That’s Just Crazy Talk

The Left began the war on women when a journalist asked Mitt Romney what he thought about states banning contraception.  No state was even considering it.  Neither Romney nor anyone else on the right had ever said anything even remotely related to that.  But from that moment on the question was not only asked by the entire Democrat party, their allies and the media–declared loudly and often–that Republicans, any Republican, if elected, would deny women access to contraception.  Period.

Any discussion about taxpayers not being forced to fund abortions is presumed by Democrats to mean that Republicans want to ban abortion.

Any discussion about spending is presumed by Democrats to mean that Republicans want to punish women, children, the poor or the disabled.

Any discussion about jobs is presumed by Democrats to mean that Republicans want to make 1% of the population richer at the expense of everyone else

And you can apply this model to almost any subject.  No matter what the issue or topic Democrats always paint their opponents with the most extreme position they can think, regardless of evidence.  And if you object to this unfair portrait they just say it louder.

But if Republicans suggest that the Democrats talking about “gun control” means that Democrats want the government to take peoples guns…the Democrats tell us that’s just crazy talk.
