The Terrorist Next Door

Investigative reporter Erick Stakelbeck, host of the network program “Stakelbeck on Terror,” has written a book everyone needs to pay attention to. It’s called “The Terrorist Next Door, ‘How the government is deceiving you about the Islamist threat.”

BIN LADEN’S DEMISE IN FOCUS

The news of Bin Laden’s demise was barely minutes old before the politicizing began in earnest. In the hours that followed, Barbara Walters on the view retorts, “I would hate now to be a Republican candidate thinking of running,” Like this somehow cancels out the high gas prices, the economy being in the toilet and … Read more

Guest Post – what was going on in DC after the Osama news broke…

Well, last nite, I watched Facebook and the news feeds on TV.  One of the sights brought in was that folks gathering in the park opposite the White House chanting USA and singing the National Anthem.

Chris Crawford, a student down in DC (and Chair of the New Hampshire Conservative Futures PAC), sent this following guest post via Facebook to let others know what it was like to be down there last nite:

Live from DC – Jubilation

by Chris Crawford

When I got out of 10:00 mass at St. Stephen’s Parish in Washington, D.C., I had a text message from Melissa Fernandez.

It read, “The president it [sic] making an emergency speech right now….They say it’s going to be really dramatic.”

Vince Nordin, who came with me to Mass for the first time this year, said, “It’s probably nothing.”

Naturally, I panicked. I thought, “What could be this important? Was there an attack or a disease outbreak that no one in the press had known about? What if there’s a meteor on its way toward us?”

I thought aloud to Vince and he said, again, “No, seriously, it’s nothing. Relax.”

We rushed into Madison Hall and ran out of the elevator. Vince had to pee, but I was just really excited. I burst through the door and looked at the TV. I saw Wolf Blitzer’s face and the bottom line that said, “OSAMA BIN LADEN DEAD”.

My heart pounded. I looked at the rest of the room and let out a yell for joy. Tyler McAfee called me and we went crazy on the phone.

Friends from our floor crowded into the room and waited for Obama’s speech. Ed Hendry appeared outside the White House and said, “There is a crowd forming outside. There are about 30 or 40 people. They are chanting “U-S-A and singing The National Anthem.” Little did he know, the crowd would grow to thousands within just a couple of hours.

Next, Wolf Blitzer appeared and said that the president would not be speaking for another 20 minutes. I played “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,” by Toby Keith and shortly thereafter I went to grab my sweater off of the door. It’s a bright red, white, and blue sweater with elephants on it that Uncle Michael had given me for my birthday last year. I also tossed the white cowboy hat that I had gotten at CPAC earlier this year. Then we made the decision to watch the speech later, and go celebrate now.

We met outside Madison and began walking quickly down 22nd Street toward the White House. There were dozens of people in the street cheering, and there were cars honking in the streets in the distance. As we got closer to the White House, we broke into a jog –and then an all-out run, toward Lafayette Square. There were hundreds of people already there, and the crowd was growing. On our way into the crowd, people spotted my sweater and my white Cowboy hat and were high-fiving me. Some people took pictures.

A “U-S-A” chant was breaking out as we joined hundreds…

Osama Bin Ladin – looking for his promised virgins…

Update: Obama just announced OBL died in a fire fight – I guess NOT a bomb.  Good – makes it more personal.

As La Costra Nostra members might put it – he sleeps with the fishies.  Imagine his face when he realizes there ARE no virgins waiting for him!

Started off as an alert at 10:30 that The One was going to interrupt The Donald’s decision on The Apprentice – many thinking this was a political tactic.  Switched over to Fox – who knew Geraldo was going to be Da Guy to announce it?

What I know so far – OBL killed a week ago in a mansion in Pakistan by a US bomb.  It has been confirmed by DNA analysis – the US has sole possession of the body.

Thanks to the men and women of our military and intelligence to find him, verify it was him, and then to carry out the mission.  Can you imagine HOW MANY people had to keep their mouths shut during this past week?  May those that have given much and those giving all to have this news rest easy – Mission Accomplished!

