GrokTV Special Interviews from OccupyNH (Occupy Wall Street): Ben DiZoglio

Another person at the Occupy Wall Street / OccupyNH rally yesterday in Manchester was Ben DiZoglio.  As opposed to Leah and Mirav, he seemed genuinely attached to the movement here. He had noticed that I was recording the event and offered that since they now had some power, offered an outlet for use (unfortunately I had left the AC brick at home). Since several others had refused to do interviews (I figured out, partially, why later on), I requested an interview to find out why he was there and was looking to see what some of the difference were between OWS and the TEA Party movements:

When I got home, I decided to Google his name and found out that he was a student at Plymouth State (an athlete on the baseball team) and had written an Op Ed for the Nashua Telegraph this summer:

At every tea party rally I’ve ever gone to, veterans tend to be given positions of honor and are either asked to speak or, at the very least, are recognized.

The message, of course, is the people who protect our country should be praised for their service. Often these humble veterans will say the true heroes are those who sacrificed everything for their country.

But then the political speeches begin…

Signs from OccupyNH (Occupy Wall Street) rally in Manchester

I think back to the signs at the TEA Party events and most were funny, a play on words, and with a point against the growth of government and the socialization of risk taken (instead of letting folks and corporations fail for bad decisions made). 

Somehow,I believe this sign sets the tone for this movement built on class envy and growing the size of government:

Now, every movement has its nutcases, and this one will be no different, and I laugh that the Obama/Hitler signs by the Lynden LaRouche folks are now showing up at OWS sites and becoming THEIR problem as they did for the TEA Party events.  But this "Eat the Rich" meme (and the associated meme being "kill them first") is being seen all over the country (and the world).  Make no mistake, the "rich" are being targeted and scapegoated for being successful; envy is a powerful emotion.

GrokTV Event from OccupyNH (Occupy Wall Street): Random Clips

Here are some other video clips from yesterday’s OccupyNH (Occupy Wall Street)’s rally in Manchester.  Somethings that struck me as I re-watched the clips (in random order):

  • 0:30 – It’s a bit weird to listen to the "human microphone" fashion of speaking at these gatherings.  Speak 3-6 words, let the audience repeat it. I guess they believe regressing from using a bullhorn / PA system is progress.  It also seems to enforce the collectivist outlook – everyone, the same words, the same time, all the time…..to evoke the same thoughts?
  • 0:50 – It is very weird, in the beginning, to seemingly have to have an entire crowd decide how to use Porta-potties; I kinda thought in this day and age that pretty much most adults would have the proper decorum.

Not only have you had more coverage, but also more favorable coverage.

  • 4:26 – Oxymoron: "The 99% is everywhere".  Er, isn’t that true just by definition?  But isn’t it just a bit much that you, the 0.00001%, have decided you can speak for the rest of us?
  • 7:17- Will Manchester Mayor Gatsas really allow this crowd to camp out in Victory Park all winter in tents?  Have they pulled the permits and paid the fees?  Will they have to follow all sanitary and food handling ordinances?
  • 13:23 – I am still bothered by this "sign of hate and violence" (best seen at 17:58).  Watch the video to see that this is not an outlier holding it – it is right in the heart of their gathering in a "drum circle" (ok, more like a hazy grouping, but hey….). Not one person said "get rid of it, it’s hateful and  offensive".  I guess Political Correctness is only determined by who says it…
  • 18:24 – my favorite part:  Organizers cracking down on an "individual thought and action", stripping away individual initiative.  Must not act alone unless we all act together (and we will ensure that it happens by use of the "agenda / process" of the "human microphone".

You know, I DO have a great reason for the OWS folks to keep using the "human microphone" – it is FAR easier to transcribe what they say when they automatically repeat what was said a second time.

Ron Paul Supporter – “Please pollute the GOP Primary”

I have been alarmed in the past when people have told me, back in 2008, that they liked either Obama or Ron Paul.  I couldn’t figure out how they made that leap.  A few years on and I’m not all that surprised anymore.  They both evoke a cult like following that scares the crap out of me.  (Reagan fanatics scare me a bit too.) Screw policy differences, and to hell with being right on even 80% of the issues–it is a cult of personality and I do not care what party you claim to be in, that is dangerous.

