An Important Letter to New Republican Members of the New Hampshire General Court

On Sunday, October 31st, Erick Erickson posted "An Open Letter to the Freshman Republican Victors" who are about to be elected to Congress. To me, the future of New Hampshire is more important.

In New Hampshire the majority Democrats and their leader Gov. Lynch have done enormous damage over the past four years. The General Court—both House and Senate—will be at the forefront of mending the damage. Accordingly, I’m going to "copy" Erickson’s letter, but change it to apply to the freshman Republicans about to be elected in New Hampshire. Please read it, and send send it to every GOP candidate you know. As Erickson said: "I am putting this up the Sunday before the election because in the noise and hubbub after the election it will be drowned out and it is very, very important."

Lynch-Marched To Who Knows Where

Lynch Destroyed Jobs, Scared off workersNH Employment Services has released its October report for the most recent New Hampshire jobs data and it’s not good for John Lynch.  The state continues to lose its human capital.  The granite state shed another 360 workers in August to parts unknown as the post ‘end of the recession’ exodus of our civilian workforce rose to 16,550.  So from July 2009 to Aug 2010, 16,550 people gave up looking for work in John Lynch’s New Hampshire, ‘Lynch-Marched’ right out of our local job market. That doesn’t happen in a healthy pro job-growth environment.  If John Lynch and the democrats were really doing their political ‘best’ the Civilian work force would be rising as people felt compelled to come here to look for work because more business and industry though of New Hampshire as a business friendly environment.  But it’s not.  It’s hostile.

I Got Me Some Love From The NHDP

I have to say I’m flattered that the New Hampshire Democrat party would actually write a press release about something I wrote.  I’m touched.  Too bad it has the usual heavy handed ignorance that comes pre-configured in the left wing narrative. The object, as usual, was to get Republicans to decline Granite Grok’s endorsements or declare me to be the hateful misogynist they wish I was.  They seem to think this matters or will have any effect on their impending doom.

If it makes you feel any better it wont.  But this does prove that you are all still a bunch of raging hypocrites, which I will continue to go out of my way to point out at every opportunity.

So how badly has the NHDP muffed this would be smear.  It’s pretty bad.

Stephen Hayward at the Weekly Standard estimated that every $10/barrel added to the price of oil costs the defense department (and you) one billion dollars more per year.

“D” is for Drive – er, but not to the local Pawn shop

My response to Pat Wood’s Letter in the Laconia Daily Sun today (P 9):

To the Editor,

Mr. Wood in his Letter (10/28, p9) rightly points out that the voters took the keys away from the Republicans in 2006 for behaving like Democrats and increased the size of Government and its spending (contrary to Republican philosophy) and gave them to actual Democrats. Properly taken to woodshed and chastised by the distributed uprising of people supporting and sympathizing with the ideals of TEA Party / back to Constitutionally limited government movement, Republicans seem to be "getting it" (those not, have been "primaried out").

However, the "D" Pat defines is Drive to national bankruptcy (to the tune of almost $3 Trillion in annual deficits in two years) – not exactly a promising "progressing forward", is it? President Obama has said that he won’t give the keys back, that Republicans must "ride in the back" even when they retake the majority in Washington. 

Moral to the Progressive Democrats: taking the keys away was the right thing at the time;  Obama thinking it was alright to walk them over to the Pawn shop  is not.

Separation Of State…from Church.

Let me be clear.  My towns middle school does not do all that bad a job covering the US constitution.  I can say this mostly because they actually cover it for a few weeks, during an exploration of American history and the founding of the nation.   But being either a victim of or party to the kinds of support materials embedded into the public education system, I still manage to find a few ringers that make me shake my head and smile.

Not too long ago I regaled you on these pages with the tale of just such a ringer on the Middle Schools ‘citizenship quiz,’ where it asked the question, where does free speech come from?  The correct answer is of course, ‘our creator,’ who provided us with a set of unalienable rights that exist even in the vacuum of the necessary evil of government.  But that’s not the answer they were looking for.  They expect you to write ‘The 1st amendment.’ This is of course incorrect.  It assumes people could not speak freely prior 1791 when the bill of rights was ratified which is why I  am forever reminding my children that the US Constitution does not give rights, it protects them.

Which brings me to this newly discovered Gem. Yesterday I came across a series of poorly worded essay questions—my second sons homework–the worst of which was this; What part of Article VI of the US constitution supports the idea of separation of church and state? Explain. (Go ahead and roll your eyes or make a grunting noise, or whatever it is you do when confronted with such nonsense.)

Urgent Message For Pro-Choice Voters

These words, URGENT MESSAGE FOR PRO CHOICE VOTERS, appear on the front of a letter from ‘New Hampshire for John Lynch 10.’  The letter, (scanned image available on the jump) is addressed to my wife, who is a registered Republican by the way.  It is both a declaration and an attack.

It declares the Lynch commitment to choice.

I am proudly pro choice.  As Governor, I have stood firmly in support of protecting the rights of women to make their own private medical decisions.  I repealed an unconstitutional law that put the reproductive health and safety of women at risk.

Interesting. Would those be 13 year old "women?"