I will also say this: thank you to both President Bush and President Obama for keeping up the pressure and the hunt.

A perfect example of Political Correctness, “creeping Shariah” and the use of “lawfare”.

Political Correctness will be one of the leading causes of the death of Western Liberal Philosophy and the civilization on which it is built.  I read this and saw – for all of the West’s military might, a word might bring it down.  Why?

It seems that anyone, at any time, can accuse of offense.  Whether it makes sense or not, we seem to be devolving to where the decision of "offense" is no longer made by society but strictly by the minority – and in this case, a minority of one.   The purpose of identity politics is not to ensure that the rights of a minority are protected.  In effect, it is a tool with which to wage war by which the minority can hijack the rights of the majority.

From Powerline: It sounds like parody, but this story from Spain is evidently true:

The parents of a Muslim boy who attends a secondary school in La Línea, Cádiz province, have reported their son’s teacher for an incident in the boy’s geography class which the child said caused him offence as a Muslim.

The teacher, José Reyes Fernández, with more than 20 years in the profession, was explaining to the class how the cold climate in Trevélez, Granada province, aided in the curing of the village’s most famous local product, jamón serrano. The boy told his teacher that hearing the word ‘ham’ in class was offensive to him because of his religion and asked his geography teacher to stop referring to the product which caused him offence.

El Mundo newspaper reports that the boy’s parents then reported the teacher to both the National Police and to the courts. They placed a denuncia against the teacher for psychological ill-treatment in the context of xenophobia and racism.

One assumes that the boy and his parents had help from the Spanish equivalent of CAIR in pushing his "xenophobia" complaint. It is a great illustration of the effort to create a little bubble of walking sharia around each Muslim that we also see in the U.S.

On one level,…

“Resolved: The only good muslim is a bad muslim”

"Whoa, Doug– those are some pretty strong words! Listen to yourself, man– you’re insulting someone’s RELIGION!"

First of all, those are not MY words– it happens to have been the topic of an absolutely enthralling intellectual debate I had the privilege of attending last week at the Thomas Moore Liberal Arts College here in NH.

As announced over at the Jihad Watch blog, The Edmund Campion Debate Society presented its third debate of the academic year 2010-11 between two keynote speakers: Robert Spencer, Director, Jihad Watch & Professor Peter Kreeft of Boston College On the topic:

Resolved: That the Only Good Muslim is a Bad Muslim.

Speaking in the affirmative will be Mr. Spencer, director of Jihad Watch, frequent guest on Fox News, ABC, BBC, and many other media, and author of nine books on Islam, including NY Times bestsellers The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) and The Truth About Muhammad. Spencer will contend that orthodox Islam is intrinsically intolerant of other faiths and incompatible with a free society, such that when individual Muslims grow secularized and less observant, they may become less of a danger to free societies.

Speaking in the negative will be Prof. Peter Kreeft of the philosophy department at Boston College, author of more than 45 books, including the recently released Between Allah and Jesus: What Christians Can Learn from Muslims. One of Mr. Spencer’s former teachers, Prof. Kreeft will argue that Catholics and Muslims belong to sister, Abrahamic faiths, and should cooperate to resist the secularization and moral decay that prevail in the postmodern, post-Christian West.

Now, I could sit here and pen an extended piece about what I heard and learned, which, basically, is yes, from the point of view of a citizen of our Constitutional Republic, indeed, the only good Muslim is a bad Muslim. Because, the more strictly a devout member of the Islam religion sticks to its basic tenets, the WORSE it becomes for us, the infidels, or, as they put it, "the people of the book."

But don’t take my word for it– thanks to the magic of Youtube, you can watch it all for yourself. The intros in the first few minutes may seem a bit mundane, but I promise you– the ensuing debate– albeit very respectful and polite–is anything but:

Faux Islamophobia, or REAL Islamophobia?