Here’s a recent example from facebook.  A proud Ron Paul Supporter, whom I shall not name, is begging Democrats to register as Republicans (today is the last day) so they can vote for Ron Paul.

Response to Attacks on Republicans for PAYGO

To the Editor:

Apparently I can read better than Mr. Veverka can hear.  In his October 6th letter in the Laconia Daily Sun, Mr. Veverka adamantly assured us the term “TEA Party” did not exist in the Hightower article referenced by my letter.  “TEA Party” can found near the beginning of paragraph 8.  

The focus of my letter was on the TEA Party, what it is and isn‘t, its criticisms of both parties and wasteful government operations, and its focus on principles, not political party.  My letter was inspired by the Hightower column, the most recent (at the time) attempt to malign the TEA Party and its principles.  

Hightower’s article and Veverka’s letter are just partisan attack pieces.  It is  a common liberal technique to attack anyone who tries to stop or even slow the growth of government.  Anyone who won’t cave to whatever liberals demand will be smeared.  It doesn’t matter whether the program works, is worth the cost, is counter-productive, or is affordable.

What Would Carol SEIU-Porter Do? (WWCSPD?) -Panama Edition

Congress passed three trade deals yesterday which reminded of the words of a previous Democrat Congresswoman from CD-1 in New Hampshire.  (note: original press link dead)

 

This disconnect between the Panama FTA and the current needs to restore our economy will make any vote on this FTA difficult to justify.

She goes on to suggest it would not be good for the US or create jobs.  Everything else the left voted on in 2009 would supposedly "create jobs" and didn’t, but something that actually would? Can’t support that.

HR 3079 and it passed the House 300-126, meaning some Democrats had to vote for it.  Most likely those in more contested districts.Panama

But back in the day when the Democrats controlled all of the Federal government, and Republicans we were told were destined for the dustbin of history,  Carol–who get’s most of her funding from Unions and Union funded Democrat Leadership PAC’s,–believed what she was told by Nancy Pelosi, in direct opposition to the obvious.  Letting us trade freely in Panama would hurt the US job market.  And the entire Democrat party line on Free Trade, top to bottom, was the union line.  It will cost American jobs.  Don’t send jobs overseas.

But as I pointed out here, the Panama agreement simply made it easier for us to sell goods in Panama by lifting tariffs and opening their market to us.  A longstanding disadvantage that Democritus believe turns less on whether it is true and more–in the case of Obama– on if the campaign optics are good.

That Rich Bastard Who Is Screwing The Teachers Over Is Actually…

There is a graphic going around, no doubt becasue of the OWS class-warfare hippy-fest, that asks why we wold cut teachers pay 20% instead of asking millionaires to give a little more.    This is of course dishonest on several levels.

A few quick observations. No one is asking teachers to give up 20% of their wages and I challenge anyone who pays school taxes to find me an example of it.  The job creators already front 70% of all taxes from which teachers are paid so if anyone needs to pony up it is the rest of us.  And most importantly, the problem isn’t the wealthy it is the federal government.  Since Obama took office the Department of Education’s budget has gone from 35 Billion a year (That’s BILLION), to 70 Billion. ($70,000,000,000.00).  That’s 389 million per school day if you run on a 180 day calendar.

The rich bastard that is screwing teachers is not on Wall Street.  The richest bastard of all is the US Government’s Department of Education.

Ever wonder who all those Czars are that Obama is reported to have appointed? (There are 45 of them.)  Well, Judaical Watch has produced a report on Obama’s Czars, and it’s very instructive.

Do we really need all these czarsWant to relive some of the juicy details of his most controversial appointments or their departures?  It’s in there.

How did Obama by-pass Senate confirmations? How about some discussion on the Constitutionality and transparency issues surrounding powerful "officers" of the Executive branch who wield significant budgets and power?  You’ll find something to entertain you.

NH Wind Farm Project Comes With Inside Deal Making?

NH Wind and Jeanne Shaheen KickbacksThere is a major Wind farm project underway in Coos county.  The principle players are GraniteWind, which is owned by Brookfield Renewable Power and a company called Freshet Wind Energy. (more on them in a moment)

Brookfield has gotten press recently because Brookfield Properties (same company) owns Zucotti Park where the #OWS hippies are hanging out.  Mayor Bloomberg girlfriend sits on Brookfield’s board, and George Soros and some other big Democrat Donors are heavily invested in Brookfield, which has just received a $168 million dollar Federal Green energy loan for the New Hampshire Wind farm project courtesy of the US Department of Energy, which was lobbied by the firm run by Joe Biden’s son, Hunter.

