Targeting, known in some circles as reporting, commenting or exposing (in the case of voting records, public statements, even lies, fraud, and abuse) has become one of Jan Schmidt’s two favorite words. The other is Hate. Anyone who reports on this Democrat’s votes or her antics is guilty of hate.

A more accurate translation would be Jan Schmidt hates the attention. Or does she? She can’t seem to get out of her own way to stop saying and doing things that earn her column inches here.
Skip has been going back and forth via email over her public statements that we’ve created an environment where Democrat House Reps (in Merrimack) need police protection. But I put that fallacy to rest yesterday.
This morning, someone hared this.
I told you Jan likes to say target(ing) and Hate.
As for your opinion, you are entitled to it, but that’s all it is. We don’t peddle in anything remotely like hate unless you mean that we expose left-wing hate. Antisemitism. Doxing. Your silence when groups like Antifa use intimidation and violence to suppress first amendment rights. All left wing constructs designed to silence dissent by angry progressives who won’t tolerate anyone hearing a message they do not control.
As to the rest, the only whistle you blew was a dog whistle.
And if anyone, Democrat Sonia Prince “outed the Student.” A “student” who (by the way) is a voting-age adult that expressed a political opinion to organize a public political response on a public social media platform to impact a vote by that board.
The BOE member (Doris Hohensee), was hence subjected to a smear campaign with the help of (dog-whistle blower) Jan that resulted in an illegal public press release in violation of New Hampshire’s open meeting laws. And actions that also violated federal law.
No complaints from Jan Schmidt defender of the people; folks who might have business before that board and should expect the same treatment. Probably because it was tilted toward her desired outcome.
As to the last point, “what sort of person drums up hate to make money and power.” Look in the mirror Jan. You get paid by the City of Nashua as an elected official. And while it’s not much you get your paltry House Rep pay plus mileage too. Taxpayer dollars. And what do you do with it? Spread actual lies (police protection) and smear local opinion reporting that exposes these facts for the general public.
As for GraniteGrok, this is a volunteer operation. No one gets paid. We’re not “making money.” We do raise revenue but only to pay operating expenses and purchase equipment that allows us to do remote reporting and record events and interviews.
As for power, we do appear to be living rent-free in your head but you’re not alone. There are more than a few Republicans in this state with the same problem.
