You could be the most politically left biggest LGBT ally who has watched every episode of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Or, you could be the most politically conservative traditional Roman Catholic who attends Mass multiple times a week, or somewhere in between.

No matter your political or religious beliefs, you can understand that kids and teens are not developmentally ready to consent to the permanent changes to their bodies caused by taking puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or removing healthy body parts to look like the opposite sex.
Medical interventions being performed on kids and teens who are gender-confused can lead to infertility and lifelong sexual dysfunction. Every reasonable person can agree that those under 18 are not old enough to understand what the loss of the ability to have sexual relations and to have or father children could mean to them and if they are able and willing to live the rest of their lives with those losses.
Consider the case of Keira Bell who regrets going down the path of medical transition as a 16-year-old. She now has a deep voice, thick facial and body hair, and has had a double mastectomy. Wall Street Journal reporter Abigail Shrier was brave enough to tackle this subject in her book “Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters” about how so many girls are jumping on the bandwagon of identifying as boys to the point it has become a dangerous fad. These girls are anxious and depressed and they want to be part of the “in crowd.” The fastest way for a teen girl to be accepted and find herself a big group of friends is to identify as a boy.

Boston Children’s Hospital provides these horrific medical interventions to children. They have a Gender Multispeciality Service and a Center for Gender Surgery whose purpose to is to try to change the bodies of those as young as age 3 (!) into facsimiles of the opposite sex.