Just about everyone is short stroking that set of circumstances, and it is far too convenient to seem like a random coincidence, but there is a New Hampshire connection that is far more interesting if you just take the time to dig a little bit deeper.

Is The NH Dem Petition Against Baldasaro A Fraud?

If you missed it, a State party Democrat (David Robinson), speaking for a left wing Veterans group (VoteVets.org) is part and parcel to an effort by the New Hampshire Democrat Party to petition House Speaker O’Brien to remove Republican Al Baldasaro as Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee. None of the reporting to date, other than here at GraniteGrok, has identified the group or Robinson as Democrat-backed or connected. But there’s news about the petition they plan to give to O’Brien.

If you go to Change.org, you can see the petition set up by the New Hampshire Democrat Party, but the list of signatories is not accessible just by visiting the petition page. One thing we do know however is that of the ten names we can see, seven of them are from out of state.

NH Dems Target ‘Free State Project.’

Manchester City Democrats are concerned.  People need to know which candidates in City races have links to the Free State Project, so they’ll "know where they stand on the issues." (From the Tuesday morning edition of the Union Leader)

It sounds like the folks at the Suckley (Sullivan/Buckley) School for Orwellian Linguistics are using peoples lack of knowledge about the liberty movement to frighten them out of voting for anyone they can label as a Free Stater. 

Guilt by association.  Prejudice.  Create division. Fear mongering narrative. Typical.

Of course we could never in a million years suggest that the gentleman crapping on a police car at the Occupy Wall Street (Democrat Party Endorsed) protest, is in any way an example of the Democrat Party.  (Looks like he’s trying to pass ObamaCare.) The trash, the arrests.  Then of course there are other recent union protests, violent threats, wishing rape and violence on Republican Women, video games where you get to kill Republican ‘Zombies,’ calling Republicans Racists for liking a conservative candidate who happens to be black–while calling the black man a monkey in a window…Can you find any prominent New Hampshire Democrats who have spoken out against any of the ill heaped on their opponents?  Probably not.  That is because they support it.

DOES THE GOVERNMENT HAVE YOU UNDER SURVEILLANCE?

Perhaps some will read this and the knee-jerk reaction might be, “Oh, there goes one of those tin-foil-lined hat rants again…Like the government doesn’t have anything better to do than watch, “me.” Perhaps on some level, thinking of the government having citizens under surveillance harkens back to Soviet-style citizen oppression, much less being an inefficient and wasteful use of valuable resources.  This issue, however, focuses on the incidental happenstance of average citizens and the likelihood of being caught up in something few contemplate or even envision.

You’re watching the news and a story about bombs and explosives airs and part of the interview features some law enforcement mouthpiece claiming, “The bomb was constructed from instructions readily available on the internet…and materials bought at local hardware and home goods retailers…” You have never given thought about building a bomb, much less how to build one. So, being bored you grab your laptop and Google, “How to build a bomb” Sorting through the various hits the topic garners, you spend all of ten minutes searching and reading. All you really want to know is if the claims made have any credibility.

ONE Vote NH Censoring Facebook Comments?

ONE Campaing is a globalist shamMy Objection to the underlying agenda of the ONE Campaign should be well known.  ONE is part and parcel with the UN Millennium Goals (MDG) which use poverty (in the case of ONE Campaign) to milk western democracies in support of global governance and the entire UN MDG agenda.  (Ugly details here, and here)

Why bring it up?  Recent remarks were posted on the ONE Campaign New Hampshire Facebook page asking if their group was the same one that promoted global redistribution of wealth.  A follow-up comment indicated that this was correct.  Both were promptly "vanished."  Deleted from the page.  Kind of the way political opponents are ‘vanished’ in many of the countries struck by the kind of poverty ONE campaign claims to be fighting against.

No arguments to the contrary?  No debate.  No challenge to the assumption that ONE is party to global redistribution of wealth or is connected to the UN and its Millennium Development Goals agenda? An agenda that would deny the right to self defense, implement anti-American treaties and awful UN education policies (to name but a few)?  Just delete the comments and hope it goes away?

Oops.  That’s not going to happen.
