“Honor Your Oath” rally – Closing remarks by Jack Kimball and Jeff Chidester

The last video from yesterday’s Honor Your Oath Rally – which, er, isn’t much of a video.  It seems that the e-Gremlins decided to go nest in my camera for the last part of the rally – the files holding the closing remarks by Jack Kimball and Jeff Chidester got corrupted when I went to do the regular post-prodution processing.  I was able to (sorta) save them, but the video and the audio aren’t sync’d up at all.

So, I present for your listening pleasure:

“Honor Your Oath” rally at the State House in Concord, NH

Yesterday in at State Capital Building, the Granite State Patriot Liberty PAC (GSPLPAC) held its “Honor Your Oath” rally.  It was meant to reawaken the understanding that when those in military, those in law enforcement, and those elected officials, that the words they stay in taking the Oath that they did, they swore an Oath … Read more

“Honor Your Oath” Rally – Skip Murphy, co-founder GraniteGrok

Yeah, they let me speak as well and I was asked to speak on “self-responsibility” in terms of “Honoring Your Oath”.  Unlike most that spoke, I gave mine as a locally elected official in my town – and yes, I paid attention to it twice and I still do today.  I tried to do what I did mindful of that Oath, for once a promise is given, it should be kept.  Given that it was handling other peoples’ money as a Budget Committee member, I often thought of these (“It is not mine to give”: here, here, here, and here).

WMURNo, Jimmie Pindell of WMUR, this was not a gun rally (even as TMEW reported that WMUR called it one; I guess they really didn’t listen to what Jeff Chidester said it WAS and what it was NOT.  Simply, they either didn’t REALLY cover the rally, only bothered to show up for a snippet of the rally, or just plain made it up.

Let me ‘splain what the rally was a bit more:

Apologies, apologies – both show the rot in our culture…and both involve Obama

Obama Apologizes to California AG for Complimenting Her Appearance

“President Obama has apologized to California attorney general Kamala Harris for calling her the nation’s “best looking” attorney general at a California fundraiser yesterday, according to White House press secretary Jay Carney.

“He called her to apologize for the distraction created by his comments,” said Carney. “He did not want in any way to diminish the attorney general’s professional accomplishments or her capabilities.” He added that the president “fully recognizes the challenges women continue to face in the workplace and that they should not be judged based on appearance.”

…His remarks caused a stir among feminists and others upset that the president commented on Harris’s appearance.”

Chivalry: Coat Over Puddle For LadyWe were not a family of means growing up but my brother and I were taught and expected to know our manners and know how to behave both in public and in private so as not to embarrass either ourselves or worse, Mom. Yes, I grew up in what I consider now to be a much more chivalrous time when it wasn’t out of the ordinary to hold a door open for a lady, regardless of age, to seat a lady first before taking my seat at dinner, to hold the use of cruder words / jokes for times “with the boys”, to show manners, and complementing the ladies was an ordinary occurrence (or, expected at some types of events).  While just being polite was a large part of it, it was NOT as many feminists seem to believe…

More than a food fight at NH GOP HQ – and only one standing up for Principle thus far?

Will he, Dr. Robert Scott, be that only one standing?  Or has he just been led in front of the firing squad wall – alone?

I received either the same or a similar email thread that was sent to Pindell over at WMUR.  Unlike him, who only put up excerpts (er, why?  He’s got that blog site and putting it up is almost a negligible marginal cost.), I’m putting up what I have and you can decide.  Will this prevent more from coming in?  Dunno, but here is one thing you can count on.  Over the years, the ‘Grok has ALWAYS been on the side of a more open and transparent Government.  Given that, why not be open about one of the Parties, especially since James has already started the email dump?  And yes, it seems like everyone is trying to dump on Robert Scott for trying to stand up and protect the assets / good standing / name / history / <insert “good stuff” name here>.

Why put them up?  Why yak about what is going on at the NH GOP E-Board level? After all, these elites “rule” Party since we elected them, right?  Why should we trouble our little heads, we who ARE State Committee Members (like most of us here at GraniteGrok)?  Turn that question around: why shouldn’t the State Committee Members know of the food fight (with what seems to be with embedded razor blades)?  And instead of “ruling”, shouldn’t they be governing the Party with our consent?  Should we not be holding them to the same standards that are espoused in our Platform?

A la Drudge, consider this “Developing”.  Interesting that Dr. Scott starts off with a “wait, you agreed to not sign” with a Ms. Horn immediate response on Dr. Scott concerning FEC reports – such a deal!  Seems from these emails to be a “I want what I want and here’s how I’m gonna get it” and if a sullying of Dr. Scott’s reputation is but a tool in which to get it, er, well, politics ain’t beanbags as Papa Smurf has been known to utter.  Well, we’ll take his other advise: “talk, talk, talk, talk, talk…talk to your family, talk to your friends, talk to anyone”.

Indeed; it is what we do at the ‘Grok!  Begin forwarded messages (emphasis mine):

Good Morning,

We agreed that you would not sign anything.

Do I REALLY have to explain this one?

Right – if those two headlines don’t get your blood rushing, you just don’t care. As the Dad of two combat vets, who put their lives on the line for this country, my blood boiled when I saw that active military have had their education cut short while those that shouldn’t even be here – … Read more

Tweet of the Day – really, FORTRAN?

