Does My Generation Have a Role in America’s Future?

A corrupt government that controls virtually everything, growing crime rates, and few people that mean to do good things.  Face the facts: we live in a world that’s not perfect and can never become perfect.  One thing we can do is make the world a little bit better.  This is the duty of our generation.

Our generation is the future.  This means that we need to plan ahead to be able to change the bad policies and corrupt government.  We are already seeing it all around us.  Rising taxes, inflation, a failed stimulus package, and selfish, self-seeking politicians.  We need to recognize and understand these failures so we are able to fulfill our duty and fix them.  The reasons for tax hikes in this country are failed stimuluses, government control, and raising salaries for Congressmen.  The politicians are concealing their back-room deals and their first priority is not the people they are supposed to be representing.  They are trying to get money for themselves.  The government is corrupt and it needs to be changed.  This is part of my generation’s duty.

I am the person who will change the future.  I am…

… the future president of the United States.  I am the world peace with other countries.  I am America, and this is the duty I am supposed to fulfill.  Whether it is in cold or heat, in poverty or wealth, or in weakness or strength, I am to fulfill my duty.  I live my life not to sleep through the cold with no blankets, not to know where my next meal is coming from, and to be weak from lack of food.  No, this isn’t how I live my life.  I live my life to have blankets, become wealthy, and to be strong.  We need to do work to be prosperous.  It says in Proverbs, “Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase.”  For these reasons, I focus my duty on prosperity.

I feel bad for the veterans who have given up time for their country, done their generation’s duty, and fulfilled every command from drill sergeant to general.  These are the type of men you see homeless on the side of the street.  You hear people say, “Be kind to our veterans.”  But when you take a second and look around you see the same people just standing there waiting for someone to help.  Booker T. Washington once said, “If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.”  This truth doesn’t hold evident in today’s society.  People think that, “Oh, he must have a place to live so I will not stop.”  They do not stop and they do not ask.  These veterans are left out on the street.  It is the duty of our generation to recognize and understand these ignorances.

There are many reasons my generation has a role in my country’s future.  The Founding Fathers had a role, my grandmother had a role, my father has a role, and now I have the role of making sure we have life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and making sure we do not turn into a socialistic nation.  If our generation will not take a role then nobody will take it for us.  The main reason for this is that I need to see what my grandparents saw.  Our country is slowly drifting closer and closer towards socialism.  We are eventually going to lose our freedom.  Wordsworth said, “Plain living and high thinking are no more.”  This can refer to the fact that if we just keep living our lives regularly we will not get anything done.  If we step up to the plate and fulfill our role we can make a huge difference.  It is the duty of my generation to make sure we do not turn into a socialistic nation.

What did the Founding Fathers fight for?  Why did Patrick Henry say, “Give me liberty or give me death?”  He said this because he knew if they had liberty they would have the pursuit of happiness and life.  Why was World War II fought?  It was fought to preserve our freedom, all around the world.  We need to follow in the Founding Fathers footsteps.  This is the duty of our generation.

America’s freedom is unique.  We have freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of assembly, and freedom of religion.  Men fought for these freedoms that we still have.  Will we be able to hold on to these freedoms much longer? This is up to the younger generation.  Yes, we should see that we have a role.  We need to see that preserve our freedom, we need to show people that if they can do it, so can we.

Co-founder of GraniteGrok, my concern is around Individual Liberty and Freedom and how the Government is taking that away. As an evangelical Christian and Conservative with small "L" libertarian leanings, my fight is with Progressives forcing a collectivized, secular humanistic future upon us. As a TEA Party activist, citizen journalist, and pundit!, my goal is to use the New Media to advance the radical notions of America's Founders back into our culture.
