Allowing unfettered access by armies of infected foreigners is what Democrats call smarter border security — a policy begun (and advertised) under Obama that produced some less than flattering results. The opioid crisis has claimed many thousands of lives, but there’s another scourge for which the Left deserves credit.
Sanctuary cities, counties, and states, especially on the left coast, have what local health care officials are calling a public health crisis.
Hepatitis A, Typhus, and Measles (not gone in the Americas as the WHO suggested in 2016) are spreading in liberal cities. And yes, STD’s are also on the rise. All thanks to the Democrat’s open invitation to “come to get free stuff” and a look the other way policy on national security.
Look Who’s Paying Now
Not only was it not free – you’re paying for it – but now you are paying for something else. Health emergencies. Which begs the question. Will Democrat change their minds about their ‘smarter‘ open-border policies if any of these infections prevent women from getting abortions?
That seems to be an issue that actually tips the needle for the Left. I’m asking for a friend.

California is turning into a toilet. And we can thank Democrats, not the least of whom is Governor Gavin Newsom. He gets credit for advocating all of the Left’s “smarter” border policies so how ironic is it that these words came from his mouth?
“Our homeless crisis is increasingly becoming a public health crisis,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom said in his State of the State speech in February, citing outbreaks of hepatitis A in San Diego County, syphilis in Sonoma County and typhus in Los Angeles County.
“Typhus,” he said. “A medieval disease. In California. In 2019.”
He’s scratching his wooden head wondering how typhus managed to find its way into the local population. In downtown LA. At City Hall.
But don’t stop offering sanctuary and free stuff to any third-world “neighbor” who sneaks under the fence (if you even have one). Raise taxes on job creators and working families instead. Then ask yourself why they keep moving away from California.
Solution?
The Democrats had a chance. They tried their border security policies and look at what we got? Drug and human trafficking. Opioid addiction epidemics. Many thousands dead. Gangs and crime. The spread of infectious diseases. Problems we did not have before open-border Obama and his Democrat Facilitators.
We need to try something else. Stop the transit of drugs, crime, and infected persons. Enforce the laws we already have. Expand the border barrier. Add boots on the ground to protect the southern border. And no more free stuff.
Isn’t Seattle enough of a lesson?
We can’t begin to have a serious conversation about investing in other priorities until we address the border crisis and all that it has wrought.
