Never A Surprise

“In the first place, God made idiots. That was for practice. Then he made school boards.” —Mark Twain

Londonderry School District Superintendent Nate Greenberg lobbied against HB 1607, “AN ACT establishing an education tax credit.” Not surprising at all…In fact, this is expected.

Long ago, educrats stopped caring about the delivery of a qualitative, substantive education for the communities children over their now-obvious priority of self-serving, fat-cat wielding power fiefdoms to preserve and continue the never-ending focus on how much the taxpayers can be bled to feed the whims of the edaucracy.

Two Dick’s & Obama’s Vitamin Police

Long story short, if the regs went into place the vitamin shelf at the store would be emptied until supplement makers submitting test results to the FDA and the products were approved. And the added for battling the bureaucracy and testing regime? You’d be paying that when they products went back on the shelf, if they did.

Socialist Fallacies

Socialist Fallacies is a book written by Yves Guyot and readily available in the public domain as a pdf.  If you have not read it, I highly recommend it.  Every page (so far) is loaded with observations about socialism that are as relevant today as they were in the early 1900’s.  Guyot relates the problems … Read more

UBIQUITOUS (AND SNEAKY) FORMS OF THE MANCHESTER SCHOOL DISTRICT

“Bureaucracy is a giant mechanism operated by pygmies—Honoré de Balzac, French novelist and playwright 1799 –1850

EDUCRATS_AT_WORK_small.jpg

The beginning of the School year, brings the plethora of forms home from school with the kids for parents to fill out and return. A physical health form must be signed by the family physician. Conversely, I find such forms to be intrusive, asking for health insurance provider information, group numbers, policy numbers and a bunch of other information generally outside my personal comfort zone for the submission to local government bureaucrats. When I ask about it, my kid responds, “we must have this information in by (date certain) or else we’ll get into trouble…” Get into “trouble?” When bureaucrats say, “do this or else!” it is part of my personality to ask, “or else what?” What kind of bureaucracy punishes kids because of what the parent ‘might not’ do? What if a parent is English challenged? What if the parent is on crack?

I fully understand why educrats ask for such information. However,  I question what happens to the information beyond the stated purpose. Often times other uses come into play, never intended. Seems to me only physicians and health care providers need insurance information, not the school.  The educrats require a medical permission slip for just about everything to include a plastic back-scratcher, so given that layer, why must they have the insurance information? I assert, they don’t

Next is the free or reduced lunch program. My family does not even come close to being eligible. Yet the educrats send home a form for us to fill out, directing the disclosure of our income and earnings. don’t think so! Summarily, I just put one red line through the whole stinking form and wrote on it that we do not meet the current eligibility requirements and I initialed it. If they don’t like it, SCREW EM! They’ll get over it with time and counseling.

Then today, we get this Middle School opt out form. There is a disclosure at the top which reads as follows:

THE SHRILL KATHY And Her Bill O’Brien Rant

“Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.” ~Ronald Reagan

Shrill_Kathy_Chronicals_Grok.jpg

When one reads the Shrill Kathy’s latest diatribe in the Union Leader, there is one theme that plays like a broken record: Tax, Tax, Tax…Spend, Spend, Spend.  The Shrill Kathy complains, “a 10-cent cut in the cigarette tax, did not change prices for smokers because the tobacco companies raised their prices…” I think I missed something because the former argument of the day was that the tobacco tax reduction would increase youth smoking. So, now here’s Kathy Sullivan arguing the ill merits of a tax typically inflicted upon Granite Staters who earn the least….a tax on the poor…which of many, smoke.

Next, the Shrill Kathy complains that, “House budget writers ignored every signal that the federal government was about to impose a $35 million penalty for Medicaid errors dating back to the Benson administration…” adding that, “Their irresponsibility has caused a gaping hole in their ballyhooed ‘balanced budget’.”  How conveniently she ignores the fact that her beloved Democratic party, led by Teri “Billion-dollar deficit” Norelli had two full terms to reconcile and fix this issue, but did not do so. Instead, they created more layers of government, increased over one-hundred fees and taxes and put into motion record unsustainable budgets, creating the fiscal mess this state now faces.

The Shrill Kathy whines, “New Hampshire hospitals are laying off hundreds of employees because O’Brien and his Republican colleagues took away federal money that had paid hospital costs for the poor…” Yet it hard to ignore the countless millions of construction dollars hospitals are using to competitively outspend one-another in an unquenchable drive to be better than the next facility.  Now that the Democrats have created yet another constituency cash cow that becomes as angry as any other when bloated coffers are not being filled, The dependable Shrill Kathy is all too willing to step into the limelight and pimp their cash loss off onto the poor. Isn’t it about time we stop the demagoguing and manipulation of the less fortunate? Let’s be honest here; You don’t really care about poor people, Kathy.

