At an Aug. 14 news conference, NASA and other experts proclaimed that, according to “clear science,” current record-high temperatures are attributable to human activity. Yet NASA did not present any scientific evidence to demonstrate a connection between current warm temperatures and greenhouse gas emissions and ignored the massive non-anthropomorphic impact of last year’s record-breaking under-ocean volcano.
Vermonters just witnessed the worst flooding since Irene in 2011, which was the worst flooding since the summer of 1998, which was the worst flooding since 1976, which was the worst flooding since 1938, which was the worst flooding since the most famous of all floods, the one in 1927.
The headline in VT Digger read, “Officials issue warnings about flood-related scams,” and, “Natural disasters make people more vulnerable to scams.” Surely, they do, and Vermonters should indeed be on the lookout for those praying on people’s fears and emotions in the wake of the tragic flooding so many areas of our state are experiencing.
If we’ve said it once, we have said it a thousand times. When it comes to Democrats, there is no such thing as enough. They can’t spend, tax, nag, or infringe enough, and my “neighbors” to the Left continue to prove that true.
Vermont Democrats want to make it easier for employees to form unions in the state, so they’ve introduced legislation that would let workers “decline to attend employer-hosted meetings” without consequence “they are primarily about the employers’ political or religious opinions.”
If you want an example of Democrats being Democrats, the Vermont legislature has one. They are in the process of rewarding themselves (without any public input) for successfully ignoring constituents’ concerns.
Vermont is a poster child for the level of stupid required to embrace the myth of Net Zero, not just rhetorically but actively. They are ramming through a heat standard that can’t be met and that almost none of Vermont’s citizens want.
Manhattan is not underwater, Florida and its Keys look the same, the Maldives have changed (they added more oceanside hotels), and your paltry emissions aren’t going to change that. The Earth is far more complex than the political scientists milking you on its behalf.
And aren’t you just THRILLED with how well your new dishwasher works (sarcasm – I hate mine)? Thanks, Govt, for “looking out for me”! All by our faceless, unaccountable, unelected, and now, REALLY unassailable bureaucrats all in thrall to Global Warming.

There is an editorial over at Digger from a pair of Environmental stakeholders titled “Converting to Electricity is Common Sense.” The premise is that gasoline is never getting cheaper, and “Driving and heating homes and businesses are essential to Vermonters’ standard of living.” [so] “Converting to electricity is common sense in need of government support.”

The Transportation and Climate Initiative is a “regional collaboration of 12 Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states (to) reduce carbon emissions from the transportation sector.” It claims New Hampshire as a partner, but that is currently against the law.
