationalizing Education Standards?

For the cost of our educational system at the K-12 levels, our results are deplorable.  No Child Left Behind was an attempt to “fix” that with uneven results (and unions screaming that they should not be judged or evaluated by their pupils results).  Now, Fed. Ed. Sec. Arne Duncan, with his Race To the Top, is trying to institute an even more Top Down Federalization of education by “hijacking” what is known as the Common Core Standards with “awards” (or is that handcuffs?) of Federal money.  Is this something that NH should be in, or should local control be preeminent?

Question 5: What is your opinion of the Common Core Standards that the Federal Govt is suggesting as a national curriculum?

GrokTV Event – Seacoast Republican Women Congressional Forum – Question 4

To recap: five of the questions asked of the Candidates at the Seacoast Republican Women Congressional Forum were contributed before and during the event by the actual attendees with the lone exception of the last Question by Stella Scamman, the moderator.  The Candidates answering were:

NH First Congressional District – Rick Parent, Vern Clough                           NH Second Congressional District  – Will Dean, Dennis Lamare

“NO SHOWS”: Incumbents Congressmen Frank “Stiffing the SRW at the last moment” Guinta and Charlie “It’s not worth my time” Bass.

Much has been made of the annual debt (now all of the years of Obama’s Presidency have had $1 Trillion deficits) and the debt, but little on how to pay that $16 Trillion debt (which soars to over $130 Trillion if you count unfunded future liabilities) – Question 4: How will you work to reduce the debt limit?

Following the Trail from Sustainability…to Tyranny (Part 2)

Sustainability Ferris Wheel

This is part-2 of a series that breaks down the “sustainability” movement, and explains how some in NH are working to constrain individual liberties with it.  Read part-1 here.

The consummate community organizer, President Obama, knows the value of urban voters.  He knows that urban living, with its clustered, infrastructure-heavy, and herd-like nature, depends on government more than suburban life, and far more than self-sufficient, independent rural living.  He knows that more urban (or urban-like) voters mean utter dominance of the Progressive political class, at all levels.

He also knows that people have flocked away from cities, especially since the 1970’s, forming concentric suburban rings, referred to as “sprawl” (a word you will hear used quite a bit), which provide resistance to his urban, democratic-socialist ideals.

“The suburbs will define the outcome of the 2012 Presidential election”

Continuing to use the environmental movement as cover, and using the Presidency for credibility and funding, Barack Obama and his fellow community organizers are advancing the simmering ideology of “sustainability” by attacking the suburbs.

AFPF American Dream Summit – “What is your American Dream? Obama’s version?”

Well, I didn’t get the interviews I wanted to this morning at the Americans for Prosperity Defending the American Dream Summit, so I changed gears and found a number of attendees just arriving that agreed to a quick Grok “micro-interview”.  Two questions:

  1. What is your version of the American Dream?
  2. Contrast that with what you think the Obama Administration’s version of the American Dream is?

Short, simple, and to the point.  Even two of my old Samsphere blogger buddies, Bob Weeks and Eric Telford, assented to answering my questions.  So, what were the answers?

Obama Immigration Policy, Sans Consequences?

“Amnesty is a big billboard, a flashing billboard, to the rest of the world that we don’t really mean our immigration law.”  —Richard Lamm

One of the realities of life is having consequences  arising from the choices of others. Sad, but true. Except of course if you are an “illegal alien.” “Undocumented Immigrants” as liberals like to call them, is a misnomer. Fact is, it is “illegal” to enter the United States without submitting to a process to do so. So I prefer the term, “Crim-aliens”  If “undocumented immigrant is a logically correct term, than so is “unlicensed pharmacist” for a drug dealer. In that aversion to consequence,  it would appear that liberals like to massage terminology that aides them in fooling the sheeple.

How About Those Gas Prices?

“As you know, the government takes 40 percent of what you make. The other 60 percent, of course, taken by the gas stations.” — Jay Leno

Is this You?Been to a Gas Station Lately? Prices have spiked markedly in the last two weeks. For those of us driving Sport Utility Vehicles the effect is most pronounced. Just this week it cost nearly eighty dollars to fill my Ford Explorer’s fuel tank. It was nearly a year ago when President Obama quipped,

“If you’re complaining about the price of gas, and you’re only getting 8 miles to the gallon… you may wanna think about a trade-in”

Yes. I know..it’s an SUV….but show me a “clown car” with the performance benefits of an SUV. Fact is, there isn’t one. It appears that Obama believes middle America has the means to expend all the funds necessary to lower gasoline costs and improve efficiency. The President may well be right, but he overlooks the considerable cost one has to undertake to achieve that end.

The Food Stamp Nation and Its’ President

“I’d go to, like, six different schools in one year. We were on welfare, and my mom never ever worked.” —Eminem

Greetings from the Welfare State

During the Republican Presidential Debates, Newt Gingrich referred to President Obama as the, “Food Stamp President.” That was last week. Yet, over two years ago, Wyatt Emmerich, Publisher for the Northside Sun based in Jackson, Mississippi posited an editorial where his underlying thesis was, “a one-parent family of three making $14,500 a year (minimum wage) has more disposable income than a family making $60,000 a year.”  (See Emmerich’s Editorial in its entirety, Here)

Do Nothing Democrats

It has been three years since the Democrat party produced a federal budget. The Democrat Senate has blocked repeated efforts by the Republican controlled House to ‘do something’ about that. President Obama, Senate leader Harry Reid, and the Democrat leaderships contribution (including their media homunculus) has been to demand compromise without giving any.