Mayor Gatsas is no different than any other cash cow constituent, be it Republican or Democrat. Every entity that gets some form of funding for something from the state or federal government cries, cut theirs…but NOT MINE!  Cuts made to the at-risk juvenile program, shows no indication of any highly-paid hacks taking any pay cuts or losing their jobs. Nope! self-preservation trumps program delivery.

545 People Are Responsible For The Mess, But They Unite In A Common Con

“Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber.”~Plato, Ancient Greek Philosopher

Charley_Reese_Grok.jpg

Charley Reese retired July 29, 2001. Who was Charley Reese? He was a columnist, serving 30 of those years at the Orlando Sentinel.  Characterized best by his plainspoken manner and conservative views,  he was with the Sentinel from 1971–2001, serving as  a writer and other such editorial capacities. King Features Syndicate distributed Charley’s column, which published up to three times a week.

On February 3, 1984 Charley originally published the column below. This column additionally republished as his final column. Rightfully so and despite being 27 years removed from its orignal publish date, it is no less relevant.

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The President does.

You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

GSFTC Member Organization Spotlight -NH Citizens Alliance

There are a number of groups that the Left wing Granite State ‘Fare’ Tax Coalition highlights on it’s web site.  It’s your typical collection of "non-non-partisan" interests like the State Employes Union of NH (That’s the local SEIU 1984). The AFSC-which is the NH Chapter of a global leftist movement supported by all the nicest left wing foundations.  The League of Women Voters of course.  And there is even a who’s-who of left wing, NH social justice churches and their political arms, all promoting socialist activism and statist policy from the pulpit down to on the ground left wing activism.Socialism- Making everyone poor...

All of these groups warrant, and will receive, a proper vetting, but today I would like to focus on a special cog in the leftist machine of the so-called non-partisan GSFTC, one that happens to be very active in New Hampshire on its own; the NHCA.  The NHCA is the New Hampshire Citizens Alliance.  (You may remember their executive director, Sarah Chaisson Warner?  She received some unwanted attention after some remarks she made back in March of 2010. See also Here from the NHTPC.) The New Hampshire citizens alliance is…(drum-roll please)

…a statewide nonprofit, nonpartisan organization devoted to social, economic, and political justice.

A Non-partisan organization devoted to social, economic, and political justice?  Too bad that’s just not possible.  There are no right wing groups seeking these ethereal ends.  These are buzz-words, Orwellian constructs, created by statist agenda-driven socialists to mislead people.  So the NHCA couldn’t be "non-partisan" if they tried. But you don’t have to take my word for it.  Just look at who they associate with and what they support.

John Lynch Vetoes Are A Political Shell Game

shell-game_GROK.jpg

“He is the kind of politician who would cut down a redwood tree, then mount the stump and make a speech for conservation…” Adlai Stevenson

Governor Lynch’s vetoes show him for who he really is: A big government, big spending, social liberal. And not an honest one either. His vetoes of these bills clearly prove that.

Lynch’s veto of HB109 is a slap to working families all across this state. In a time when home values are on a downward spiral and fewer working families can afford to purchase a home, the Governor paves the way for local bureaucrats to impose a costly regulation on working families. “I believe that the decision of whether or not to require fire sprinklers for new or renovated residential development should remain a local one.” This is class warfare by another flair.

How does Lynch assert sensitivity to a working families’ pursuit of purchasing a home by effectively shoving that cost further out of their financial reach? How does Lynch reconcile his class warfare by proxy by putting a regulation in place that clearly and effectively will exclude working families from obtaining a home? His veto effectively and potentially removes some affordable housing from the market. I personally know of several fire chiefs around the state who have been pushing and lobbying for local ordinances requiring sprinkler systems.

Governor Lynch’s veto of HB 218 is demonstrative of the larger mentality that the interests of a few friends should be served so that at some point for rail expansion, the rail authority can pick the pockets of New Hampshire taxpayers. Lynch grossly misrepresents the intent of the bill, implying that its sponsors are anti-rail. Fact is, proponents of rebuilding the rail infrastructure sought to maintain the option of receiving taxpayer funded subsidies and Lynch was more than willing to oblige.

Finally, Lynch’s veto of HB 329, commonly referred to as “Parental Notification,” shows him to be the consummate dishonest politician he truly is.  When he did not support the Granite State’s original parental notification law, he did so under the pretext of its lack of a medical exception.

Palin v. Elites

There are plenty of Republicans and Independents out there who have either gotten lazy and simply adopted the lefts narrative on Palin or who are actual snobby-right-wing elites protecting the moderate Republican power base. I’ve not much of a stomach for either. So if you feel like tossing out some of that left wing elitist narrative just be prepared to back it up.

