Today Gabby Gifford’s and her puppeteer husband Mark Kelly were in New Hampshire with their gun control organization Americans for Responsible Solutions to push gun control. The tour is called “Protecting All Women” yet when women who aren’t far left wing gun grabbers attempted to sit in on the meeting, they were asked to leave.

Not only was the whereabouts of the meeting not announced until this morning but when the location was discovered and women who are for 2nd Amendment rights wanted to simply listen in on the conversation, they were kicked out of the meeting. Gifford’s group Americans for Responsible Solutions no longer announces where they will be pushing gun control on their website. According to NH Journal this morning in reference to the meeting and Giffords:

She [Giffords] will be joined by New Hampshire women leaders, law enforcement officials and domestic violence prevention advocates for a roundtable discussion.

Among those participating will be state Reps. Katherine Rogers, Sylvia Gale and Jan Schmidt, as well as Nicole Brooks of the Nashua Police Dept., Rose-Marie Balboni, a prosecutor with the Hillsborough County Attorney’s Office and Monica Zulauf, president and CEO of YWCA-New Hampshire.

Except Giffords wasn’t joined by all NH women leaders. There were no leaders from any women’s pro-2nd Amendment organizations invited. There were no NH women leaders from any of the gun owners’ organizations in the state. There were no women leaders from the Republican Party asked to the table and the very far left wing Zandra Rice Hawkins from Granite State Progress was invited.

That would be that hack group that has been unethically (IMHO) attacking another woman, Republican Marilinda Garcia running for US Congress in NH’s CD-2 on all kinds of topics in absolutely execrable fashions (proving that Democrats only care about women that might vote for them but CERTAINLY not those running against them – hypocrites!).  Thus, proving that Giffords and her husband aren’t just about taking guns away from one of the safest States in the Union, but simply just another Liberal / hackorama group trying to masquerade as “practical” when all their actions scream “You need to be controlled!”.  But I digress – here is the presser:

Today Gabby Giffords and her group Americans for Responsible Solutions came to New Hampshire to meet with women leaders and discuss guns and domestic violence. They have named their tour “Protect All Women” except Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly have neglected to include all women in their roundtable discussion.

Since the Granite State was just named the “Safest State in America”, the Women’s Defense League believes that Giffords has simply come to a state she doesn’t know to push gun control legislation that New Hampshire doesn’t need or want.

CDC Wins Big Budget Deal

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will see an 8.2 percent budget increase for fiscal 2014, thanks to a $1.1 trillion spending bill announced by Congress Jan. 13.

This influx of cash will raise the CDC budget to $6.9 billion, which is $567 million more than it received in 2013. This is more than the agency anticipated, because the president’s fiscal year 2014 budget request for it was just $6.6 billion — a decrease of $270 million from fiscal 2012.

Of the $6.9 billion, $1.3 billion was allocated to protect the United States from foreign and domestic threats, both intentional and naturally occurring. $255 million will go to support bio-defense efforts, and $160 million will be set aside for states to address their most pressing public health needs. The CDC will get $30 million for Advanced Molecular Detection (AMD), which will help identify potential disease outbreaks earlier and more accurately.

Obama requested a CDC Budget Decrease.  He wanted them to get $270 million less dollars in 2014.  Republicans voted to give the CDC $567 Million more dollars.

Here in NH, the NH GOP is all happy talk – and I’m not all that sure it is warranted and I will be honest, I am cautiously pessimistic.  It does me no good to reverse my predictions (lose the Gov, lose the Senator, maybe pick up one of the Congressional seats, effectively lose the NH Senate (heck, one could say that with Nancy Stiles, they lost it last time anyways and then the rest of the Rogue Republicans just put that condition on STEROIDS with the Democrats’  Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion, the broad based gas tax, and implementing their mini-DISCLOS Act (aka, SB120), can one really tell much of a difference?  And with NH Senate Republican Majority PAC blowing tons of donor money to prop up direly flawed candidates (that would be David “I don’t know if I was drunk” Boutin and Nancy Stiles) in the Primary, well, the message has been sent.  It seems that the egg on my face may well be the NH House – but th game ain’t finished until its finished and it is STILL not clear the GOP has the GOTV capability that the Dems have (with Catalist and their allied groups).

So, I’ve been putting up other folks’s writings that encapsulate why Conservatives and the Liberty & Freedom folks all over the country are loath to support GOP candidates based on what the Grand Old Party has done to them.  Let’s get real – people are no longer to support your candidates after you’ve beat them about the head and shoulders and told “we don’t want your kind”.  From the National Review’s Campaign Spot (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Poll: Shaheen 48 Percent, Brown 46 Percent

Republican challenger Scott Brown is within the margin of error in New Hampshire’s Senate race, according to a new poll.

A new Survey USA/High Point University survey shows Democratic incumbent Jeanne Shaheen winning 48 percent of the vote to Brown’s 46 percent among likely voters. The poll has a 3.5 percent margin of error.

Crawling closer.  But this poll was conducted before Scott really thumbed the eyes of the Pro-life folks here in NH, many of which are in the GOP base with his ad that:

• Made it absolutely clear that he is pro-abortion
• Made it absolutely clear that he has no problem in making these Pro-life folks participate in those abortions by funneling their tax money to Planned Parenthood.

And this make him different from Jeanne Shaheen….how?  And no,

I touched on this briefly last Saturday on the air with NH House candidate Josh Moore; SEIU backed NH House Republican Kathleen ‘Union Agenda’ Stroud was the ninth “man” on an eight man roster in Merrimack, NH, losing her primary challenge by a mere 24 votes.

I can say I did my part in conversation with a number of locals about the problem Stroud presents and the presence of a good alternative.  I don’t think I swung 24, but I moved the needle.  (It has been a mission of mine.)

Republicans who support forced unionization are funding the entire Democrat agenda.  Union Bosses have spent trillions on Democrats over the years, regardless of what members believe.   They are the biggest financiers of Democrat campaigns, and funnel huge sums to the New Hampshire Democrat party and its candidates.

Environmental protesters showed up outside the office of a Wisconsin power company (Madison Gas & Electric- MG&E) to protest the offense of energy made possible by cheap and abundant resources.  They were demanding that the power company mix in more wind and solar because keeping rates that low would disincentivize customers from considering more expensive green energy alternatives.

High Point University in North Carolina did a survey in NC, CO, and NH.  Some of the questions covered issues that come up often so I synopsized some of the NH results and posted the entire pdf on the jump.  These are the NH results only for the 824 likley voters surveyed.

63% to 32% said the country was “seriously off on the wrong track.”

54%-41% Disapprove of Obama

48%-47% Disapprove of Jeanne Shaheen  (5% don’t know or did not answer)

48%-46% Shaheen over Brown if the election were today.  (5% don’t know or did not answer)