It seems that there was a Tweet fight between singer Duncan Sheik (supposedly, a one hit wonder back in the 90s – I certainly can’t remember it) and Greg Gutfield (host of “The Five” and “Redeye” on Fox. Hey @TheDuncanSheik you’re the fortran of pop music.— GregGutfeld (@greggutfeld) March 31, 2013 Zing! FORTRAN? Back in … Read more

Be on the Lookout. It Might Be Coming for You….

Will it creep up on you like a Democrat looking for new taxes in the night…or barrel toward you like a Mack truck, air horns blaring! Whichever it is, it is coming soon to a podcast near you.   Only we know for sure when, but soon — you’ll know too.

Google, is this a form of “evil”? Or is elevation of the political over religion “not evil”?

Update:  Sometimes we do clash on topics (great minds and all that); Grokster Steve posted on this as well – PLEASE read his post as well!

Today is Easter, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Google is well known for celebrating certain days with their “doodle art” when you go to their home page – and some of it is quite clever.  Today, for the billions of Christians celebrate their holiest of remembrances, do you think that Google just might acknowledge that?  Well, you tell me?

Easte r2013 -GoogleHas Cesar Chavez Not Jeasus

No, I’m not sure that it it “outright” evil (Google’s motto is “Don’t be evil” but has come under great  criticism lately for seemingly skirting that when it comes to profit making) but amidst rumors that Google might be playing games politically with the results of its searches when it comes to conservative vs progressive issues, this doesn’t optic well.

Eric Schmidt, the former head of Google is buddy-buddy with Obama (which shows his political leanings) and is an avowed Greenie (hates fossil energy companies).  His former company, Google,

Biden:”If it only saves one life!” Er, and why a robe by the bed saves one’s modesty

You NEVAH know when you might have to charge out of bed to defend one’s own and property and find oneself living one of those weird dreams that percolate up from time to time (“Where’s my clothes!”).  Betcha this guy wishes a robe had been as close as his sidearm (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Eric Martin was in bed at about 4:30 a.m. Thursday when he heard a commotion in his house, according to Sgt. Sam Despain with the St. George Police Department. Martin took his handgun with him to find the source of the noise, and encountered an intruder in his home.  “I’m in bed sleeping, I get up, I retrieve my sidearm, I chase him out the front door. I’ve got him pinned on the ground. It’s 4:55 in the morning and I don’t have a stitch of clothing on,” he said. “I’m basically telling him at this point, ‘Stay on the ground, don’t move, because if you do move, I will shoot you.’ Martin said the man, later found to be St. George resident Clinton Keller, had stockpiled items from the house on the front lawn. He said he chased Keller from his home and out the front door, at which point Keller tripped over the items on the lawn — allowing Martin to catch up to him.

“I said, ‘Do you know what I have pointed at you?’ He said, ‘No,’ and I said, ‘Do you want to know?’ and he of course doesn’t respond to that one, so I tell him, ‘Let me explain, I’ve got a .9mm pointed at you with high-velocity hollow points in the chamber,’ and I explained to him what that will do to him if he moves,” Martin said. “He tried to get up once, and I explained again that this was the last time I was going to have this conversation with him, and he stayed on the ground at that point,” Martin said.

Obamacare claims more victims: Juicy Couture. Clueless employees, though

Capitalism is easy to understand; here are Skip’s Rules:

  • Rule Number 1: The company owns the job.  Not you.  While good employers care about their employees, the Company comes first, long term.
  • Rule Number 2: Companies exist to make a profit. You have their job until you no longer help them make a profit.
  • Rule Number 3: This really should not exist but does because Socialists / Progressives / Fascists are trying to turn Companies into mere extensions of Government
  • Rule Number 4:  Given that Rule #3 now exists, Companies will react to it in ways that will ensure Rule #2 is fulfilled.

Corollary for Statists everywhere: TANSTAAFL (There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch) – and those that support them.  This post uses them all.  Here, Rule #3 is coming into the forefront of C-level execs, more and more, because several Obamacare cliffs are rushing at them. And now, some clueless retail employees at Juicy Couture are rather upset that their hours are being cut, and as the post says, they are demanding “just hours.”  And if they are “hip” shop, you can believe that oldy /moldies like me would probably not be out there on the retail floor – these would be the young  hipsters (and as it turns out, stupid and clueless for not being able to string  moves together and see where it ends) who voted for Obama:

You see, according to the campaign, the hip and trendy Juicy is doing what other companies are doing in an effort to cope with the burdensome regulations and costs of the “Affordable Health Care Act” (aka ObamaCare)–the company is downsizing its full-time payroll to (mostly) part-time workers.

Just too good not to share!

Over at The Blaze is a post that hunters that would normally go Colorado are venting their ire over the gun restrictions that have been enacted there.  Instead, they will be going elsewhere – along with their $$.  Why not?  Why put yourself at risk:

Opponents say the laws will make criminals of previously-legal gun owners, and hunters lending each other weapons for hunting trips.

And yes, Colorado citizens will suffer for the ideology of the Progressives that took over the Colorado Legislature and Governership:

“There’s a united front of sportsmen that are tired of having their freedoms and liberties and fundamental rights taken away from them,” said Jurney, vice president of the Colorado Outfitters Association. “That kind of unity among sportsmen is going to be big, and unfortunately for those of us who live here, we’re going to suffer the consequences of this misguided legislation.”

But I thought that one of the comments, by nonofmybiznez, was priceless:

If you can get arrested for hunting or fishing without a license, but not for being in the country illegally…you might live in a country run by idiots…
