Any Republican agreeing to allow Stephanopoulous moderate their debate is just plain cracked

From Big Government: Stephanopoulos will be hosting Thursday night’s debate between former Sen. Scott Brown and Shaheen, despite this conflict—he’s on video as a political activist accepting Shaheen’s endorsement of President Clinton—and another conflict. As Breitbart News reported on Tuesday, Stephanopoulos has a longtime personal and political relationship with Shaheen campaign adviser Mandy Grunwald.

Remember that – asking Romney about States Rights’ and whether or not they could take away contraceptives?  Certainly a “Democrat with a by-line”; that was the opening shot of the “War on Women” and Georgie as the point of the spear of the Democrat Party that night during the 2008 Republican Prez debates.  Planned, executed, ambush complete – a meme that the Dems are still using.  And as a “journalist”, he executed what the Democrat Party wanted – after all, he was Clinton’s Whiz Kid in the White House and once political, always political.

(October 30, 2014) – Today, the American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) filed a federal lawsuit in New Hampshire against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on behalf of Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire, claiming the IRS is unlawfully delaying the release of records between the IRS and U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) who demanded the IRS investigate conservative organizations for engaging in “political activities.”

The lawsuit requests the federal court to order the IRS to release the records. Led by Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, the American Center for Law & Justice is headquartered in Washington, D.C.

If the Republicans actually take the Senate, does ANYONE seriously think this will happen?

Just like the hue and cry, the sturm und drang that Republicans in both chambers that promised, over and over, that Obamacare would be repealed just as soon as they controlled the US House and Senate.  You surely must remember that back in 2010 and 2012, right?  Number one rally cry, number one campaign promise, number one fund raiser line (methinks in hindsight, only the last one was pertinent).  Now, what does “Maybe soon to be Senate Majority Leader” McConnell say about that repeal?

On Obamacare, McConnell stated “obviously, he’s [Obama’s] not going to sign a full repeal, but there are pieces of it that are extremely unpopular with the American public that the senate ought to have a chance to vote on, repealing the medical device tax, trying to restore the 40-hour workweek, voting on whether or not we should continue the individual mandate, which people hate, detest and despise.”

Jeanne Shaheen …Crossed NH’s Southern Border, Currently MIA to Actual NH Residents

SHAHEEN crossed the BORDERJeanne Shaheen is taking heat for her Scott Brown border crossing quip in their last debate.  But not (IMHO) for the right reasons.

Shaheen quipped “we sort of let this guy [her Republican opponent Scott Brown] sneak over the southern border. You’ve probably noticed that we’ve been debating border security a little bit in this campaign.  Clearly we didn’t do enough to secure the southern border of New Hampshire,” on Monday.

1) Shaheen crossed the same border, from just as far south (farther technically) , she just did it before Brown.  (I wonder if she is prepared to claim native status or that she is 1/32nd Josiah Bartlett or something…)

Priorities – elections are about Priorities. This one is about Obama’s

Let’s revisit this from my last post, shall we?

Remember what Obama said when you go to the polls on Tuesday: “I am not on the ballot this fall.  Michelle’s pretty happy about that.  But make no mistake: these policies are on the ballot.  Every single one of them.”

No matter where you happen to be or how many of them you cast.

Elections have consequences and so do the people who are voted into office.  Tuesday, we get to decide all over again.  Steve Hayes at the Weekly Standard (I love listening to him on the roundtables on FNC’s Special Report – smart, insightful guy) makes it clear this election is all about an Obama activist Govt and how it has not worked.  I’ve reformatted and bullet listed his points for emphasis:

  • Not only is this election not about nothing, it is being fought over exactly the kinds of things that ought to determine our elections.
  • It’s about the size and scope of government.
  • It’s about the rule of law.
  • It’s about the security of the citizenry.
  • It’s about competence.
  • It’s about integrity.
  • It’s about honor.
  • It’s about a government that makes promises to those who have defended the country and then fails those veterans, again and again and again.

Calling Mr. Bette Lasky! You have a steal-a-like twin – stealing Campaign signs!

Democrat Elliot Lasky Stealing Campaign SignsOr, that would be Dr. Elliot Lasky.  You know, the husband of current (at the time, former) NH State Senator Bette Lasky – the guy that was caught redhanded pulling up Republican campaign signs (Steve had the news here, here, and here)?

Well, he has a counterpart in Delaware – except there, the police are actually following the law and are trying to arrest his butt:

Police in Middletown, Delaware, issued an arrest warrant for the husband of state Sen. Bethany Hall-Long on Wednesday after he was caught on video allegedly stealing campaign signs put up by Republicans.  The suspect, identified as Dana Armon Long, has been charged with a Class A misdemeanor for theft under $1,500. He faces up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $2,300.

On Wednesday, Republican campaign volunteers reportedly set up a camera at the location in Middletown where dozens of their political signs kept disappearing. Some of the signs apparently read, “Fix the Economy! Vote Republican.”

“We got you, brother! We got the license plate, your face, and everything,” one of the volunteers says in the video.

“but whether it works” – Part “paying to watch grass grow” – Obama Federal Govt “working”?

grass growing$10K for cutting grass?  Or is this a case of having too much money to put into the Govt feeding trough? Sure – with all of the land that the Feds own (especially out West – why doesn’t it sell it to the States and to individuals so as to pay down, in part, our humungous debt?) I can see that – taking care of what you own.  But this?  Seriously?  Emphasis mine, reformatted:

The Department of Interior’s U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is spending $10,000 on the project being conducted in the Guana-Tolomato-Matanzas preserve by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).  The money will “cover the cost to monitor grasses, restore two acres as a demonstration and publish a guide on best practices for cultivating the cordgrass, known formally as Spartina alternifora”.

Angry Annie Kuster – You Don’t Know What’s Best But I Do.

You might not have thought it possible but Ann Kuster (one of the strongest supporters of Obama in Congress) was even MORE combative, and rude in the final debate than she was in the previous one.   This is an interesting tack from someone who has otherwise been invisible to New Hampshire’s equivalent of Joe and Jane 6-pack voter–and almost everyone else who is not a registered Democrat.

Perhaps Kuster is banking on very few people actually watching a debate?

Or perhaps she believes people will respond better if they understand that she thinks she just knows better than they do?
