I went to a Senate Hearing on CACR 15 on Thursday. There was even a chance for me to testify!
This the proposed NH Constitutional Amendment to restore a taxpayer’s right to sue a municipality or the State regarding taxation, a right that was stripped away by recent Superior and State Supra decisions. NH courts have in recent years decided to mold NH into a shape they decide is reasonable – by court order.
This one won’t go well – for them.
There are first world problems, and then there are first problems. And then there is this s#!^.

The “common-sense” gun control activists rarely ask, “What about the beneficial effect of gun ownership?”

Senate Bill 193 allows parents to set up and use education savings accounts (ESA’s). The public-union-only education industrial complex turns into the worlds mightiest chicken-little whenever anyone or anything challenges their monopoly on your children’s time and attention.

In the heat of the moment, Vermont has gone full-Sanders and embraced a package of gun restrictions and limitations that will do absolutely nothing to reduce the odds of any illegal shooting in the state.

Beleive it or not, for the better part of twenty-plus years the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been issuing regulations with the force of law without having to present any data publicly. Imposing rules, limiting individuals and job creators, driving up the cost of everything, without having to prove the thesis upon which these restrictions are based. The only Environment they’ve been protecting is their own. That’s the one they created that gives them unlimited power.
But not anymore.

It appears the Windham School District’s Administration has a double standard regarding when parental approval is deemed appropriate regarding student instruction. In September 2016, parents were required to sign a permission slip before their children would receive a copy of the United States Constitution on Constitution Day (Sept. 17th). That request rightfully raised some eyebrows in town. (And many students were never even offered a copy, even though the district was offered a donated copy for every student in the district…hmmm…)
If you didn’t get the email and you didn’t read it here, you might not know about it. About what? A State GOP email blast with a video asking New Hampshire’s Congressional delegation to denounce the idea of Repealing the Second Amendment.
Former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens posited the idea in a New York Times Op-Ed. But none of the Old New Hampshire media has touched the story, even in their new online portals. That includes WMUR, The Union Leader (didn’t make the Granite Status) and the Concord Monitor. Nothing online. No hits anywhere in Nexis.
Did anyone else cover it? Yes!
Well, Jennifer Abbot decided to respond to my first response Letter to her’s as several friends alerted me to her newest screed (seriously: “God drivel“? No, not on the actual merits and questions I brought up but an attack on me personally – and tries to turn herself into a victim because I “belittled” her. Heh! I’ve once again put her Letter after the jump and the first part of my second response here. I may even directly fisk her letter to “amplify” things a bit as the headline for her Letter to the Editor went right to the heart of what Progressives want to do to those that oppose their policies:

Parkland is moving Democrat legislators and the media, but as I pointed out here yesterday, I think progressive-ghetto tunnel-vision has catalyzed the inside of a very small bubble.
I think the left is really overreaching on Parkland and the media is making them arrogant. They are going to keep at it the way the kept at it until Hillary lost. It feels like that sort of deep dive into a shallow pool.
The 2016 Election map shows Democrats as a fringe party, but thanks to a very biased media they appear more significant. That has advantages. They can punch above their weight and do. It also misleads them into thinking the nation is with them just because they all agree with each other. But some crucial reports suggest this is not the case.

Legislation comes in all shapes and sizes, including the bill introduced this session that would remove New Hampshire from the national voter Crosscheck program. The bill, SB 349, would repeal the state’s authority to share voter info or data with other states to ensure that each voter casts just one ballot in each election. Protecting voter data from misuse and ensuring the privacy of Granite Staters is essential, we know that this legislation was nothing more than a politicized solution in search of a problem.
The national Crosscheck program originated after the passage of the Help America Vote Act by the United States Congress in 2002. It was a collaborative effort of several secretaries of state across the country to make it easier to compare voter lists in a safe and private manner, to prevent inappropriately cast votes. In each election since many states use Crosscheck to verify that every legal voter receives only one vote as dictated by our Constitution.
