A question before us is: When the all-clear sounds, should Americans refuse to go back to work? Interestingly Democrat leadership is split. Speaker Pelosi thinks Americans can exist on ice cream from her freezer. That’s her plan.
AOC is telling Americans they should boycott their employers when the coronavirus crisis clears. I’m not sure which Democrat is in charge, but either way, it seems a direction likely to be a short term answer at best. But that’s Democrat leadership in America today.
Socialist world view
My suspicion is most of the nation is clamoring to get back to work. But in yet another demonstration we again understand the socialist dream of a day when nobody works. Socialists instead want everyone to receive a government check for existing. Don’t ask where the money to cover those checks comes from. AOC is urging people to refuse to return to their jobs once the economy is opened back up. That is Democrat leadership today.
Speaking on a new Vice TV talk show AOC told viewers working and earning a living. Feeding your family does not set you free. AOC said, “When we talk about this idea of reopening society you know, only in America does the president, when the president tweets about liberation, does he mean go back to work…”
AOC said, “…When we have this discussion about going back or reopening, I think a lot people should just say ‘no’… We’re not going back to that… We’re not going back to working 70 hour weeks just so that we can put food on the table and not even feel any sort of semblance of security in our lives.”
That’s Democrat leadership in America today.
Empathy for the average American and their need to feed their family
Maybe it’s just me, but this seems like a complete lack of empathy for people. Most of us would welcome the opportunity to get back to work. Don’t most of us need to pay our bills, and feed our families? How long can the government keep sending checks if nobody pays taxes?
Protests are cropping up across the nation. People are struggling to make ends meet. Many are suffering economically and financially. AOC is advising Americans when businesses start opening back up, just shrug their shoulders and stay home. That’s Democrat leadership in America today.
Businesses are hanging by a thread, especially small businesses. And AOC wants workers to refuse to show, forcing those businesses to quite possibly close. Will that affect the livelihoods of their co-workers or the availability of goods and services? Just asking…
Fellow Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo is sneering at those wanting to work. He said, “You want to go to work? Go take a job as an essential worker. Do it tomorrow.” That’s Democrat leadership? Not so long on empathy or understanding, but rich, and out of touch with the work a day world.
The blame game and talking out of both sides…
In a live stream video, AOC placed blame for a shutdown on the President’s shoulders. “If you wanna make sure that we reopen the economy, why don’t you turn around, march on over to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and protest this president whose not supporting our governors and making sure that we get the tests, the medical equipment, the hospital funding, and the state and local funding, so that we can all get on with our lives,” AOC said.
Wait, which is it? Do you want people working or not? Which side of your mouth exactly we should be listening to? Then again there is this little gem. AOC earlier in the week said she “absolutely love(s) to see” the oil market crash and subsequent job losses that will be a result. That’s the third side of her mouth this week.
Who is making slaves?
Slave owners sought to make their slaves completely dependent on them. Sound at all familiar? They did it through a system of restrictive codes. Slaves were prohibited from doing many things. Their behavior and movement were restricted. Sound familiar?
Many masters took sexual liberties, I’ll take Clintons for 200, please… Weinstein for 400… Epstein for 600… Masters rewarded obedient behavior with favors. Rebellious slaves were brutally punished. Can you say, Cliven Bundy? A strict hierarchy among the slaves helped keep them divided. Their division made them less likely to organize against their masters. Know any Party fostering division?
The question before us isn’t: When the all-clear is sounded, should Americans refuse to go back to work? The real question is can you live under what passes for Democrat leadership in America today? Do we really want to go back to that?
