Emails Reveal ‘Taxation Is Theft’ Phrase is Driving NH Democrats Bonkers

Since Democrats took over a majority in both the New Hampshire House and Senate, they have been on a drunken late-night ‘Amazon Prime’ spending spree with YOUR tax dollars. And of course, they have to RAISE TAXES even more to pay for all of their ridiculous spending, to the tune of $417 MILLION new taxes and fees!

From The Josiah Bartlett Center for Public Policy:

To help fund its more than half-billion dollars in new spending, the House budget includes a sales tax on marijuana transactions ($4 million), business tax increases ($94.1 million), a new capital gains tax ($150 million), and a new wage tax (payroll tax) to fund a compulsory paid family and medical leave program ($168.6 million).

To point out the ridiculous behavior of NH House Democrats, some Republicans have been using the phrase ‘Taxation is Theft’ when speaking at the well during house sessions, in one form or another. From Young Americans for Liberty:

Of course Democrats don’t want their constituents to know they are voting for massive tax increases, especially an income tax, so they really, really don’t like it when Republicans point out the obvious – that Democrats ARE voting for massive tax increases on Granite Staters!

An email was sent to the NH Democrat Caucus from the looniest of all Democrats, Sherry Frost. Apparently, ‘Taxation is Theft’ is driving her more insane that her existing insanity so Frost wants to make petty donations to left-wing causes each time Republicans use the phrase until the end of the session.

You can see the full email thread below with some commentary in between. Warning, don’t be taking a drink of anything, this email thread is going to cause you to literally laugh out loud:

Caucus Members,

Please see the message below (and attachments!) from Rep. Sherry Frost:

Dear Honored Colleagues,

We counted 7 instances of “Taxation is Theft” from the well today. I pledged $5 for every instance, so $35 went to Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense from me this afternoon.

I will likely be taking a moment at the end of each of our remaining caucus meetings to ask you all to join me in pledging a dollar amount of your choosing every time a republican squawks “taxation is theft” from the well.  At the end of each session, I’ll tally up the count and you can make the appropriate donation to your favorite causes.

Let’s try to make something good come of the nonsense.

Warmly,
Sherry

What’s hilarious about donating to Moms Demand is that the organization is funded by NYC billionaire Michael Bloomberg. He doesn’t need Frosts’ petty donation. The guy spent almost $70,000 in less than a month on lobbyists. At least she could donate to a worthy cause that does actually need help like a domestic abuse organization, a children’s charity or even an animal shelter.

And the lunacy continues on:

My $35 check will be in the mail today. Planned Parenthood will be my choice.

Kathy Desjardin

Planned Parenthood is another organization that doesn’t need the money. They are a multi-million dollar abortion corporation with over $1 billion in assets and one that gets almost ½ billion dollars every year from taxpayers. Maybe Desjardin figures her money will just come back to her when she runs for re-election since Planned Parenthood spends millions electing Democrats.

Liz McConnell from Brentwood cheers the petty donation idea and wants to help elect more bad Democrats such as herself:

It’s interesting that Democrats seem to hate Representative John Burt’s annual ‘Hot Dog Day’ so much. Last year all proceeds went to animal shelters to actually help helpless animals. Animals who don’t get taxpayer funds or have billionaires lining the pockets of lobbyists.

wouldn’t that be fun, but I don’t know if the Dems are that rich!! We’ll see.

It’s amazing how much time Frost is willing to spend on keeping track of these petty donations. Of course, she doesn’t really care about the causes everyone is supporting but wants to use her emotional claptrap to try and somehow slam Republicans:

Dear All,

I was HOPING to have a sort of sign up sheet where everyone would pledge a dollar amount at the start of each session (modeled after the book-a-thons of my childhood) but that seemed like a bit too much legwork, so I decided to just go with the honor system and ask you all to make the commitment to your causes on your own.

I’m HAPPY to keep track of how much we collectively donate, however; if you’d like to send me your donation receipts after each session (or, as in this email thread, just tell me what you sent to which cause), I’ll keep track.  On our last session day this year, I’ll ask for unanimous consent to thank the republicans for raising X dollars for these very worthy causes.

SHOCKED that Speaker Shurtleff responded this way. Democrats under his leadership have behaved in the most uncivil and despicable ways for the past couple of years. I actually give him KUDOS for trying to get the children to behave like adults.

I agree with Cathy Harvey – and add that we should not be moving the goal-posts. I do NOT support any public mocking of Republicans based on what we are doing here by press release or otherwise. For a host of reasons. Folks can say privately, of course, whatever they wish.

Paul

“Just once I’d like someone to call me ‘Sir’ without adding ‘You’re making a scene’.”

Once again, Representative Berch (who also fought against Marsy’s Law) is a voice of reason.

Maybe if Frost and her Democrat pals spent more time reading and understanding legislation, rather than simply voting how they are told, they would actually comprehend just HOW BAD their tax and spend policies ARE for New Hampshire, especially for their own constituents.

Maybe, instead of petty donations, they should actually take the time to EXPLAIN to Granite Staters WHY they are insisting on increasing taxes and fees by over $400 MILLION.

Donating money to billionaire-funded organizations and organizations that already receive hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars does what exactly? Nothing. Donating money to elect more bad Democrats to the legislature only harms Granite Staters but Democrats intentionally seek to do that with the legislation they are passing anyway. Besides, one of the reasons Democrats were elected to the majority is thanks to massive out-of-state cash from millionaires and billionaires.

You would think that these Democrats would use their petty donations to help out worthy causes that actually need the money.

Instead, and the irony is not lost here, they are donating to organizations that spend money to help THEM get elected.

Hopefully NH House Republicans see this and start using the phrase ‘Taxation is Theft’ even more often, if for nothing other than to continue to drive Democrats bonkers and make them go broke at the same time.

I said it before and I’ll say it again – the inmates are running the asylum in Concord, formerly known as the New Hampshire State House.
