A Solar Plant didn’t just go bankrupt after wasting millions in Democrat backed Green energy stimulus, it left a hazardous wasteland for taxpayers to clean up as well…

The Abound Solar plant, which got $400 million in federal loan guarantees in 2010, when the Obama administration sought to use stimulus funds to promote green energy, filed for bankruptcy two years later. Now its Longmont, Colo., facility sits unoccupied, its 37,000 square feet littered with hazardous waste, broken glass and contaminated water. The Northern Colorado Business Report estimates it will cost up to $3.7 million to clean and repair the building so it can again be leased.

“As lawyers, regulators, bankruptcy officials and the landlord spar over the case, the building lies in disrepair, too contaminated to lease,” the report stated.

The same administration that has lied about so much, so publicly, so often, and in such grand fashion, about so many things, defending them viciously, now expect us to believe that the explanation for the lies they told about ObamaCare, should themselves be believed?

Should we clear our schedules six months down the road for a “we admit to the lies about the lies about ObamaCare” event?  We could do it every six months.  It would be more popular than the State of the Union.  We could call it the latest lies about the lies about ObamaCare summit.  Or how about we just call it The Two-Minutes hate.

As I type this the committee meeting at which the Democrat House Rep and House Criminal Justice and Safety Committee Chair, Laura Pantelakos said, and I quote, “I Don’t Care About Protecting People’s Liberty” is still underway.  (They are discussing HB675 – Another Dep’ty Dawg Shurtleff gem- Authorizing License Plate readers.)

But that is nice to know.  The Democrat Chair of the New Hampshire House Criminal Justice Committee doesn’t care about protecting people’s liberty.  Ain’t that sweet, that little unguarded moment of honesty.

The remarks were immediately contested by Republican House Reps, to which Pantelakos responded, “people are entitled to their opinion.”  I’m glad you said that Democrat Rep Pantelakos because that means I am entitled to mine, about you.

Given the absolutely putrifying shellacking that the Progressives, the Democrats, and the Media have been doing on the TEA Party, I thought this was a “no contest” comparison.  After all:

• Obama represents the Socialist wing of America – fundamentally transforming America away from its roots by his use of an activist government machine to a governance model that demands that The State be forced to do things – implementing “Positive Rights” for you via a repudiation of the “negative Rights” of our founding.
• The TEA Party wishes a governance model that allows Citizens to live their live uncoerced by Government activities and whose 3 Principles are:
  • limited government
  • Free Markets
  • Constitutional values

Well, when I watched “Special Report” tonite and heard George Will say that line, I told myself that I had to transcribe it – and then Isurfed that The Corner had it already:

Now that’s a clunky verb. What he means is he should have put a big asterisk over his statement, and the asterisk would say, ‘You can keep your insurance if but only if you buy the insurance that we think you ought to have,’ which reveals the part of ObamaCare that is applied Bloombergism. The mayor of New York’s been a very candid progressive. He says, ‘I know what you ought to eat, I know what you ought to drink, and I’m going to use the police power of the city to make you do it.’ And ObamaCare says exactly the same thing: You’re free to choose if you choose the right thing.

Also a perfect summarization of Progressivism: I know what you ought to eat, I know what you ought to drink, and I’m going to use the police power of the city to make you do it.’ And ObamaCare says exactly the same thing: You’re free to choose if you choose the right thing.  And they get to choose what is that “right thing“.

How many reports have you seen about how well the stock market is doing?  Seeing as it has been propped up by the Feds for several years why wouldn’t it be doing great, and it is.  And yes, that bubble too must burst, with little effect on the Governing class and a whole lot of hurt for the rest of us.  But the Democrat plan all along was to pretend they were pro-economy while making sure they did not appear to be in charge when it falls apart as it must.   This means that they could have the White House and a majority control of congress and still insist that when it failed, whatever it is, it is not their fault.

Having had majority control of the Government for the past seven years has not stopped them from blaming everyone else for things they passed proudly that have since failed or will.  Any future debacle will be similarly spun.

Steve brought us the plight of 3 month pregnant Jennifer Harris to us.  Seemingly, she had the TANSTAAFL moment when she got the bill from her brand new OppressiveCare policy (emphasis mine):

Now [Jennifer] Harris, a self-employed lawyer, must shop for replacement insurance. The cheapest plan she has found will cost her $238 a month. She and her husband don’t qualify for federal premium subsidies because they earn too much money, about $80,000 a year combined.

“It doesn’t seem right to make the middle class pay so much more in order to give health insurance to everybody else,” said Harris, who is three months pregnant. “This increase is simply not affordable.”

Jennifer Harris at least has the ability to pay the 262% increase in premiums that the Democrat’s forward looking vision for health care has delivered unto us. Well, I assume she does. She lives in California. $80K/year doesn’t buy as much in the PRC as other parts of the country.

She has come smack right up to that ill-named notion of “Free Money” up close and personal – nothing concerning money is “free”.  Too bad that doesn’t happen more often – that the decisions and votes made by greedy Politicians aren’t brought home more often so that “producers and earners” can watch their hard earned money waft out their doors and windows.  That sense of “someone else will pay” is going to hurt a whole lot more people people just because Obama and Progressives DO wish to hurt others by redistributing their hard earned Private Property.  Folks like Jennifer Harris (and Bernadette Loesch of Laconia) are going to quickly learn that Progressives (like Willy Sutton before them) are now reaching to where the real money is – the middle class (Sutton merely picked on banks; at least he was honest about his thieving ways).