Islamofascism – a political system wrapped up in the trappings of religion.  The Left is always playing Chicken Little about a Christian fundamentalist theocracy taking hold and taking over here in America.  I’ve listened to this tommyrot for decades – it ain’t happened, it isn’t happening, and it won’t either.

Shariah Law, on the other hand?  Oh, we who bring that up are called Islamophobes, or religion haters, or just bigots (man, I just wish I had a trademark on that word….).  Yet, look at what happened with the Mohammed Cartoons a few years ago out of Denmark; those that drew them and those that published them were vilified.

Ask yourself – where was the US media on "free speech"?  AWOL, cowards – great defenders, these folks, when it only comes to flapping their gums.  Yet, when faced with an issue where real courage is concerned, free speech in the face of Islamic ire, they go limp and flaccid.  Yeah, you go guys.  They wouldn’t even print a cartoon that simply had the text "Where’s Muhammad" with no "blasphemic image" of Muhammed in it (Steve put it this version of a religious "Where’s Waldo?" up and I’m glad he did).

Greg Gutfeld of Red Eye had a spot on Fox’s News Watch program – and called out the REAL Islamophobes – the media:

What is Islam?

Whereas democracy is defined as the rule of the people, by the people, for the people, Islam is defined as the rule of Allah, by Allah and his emissaries, for the pleasure of Allah. And when people, out of concern for political correctness or ignorance, describe Islam as a religion of peace, they are, at the very least, guilty of misrepresenting it.

If only the masses of Muslims arise and carry out the orders of Allah, then we would have the promised paradise of Islam on earth as exemplified by such rules as that of the Taliban, Saudi Arabia, the Sudan, and of course the Shiite nirvana of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Islam is a comprehensive totalitarian form of slavery. It is the opposite of freedom. Its very name, Islam means submission or surrender. True to its name, Islam strives for nothing short of enslavement of the body of humanity as well as the bondage of its mind. This non-negotiable surrender to Islam requires the individual, as well as the society, to disenfranchise themselves of many of the fundamental and deeply cherished human rights.

Let’s have no doubt about it, Islam is political to the core. In Islam…

Burning Korans? Bad. Burning Bibles? Good. Burning Christians alive? That’s okay too.

Muslims don’t like the idea of burning Korans. More on Burning Korans vs. Burning Bibles

The U.S. in the Age of Obama says "burning Korans is bad!" But it’s just fine on burning Bibles. This is our federal government. Somebody get the hook….

Beslan tragedy +6 (how’s that “religion of peace” thing working out?)

Do you remember this incident?

History is so important, helping us see the bigger picture, so, I will take the time (even as we prepare for our mid-term Primary elections) to remind you about this horrific event, and what caused it to happen.

Six years ago, on September 1, 2004 (the first day of school), about 40 Chechen Terrorists stormed a school in Beslan, Russia (North Ossetia, North Caucasus), taking everyone hostage.  "Everyone" constituted 1,128 people, many of them school children, aged 6 to 13.  Two days later, as police and military forces attempted to retake the school, the terrorists had killed approx. 330 people, including 187 children.  Hundreds of others were severely wounded, both physically and emotionally.

One of the aspects of this horrible event is never really discussed openly.  The terrorism and killings, gruesome enough alone, also included "sexual terror".  Labeled "sexual homicide", these terrorists were not satisfied with rape alone; they also needed to kill their victims, to gain complete satisfaction.  Fueled by Russian defiance and downplaying of their act, and realizing that they would not get out of this situation alive, the terrorists’ actions during these 3 days were driven by an unspeakable combination of ideology, rage, sadism, and perversion.

The terrorists, which included women, took great pleasure in the raping, torturing, humiliating, and deprivation of their victims.  Oppressive heat, creating dire thirst among the hostages, became an additional implement of pain and suffering.  Still not satisifed, they taunted the growing crowd of families outside the school, shooting off their weapons, petrifying the horrified observers.

The BBC produced a 6-part series, documenting the "Children of Beslan".  If you have some time to watch, please do.

If you don’t have the time, watch this emotional 10-minute montage.