ATF’s Project Gun Runner: An Object Lesson In Corruption, Lies And Cover-ups

Project-Gunrunner-graphic.jpg

“I don’t believe gun owners have rights…”Sarah Brady, Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, October, 1997; “Handguns in America

What is Project Gun Runner? Project Gun Runner is a program implemented by the ATF for the express purpose of interdicting weapons used by the Mexican drug cartels into Mexico. Mexican drug cartels have emerged as the leading illegal gun traffickers in the U.S. First implemented in 2005 as a pilot project in Laredo Texas, the ATF went national with the program in 2006 with the objective of reducing or eliminating cross-border firearms and drug trafficking, as well as the high level of associative violence occurring on both sides of the border.

Project Gun Runner segued an expansion of the ATF’s eTrace firearm tracing software system to Thirty-two nations, a number of which have a demonstrative track record of police corruption anti-gun biases and overt fraud.  eTrace results provides these nations complete and unfettered access to American gun owner’s identities, names, addresses and personal information. Now, why would some government hack in Guyana have some need to access Rick Olson’s ATF purchase trace data? Most likely, none. But having such infrastructure in place would certainly interface well with the machinations of the future U.N. Treaty on Small Arms.

It has also been found that Project Gun Runner has netted an inverse result to its’ original stated purpose.  Senator Charles Grassley, (R) Iowa, initiated an investigation after he received credible evidence that the ATF had facilitated and allowed for the  sale of over 2,500 firearms, consisting of AK-47 rifles, FN 5.7mm pistols, AK-47 pistols, and .50 caliber rifles in ‘straw purchases. Also determined was the destiny of these guns were Mexico. The Phoenix Field Division of the ATF now only allowed but facilitated the sales, despite objections and discomfort of law-abiding Federally Licensed Firearms dealers enlisted to participate following their reports of suspicious purchases.

On December 14, 2010, Customs and Border Protection Agent Brian Terry was on patrol along a smuggling route in Arizona when a firefight erupted and Agent Terry was killed. In the immediate aftermath, assault rifles were recovered at the scene, one of which was traced back to a gun Shop in Arizona. on February 23rd of this year, Insiders told CBS’s Scott Pelley, “(This incident) surpasses the shoot-out at Ruby Ridge and the deadly siege at Waco.”

Special Agent John Dodson accuses the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allegedly let gun runners walk off with weapons – thousands of them – to see if they’d end up in the hands of the cartels, in an ABC News interview. The Justice Department and ATF have denied it ever happened and Senator Grassley went on to further investigate allegations of Retribution against Dodson as a “whistle-blower.”

“United Nations: Where America feeds the hands that bite it” – Gregory Nunn

The Second Amendment debate is a never-ending and ongoing debate that has taken the argument all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. District of Columbia v. Heller, held that the Second Amendment is an individual’s protected right to possess a firearm for lawful purposes in federal enclaves; Purposes such as self-defense within the personal domicile. McDonald v. Chicago,2 was also a landmark Supreme Court decision to determine whether the Second Amendment is applicable to the individual states. Summarily, the Court held an individual’s right to “keep and bear arms” is incorporated by the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment and does in fact apply to states.  It is without dispute that the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution is fundamentally, culturally, and socially a cornerstone of American life, underscoring the natural right of self-defense which is essential to liberty.

As of 1986, thirty-five states had some form of right to carry through licensure. of those thirty-five states, only eight were “shall-issue” states (meaning a license must be issued if no legal reason existed to prohibit such issuance); nineteen of those states were “may-issue” states (meaning the issuing authority could issue or deny upon his or her own discretion) and only one state (Vermont) was unrestricted (meaning no licensure required to carry a firearm concealed or openly). Fifteen states were “no-issue” states.  Meanwhile, Legislatures across the nation acted over the last 25 years.  Presently forty-eight states have some form of right to carry through licensure. Wisconsin and Illinois still do not allow citizens the right to carry guns, nor does the District of Columbia.

A whole lot of people, organizations and groups, have spent time, money and energy to advocate for second amendment issues, pass laws and pave the way for the right to keep and bear arms. Despite this, it totally confounds me why some of our citizens, despite their stated support for the second amendment, still turn around and vote for gun-grabbing liberals like Barack Obama?

Bend It For The Benjamins

As a follow up to this, yesterday or maybe the day before, the NH Journal (NHJ), New Hampshire’s prominent internet news source if the news is whatever Hynes communications is being paid to call news, decided to float a lie called pin the conservative blogger to Jack Kimball.  Someone the NH Journal staff knew would stir the pot was fingered as Kimball’s communications director if he won the job as GOP State party chairman, even though no one–including Kimball and the blogger–knew anything about it until after the digital ink was dry.

The goal for Hynes and Millerick, (owner and editor respectively at NHJ)  appear to have been to send the RINO’s into a mad stampede.  RINO’s stampede easy so it worked.  Some RINO’s were so miffed, and wanting so badly for just such a story to jump on, they picked up the lie and ran with it. (Just like a progressive if that’s not too provocative a statement to make.)

There was a bit of damage control but once it’s out there, it is out there, no different than when CNN or MSNBC does it.  But the story did not end there.
