Mike and I had a discussion last night (listen here) about a potential problem with Omnibus bills that can be summed up like this.
1. Congress allocates money to be spent. The President spends the allocated money.
2. Once Congress allocates money, their job is oversight of the money being spent. They don’t spend the money and have no say HOW it gets spent as long as it’s spent legally. That’s their job to monitor with oversight.

President Trump tweeted something very suggestive this morning, indicating that he may use the powers of the executive to work around the $1.3 trillion abomination’s limitations on the border wall:
This has got to be about one of the stupidest ideas I’ve heard yet – akin to “we have to destroy the village to save it” (or Bush’s “”I’ve abandoned free market principles to save the free market system”). Seriously, a bucket of rocks to throw against an active shooter? Really, who thinks of such idiocy? Oh yeah, teachers:

A rural school district in Pennsylvania is arming teachers and students with buckets of rocks as a last resort should an armed intruder burst in, the superintendent said.
Every classroom in the district about 90 miles northwest of Philadelphia has a 5-gallon bucket of river stones, said Blue Mountain School District Superintendent David Helsel. “We always strive to find new ways to keep our students safe,” Helsel told The Associated Press in a telephone interview, adding that the rocks are one small part of the district’s overall security plan. Throwing rocks is more effective than just crawling under desks and waiting, and it gives students and teachers a chance to defend themselves, he said. The district has about 2,700 students at three elementary schools, a middle school and a high school.
Yeah, like a group of first graders are going to bean someone with a pistol.

Another legislative session, another attempt to pass a casino bill fails. Don’t worry; it will be back again “tomorrow” which is to say next session and every session after that until it passes, which it did not in 2018.
D’Allesandro exhorted his colleagues in the Senate to make 2018 the year that his proposal would finally go through, vowing that he would not be bringing it forth again. Today, several left-wing organizations in New Hampshire and Maine held a gun control rally in Portsmouth’s Market Square. The rally was part of a larger Astroturf movement (paid gun grabbers) across the country for people to demand the government take their rights away.
The irony is that it was “The Resistance Seacoast” who were headlining the event in Portsmouth. The very same women who want to “resist Trump” because they believe he is so vile that they feel “unsafe” yet are demanding he take their fundamental human right to self-defense away. It seems to be lost on the crowd in attendance.
Gun control addicts ascended upon “Red Square” from Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. It was quite the sight, including all the Portsmouth Police Officers who were armed and protecting the First Amendment rights of the protesters.
Kimberly Morin went to the Red Square Gun-Ban StyleRally in Portsmouth to mingle with the Demorrhoids and bless her little heart. It takes a great deal of patience and determination to wade through a rising sea of left-wing stupidity. I’ll have to ask her if she had to take something to suppress the gag reflex.
The result of her journey is a host of images depicting the will of the left. Most tell a tale of ignorance and stupidity but there’s one she somehow missed.

That simple promise will force the Federal Government to put twelve individual appropriation bills to a vote.
It would be like a twelve-part, individual opportunity to review and pass, or veto, each appropriation as our system of congressional spending operated in the past.

In New Hampshire, our Secretary of State cannot define a person’s domicile or residence. It is a matter of “intent” he claims. Our courts are no different. The justices have determined, using some dictionary they have not made public, that anyone can have a voting domicile in NH as long as it is in their mind. See Guare v. NH.
New Hampshire has set up a very elaborate system of same-day voting laws which allow anyone, without any identification, to vote in a New Hampshire General Election and simply disappear moments later. That vote is as “legal” as any other. It is known as a “super-enfranchised” New Hampshire vote.
Yesterday, during the Portsmouth gun control rally, The Resistance Seacoast handed out leaflets listing a slew of pro-gun control legislators. The list is a horrifying compilation of some of the most disturbing individuals who have or do sit in the New Hampshire State House today.
I am not surprised – what started out as a movement for “school safety” has now been politicized and turn into “gun bans tinged with gun control” fantasy land for the Left. “Finally, we have our TEA Party” they must be congratulating themselves over. A Marxist Childrens Crusade, they believe – they’ll try to ride this pony onward and upwards, my comrades! I guess they forget what a disaster the original one turned out to be – absolute slaughter. And the chief drama students that they groomed (e.g., David Hogg) will soon be in a lot of campaign commercials (IF the GOP has the smarts to do so). Already, gun sales are heading upward once again.
TMEW was listening while I was watching this video taken yesterday from the “March of Ignorance” in DC. OK, all of the usual Leftist groups that organized and monetized middle and high school kids actually named it “March for Our Lives”. Problem is they have no idea of what they are marching for. Go ahead, listen to the part about “assault weapons / rifles”:
Now, that’s pretty bad. Worse are the kids that are fine with banning all guns. Worst of all were the ones saying that the Second Amendment was outdated and from another time. Who teaches them this? Do they really know their own American history? Do they even know just general history and how the majority of governments through time have been totalitarian – the reason we have the Second Amendment and Article 2-A in the first place?

The Great Mills High School shooting confirms the NRA’s claim that, “It takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun.” Fortunately an armed responder was close enough to the shooter to prevent more casualties.
Since the Parkland school shootings, outcries by Democrats and other leftists have demanded new gun control laws on law-abiding people which wouldn’t have stopped the shootings at Great Mills, or anyplace else. In fact, Democrats vehemently oppose what probably saved lives at Great Mills, armed response in school able to quickly confront a shooter.
These Democrat actions reveal that the Democrats’ goal isn’t to save lives but to make law-abiding people vulnerable to criminals. Other evidence includes:
A recent study required as part of a sweeping Massachusetts gun law passed in 2014 shows that more gun laws made absolutely no difference when it came to “gun violence,” see also – people who don’t follow the old law won’t follow the new one.
An impressive, wide-ranging gun reform law, passed in 2014, has not reduced gun violence and gun crime at all in Massachusetts. The annual number of firearm-related crimes, homicides, suicides, and prosecutions appears unaffected so far, according to a new report required by the law itself.
Not to worry, say the experts. It’s too soon. Just give it time.
