Along comes Zandra Rice-Hawkins of Granite State Progress (GSP) who says… “hold my beer.”
This has got to be one of the more stupid things I’ve seen on the Twitterverse in a while. Clearly, Hawkins and her sidekick over at GSP have never worked in a restaurant or actually worked in customer service or with customers, EVER, anywhere.
Seattle is a city on a crazy train to the liberal utopia. They implemented a gun tax and mandated higher minimum wages (which unintentionally pushed people off welfare and housing programs). There’s a special high Earners tax. The city banned affordable and convenient plastic bags. Their proudly gay (and married) mayor only resigned after his fifth child sex assault accusation. And on January 1st, this west coast Sanctuary city began charging a sugary drink tax.

Not that long ago, opposition to the devolution of power from the states and the people to the ruling class in the Nation’s Capital was racist, among other things. And if you wanted to use your first amendment right of association to pursue such ideas the IRS might sweat you like a drug smuggler caught at Turkish customs.

On Friday, a Letter to the Editor appeared in the Concord Monitor that explains why New Hampshire Representative Katherine Rogers (D-Concord) should resign after pleading guilty to assaulting a citizen. A majority of Granite Staters, including Democrats, believe Rogers should resign.
New Hampshire House Representative Jan Schmidt (D-Nashua) decided to comment on the LTE and not only lied about the assault but doesn’t believe Rogers should resign. From her comments:

If you are thinking of building a bridge, be careful if your engineer went to Purdue University. Donna Riley, the head of the engineering department at Purdue, has put the world on notice that “rigor” is a dirty word. In an article for Engineering Education called “Rigor/Us: Building Boundaries and Disciplining Diversity with Standards of Merit,” Professor Riley, who is also the author of Engineering and Social Justice, argues that academic “rigor” is merely a blind for “white male heterosexual privilege.” Yes, really. . . . Professor Riley’s gibberish is meant in earnest. Her essay appears not in a science fiction journal or a publication intended for the denizens of a sanatorium but a journal concerned with science. This woman is the head of a department of engineering in an institution of higher education. The moral is, we suppose, that things are always worse than they seem.

Read through the official DEI materials and you soon feel overwhelmed by inspiring platitudes and glossy pictures of smiling minorities. As I noted in an earlier Michigan Review article, the administration has a nasty habit of hiding potentially controversial policy decisions deep in a matrix of feel-good fluff and pages of meaningless drivel, such as:
Your passion for making us better, your belief that all individuals deserve an equal opportunity to succeed and your unwavering dedication to the highest aspirations of our university.
Whether DEI will accomplish that is questionable, but the plan certainly succeeded in adding new positions within the administration, including the vice provost for equity, inclusion, and academic affairs. According to UM Salary, the University of Michigan’s open salary database, the provost earned $385,000 during the 2016-2017 school year.

The media homonculi in the shared Democrat party narrative “room” in the bowels of Washington DC is continuously cranking out bumper-sticker BS sold by so-called experts. One such revealed left wing truth is the specter of illegal internet gun sales as the impetus for mass shootings.
To validate their narrative, two prominent Congressional Democrats demanded an investigation into Illegal Internet Sales in hopes that the results would feed their propaganda mill.

My wife and I have friends in Belgium. We have visited there many times. One of our friends has a daughter we have known since she was two and who is now twenty. I walked her to school one morning and stayed with her until the teachers gathered all the kids up and took them inside. The building was like any other commercial property on the street except it had a play yard.
When I got back, I commented that Yasmine was lucky to have a school so close and her mother told me she picked that school because it was close and Yasmine liked it. Apparently, citizens in Belgium can pick and choose the school where their kids go.
Imagine the horror that would ensue in the American government school monopoly if that was true here?
Until the people who claim to want “money out of politics” stop being the same people who want as much money as possible to run through the hands of Washington politicians and bureaucrats, it is a safe bet they are using the idea of ‘campaign finance reform’ to control other peoples political speech.
