Gender clinics welcome parent involvement as long as they do what they’re told.
Dartmouth Health recently testified that giving children puberty blockers and hormones is “rendered following consultation with medical and mental health professionals and parents and guardians.” But parents are given one option: social and medical transition.
If Dartmouth Health is right that administering puberty blockers and hormones to boys and girls to try to make them look like the opposite sex is medically necessary, safe, and well-researched, then systematic reviews that say otherwise by France, the United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, and Finland are wrong.
A detransitioner who, as a 14-year-old girl, was coerced into taking testosterone that left her with vaginal atrophy, weak bones, and possible infertility is suing the experts who harmed her for malpractice, civil conspiracy, and fraud.
Pediatricians who aren’t on board with pronouns, puberty blockers, and hormones are guilty of “transphobia” and need help, according to Dartmouth Health staff. On the website for Planned Parenthood in Manchester, New Hampshire, I requested an appointment for “Transgender Hormone Therapy.” When I was prompted for my birthdate, I entered a date in 2006, making me 16-years-old, and the website encouraged me to come into Planned Parenthood to fill out some “special paperwork” to get cross-sex hormones.
On the website for Boston Children’s Hospital gender clinic, the Gender Multispeciality Service (GeMS), it says they “welcome patients from ages 3 to 25.”
You could be the most politically left biggest LGBT ally who has watched every episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Or, you could be the most politically conservative traditional Roman Catholic who attends Mass multiple times a week, or somewhere in between.
