In my mind, my vote is an endorsement.

Puts the act of voting in a whole new light, doesn’t it?  Think about that – we give endorsements here at the ‘Grok because we think those candidates believe as we do.  We want them to win by lending our voices to theirs.  We hope that the folks that read us and Trust us will consider our endorsement and vote for that person, or set of people, as well.  We have changed our endorsing paradigm.  It is not to just have a person win, but to say “we Trust this person – we don’t have to worry how they will vote on important issues”. Plainly said, “We can always count on that person”.  And if that wasn’t bad enough, then THIS was the next line:

My vote says nothing less than that “I trust this person with my life and the lives of my loved ones.”  

Oof.  Gut punch – and gut check, isn’t it?  Puts the act of voting in a whole new light, doesn’t it? Translation:

Setting?  I was fatigued by Obama’s voice before the beginning of the end of Recovery Summer 2009.  Probably sooner.  Obama was the cure for my Bush era “we don’t hear enough from the office of the President” period.  While Bush didn’t say so much about what was going on, the ‘O’ on Obama was for over-share.  He never shut-up.  Never grew tired of hearing himself speak.  Still hasn’t.  And after he has ruined the nation, he’ll just keep talking, and talking, and talking….

Hey, everyone gets a nick-name, and thanks to last nights Brown-Shaheen Debate, James gets a new one.

And Scott Brown has now given the Democrats some hope.  He included Sullivan County in ‘The North Country,’ which started a twitter debate about how Sullivan county is west and mostly north of Concord, whether north of Concord counted as ‘The North Country,’ and even spawned left-wing tweets with pictures making Brown out to be some alien ambassador trying to dupe the locals into thinking he was one of them.  This from the people who hate New Hampshire’s current State Motto, Live Free or Die.

Pindell started all that by observing that Sullivan County was west of Concord.  So is Alaska, technically, so why bring it up?

Sorry, but Steve’s post title was too good to pass up on.  Yes, the truth wins out and Scott Brown was right and James Pindell was wrong about the geography of Sullivan County here in NH.  Or, the alternative view was that they are both right (Sullivan County is BOTH West and North of Concord, NH) but refused the fact that Northwest satisfies both conditions.  Any ways, James Pindell admits his mistake.

Let’s revisit this from my last post, shall we?

Remember what Obama said when you go to the polls on Tuesday: “I am not on the ballot this fall.  Michelle’s pretty happy about that.  But make no mistake: these policies are on the ballot.  Every single one of them.”

Elections have consequences and so do the people who are voted into office.  Tuesday, we get to decide all over again.  Steve Hayes at the Weekly Standard (I love listening to him on the roundtables on FNC’s Special Report – smart, insightful guy) makes it clear this election is all about an Obama activist Govt and how it has not worked.  I’ve reformatted and bullet listed his points for emphasis:

• Not only is this election not about nothing, it is being fought over exactly the kinds of things that ought to determine our elections.
• It’s about the size and scope of government.
• It’s about the rule of law.
• It’s about the security of the citizenry.
• It’s about competence.
• It’s about integrity.
• It’s about honor.
• It’s about a government that makes promises to those who have defended the country and then fails those veterans, again and again and again.

Evil.  It exists in the real world and many of us can recognize it.  However, in the ever-increasing political polarization here in America, there certainly is one set of folks that truly believes that evil actually exists.  No, for these people it is not that commit heinous crimes.  It is not those that advocate killing others for the sake of their religio-political ideology.  Instead, of someone says “we should have less government”, they are deemed EVIL.  If someone says “we should have less taxes”, they are deemed evil.  If someone says “Government should be operating within Constitutional boundaries”, they are deemed evil.  Yes, Democrats hate the TEA Party, Constitutionalists, and traditional value (and here in NH, the Free State Project) folks simply because they just want to be left alone instead of having a bossy Government. But it goes beyond hate, we are seen as existentially EVIL – and if you have watched any of the mid-term election ads lately, you can see plainly.
