This entire crisis is overblown. The political response borders on criminal. In New Hampshire, for example, the entire county of Coos has the same weeks-long lockdown protocol as everywhere else and only two recent cases of Coronavirus. Two, countywide! It’s Criminal.

Part of the problem we face now comes from Italy. It was a trigger for many nations when China was not. A sudden spike in infections and deaths in the northern part of the nation. The oldest least healthy part.
The press went with the nuclear option and states across the globe went into lockdown. But, while the world-wide news-storm sold advertising around dire headlines the Italians were taking copious notes. Yes, a lot of people caught this flu, but only a small percentage of the post mortems attributed death to the coronavirus.
Because those who died were already very old or very sick and most were both.
According to the latest data of the Italian National Health Institute ISS, the average age of the positively-tested deceased in Italy is currently about 81 years. 10% of the deceased are over 90 years old. 90% of the deceased are over 70 years old.
80% of the deceased had suffered from two or more chronic diseases. 50% of the deceased had suffered from three or more chronic diseases. The chronic diseases include in particular cardiovascular problems, diabetes, respiratory problems and cancer.
Less than 1% of the deceased were healthy persons, i.e. persons without pre-existing chronic diseases. Only about 30% of the deceased are women.

No one wants to lose a family member. Every death is tragic. We value life very much. But globally hundreds of thousands tragically die every year from the seasonal flu. Upward of half a million. The demographics for those deaths are no different than from the coronavirus. And none of those deaths are from losing their life savings, their retirement, a job, a business, or being forced to walk around, when allowed outside, depressed and masked in fear, deliberately distancing themselves from others because the State made things this way.
It has to stop.
One more point about how this lockdown business is a destructive waste of time and economic suicide (which Democrats have been praying for) “Current all-cause mortality in Europe and in Italy is still normal or even below-average. Any excess mortality due to COVID-19 should become visible in the European monitoring charts.”
We might say, great, all this nonsense worked, except for all the jobs, retirements, savings, wealth, prosperity, “businesses” and careers it destroyed. Ruined by acts of government force.
That might fly in parts of Europe, or maybe all of it, but that is not the government’s job in our Constitutional Republic, and we still live in one of those, at least on paper. A paper that means nothing unless the people whose power it represents, take it back.
So, take it back.
