Quick Thought – On the fallacy of “Self-described Experts” by Maura Sullivan (Democrat Carpetbagger in CD-1)

New WMUR logowhich “Supply Sullivan” wants us to swallow: hook, line, and trigger. I haven’t watched the WMUR debates yet but will do so because, well, I should.  Still, this sound byte from their News caught my ear (emphasis mine):

“I believe the veterans in Congress are going to lead on this because we have an unassailable credibility when it comes to guns. And we can say on the House floor, we used these in Iraq, people used them in Afghanistan. They don’t belong in Manchester and they don’t belong in Hampton. they don’t belong anywhere in this country.”

-Maura Sullivan

No, you don’t.  This is the falsehood by a “in Supply” dud who only infers that she saw actual combat but didn’t: a poseur.  As the Youngest said, where’s a picture of her with her Combat Ribbon? That would give you some “credibility” but not from a paper pusher that just happened to have a weapon strung across her.  She also wants us to believe that simply because “MILITARY” that she can look down on the rest of us and decree what we can or can’t have – has she not read the actual wording of the Second Amendment, and does this carpetbagger even KNOW what Article 2-a is?  Or are we to just disregard our Foundational Papers simply because she served in the Marines and then worked in DoD?

Go ahead, Maura, make your argument against the actual wording of the Constitutions.  For instance (stealing from Grokster Ian for a moment), I don’t see any of these wordings – and you don’t get to change the originals in order to forward your Narrative:

  • ‘The right of the people to keep and bear arms that are in common use shall not be infringed’.
  • ‘The right of law-abiding people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed’ (And with good reason — the country was created by armed law-breakers)
  • ‘The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed unless the government decides that it’s outweighed by a compelling government interest

She’s just using all of those bad constructions and warping it into “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed UNLESS PRIOR MILITARY PEOPLE SAY OTHERWISE” (especially for her own political gain).

Gosh, and I thought it was civilians control the military – and not the other way around like “Supply Sullivan” demands.

Another note: they also all declared themselves to be Socialists with the exception of O’Rourke calling himself an “FDR Liberal” which is just another way of calling himself a Socialist by avoiding the term “Progressive”.  Sure, they all called themselves “Progressives” but in today’s reality, they are all Socialists trying to jump all over each other in how far Left they can go.  The danger?

This from David Horowitz pretty well lays out the danger (emphasis mine):

On August 10, I gave a speech at the annual meeting of the American Legislative Exchange Commission (ALEC), to promote a “Convention of the States” to rein in the powers of the federal government.[1] The purpose of my speech was to respond to conservative concerns that such a convention might open a can of worms that would best be kept under wraps in these contentious times. My view was that while there were indeed risks involved, we were living in a time of national crisis and could not afford inaction.

“We are in the midst of a constitutional crisis,” I argued, the likes of which we have not seen since the Civil War.” Then I said to them, here’s what you should be afraid of: “The Democratic Party is now a socialist party. It is driven by identity politics, a form of cultural Marxism, which is racist and collectivist – the antithesis of what the American founding was about. The current leadership of the Democratic Party views America as a society of racial and sexual hierarchies that need to be reversed. This is a doctrine incompatible with a Constitution opposed to the characterization of individuals by race, gender and ethnic origin – a Constitution specifically designed to protect individual rights and individual equality, regardless of race, creed and origin.”

Remember, our country was built on the foundation of Negative Rights – proscribing what the Government CAN’T do in order to keep it from sprawling into every area of our lives.  Democrats seek the opposite as signified by FDR’s Second Bill of Rights that turned our founding upside down with what Government HAS to do for you – just like every failed Socialist or Communist country in history. And this is what these pack of wolves here in NH want to do – greedily take from many for their protected classes.
