You have probably heard the phrase, physician, heal thyself? If you contemplate the meaning from scripture, it means “you first!” Get your act together before telling us to do the same. American academia has this problem in spades, a ‘virus’ that has infected the Left and most of the Democrat party.

It creates a pack of insufferable know-it-alls who actually know very little then defend that ignorance by demanding control of language, meaning, history, and everything. Theirs is the most intolerant religion quick to defrock or excommunicate those it decides are sinners.
This is not a new problem, but in recent years, the idea-pandemic of post-modernism has ruined the institution of higher learning. This has poisoned the education well, all the way to the bottom.
The problem has gotten so bad that some in France call it a threat to the country. The country of France.
Politicians, prominent intellectuals, and academics in France have voiced concern that ‘out-of-control leftism and cancel culture’ from the United States is threatening French identity.
They are arguing that American ideas on race, gender, post-colonialism – especially those coming from U.S. universities – are undermining French society and are an attack on French heritage.
These ‘certain social science theories entirely imported from the United States.’
That would be the folks who just got the political champions of their ideological tunnel-vision ensconced in the halls of power. The cancel-culture, no free speech, identity politics, ‘experts’ will be running the country (into the ground) for the next few years.
Back in France, concern began after the Paris opera director released a report promising more diversity that reeks of gospel and verse from the American left’s post-modern ‘bible.’
This set off alarm bells.
It is illegal in France to collect data based on race and for many, the country’s national identity rejects diversity and multiculturalism, instead focusing on fundamental rights and core values like equality and liberty.
Yet according to the New York Times, Macron is also courting the right ahead of the election next year, which led him to eventually comment last year after center-right lawmakers pressed for a parliamentary investigation into ‘ideological excesses’ at universities.
No such luck in ‘The States.” We’re up to our eyeballs in this crap, and it keeps getting deeper, and the only people who can stop it, fix it, heal it are academics or their institutions. Higher education must heal itself, or the contradictions of its own madness will consume it.
[T]he academics who invented these concepts are projecting their own life circumstances and bias … [but they] find it impossible to believe that the same is true for Critical Theory, Cultural Studies, Postmodernism, and all the rest of it. … [E]verything you believe is a flawed product of your inherent bias; but they are seeing the world as it is even though that contradicts all their theories.
They are biased about bias and too biased to know it.
Until they heal their own bias, they have no moral authority to even question ours.
