If There Is Only One Candidate Left for NHGOP Chairman….?

FRIENDS – WE NEED YOUR HELP! We need you to attend your local GOP Caucus (listed below) and offer your name as a candidate for delegate (State Committee) . There will be a vote at the caucus, and if you win, you will then attend the January 26th Annual Meeting and will have the opportunity to vote for Jennifer for NHGOP Chair. If you have any questions let us know!

This was posted, I am told, on Jen Horn’s Facebook page. Seeing as no one else is currently (publicly) left to oppose her, this seems like an odd thing to post.  Perhaps there are other contenders waiting in the wings to oppose the establishment?

That might make it worth getting involved.

If you’d like to vote for someone else–and I suspect there will be someone else–then you too must attend and offer your name as a candidate.

The county Caucus dates and times provided by Horn are on the jump

Feds Close 100 Year old Business…Because They Can

What the government wants the government gets.  Even if they have to make it up. This is the story of how the Federal government railroaded a 100 year old company, recognized as an outstanding Environmental steward by the national parks service, out of business. (more preamble here c/o Hot Air).

Breaking: Andrew Hemingway to run for NH GOP Chair

Breaking details: The once cleared table for Jennifer Horn to assume “by accolade” the NH GOP Chairmanship may have gotten a rightward tilt to it.  Former RLCNH Chair Andrew Hemingway has announced that he will be opposing Horn’s ascendancy. I have been told that I will receive more details later on this afternoon. Hmmm, the … Read more

Mandate, Shmandate. Hello There Cliff, I’m Ready To Go

It seems the Republicans in Congress, that are still there, believe they’re wearing a “We held the House this past election, and all we got was this lousy T-Shirt!” T-shirt. And the wily Dems have no problem sidling up to the newly T-shirted and complementing them on its fit and trendiness, “you look fantastic!”

Who cares if the Dems claim they have a mandate, that’s what they’re supposed to do. You win, claim a mandate, and walk away. Let the losers stomp their feet, hold their breath until purple and then scream, “No mandate! Whaaa!!!”.  Meanwhile the winner goes on to plan what to do with the newly found illusory political capital. Remember when W. was re-elected? He claimed the same thing, and it drove the donkeys bonkers. So, buck up Republicans and don’t play into it, ignore it. Now, I’m just a lowly software pleb that annoys his neighbors occasionally with an acerbic blog or two and I know this. So, why don’t the paid politicians know this?

Decay Point: Dissolve Detroit…

Desolation, desperation, and delusion have swept over the Motor City for decades, constantly wearing down the streets, buildings, and the people.  So, it comes as no surprise that talks of its dissolution ring out through the desiccated city like the hollow, rusty clang of a muffler finally falling from a car, resting on cinder blocks, … Read more

Escape from California?

They’re not only talking about getting out of California (see below)…they’re talking escape from America. An interesting read.

I agree with this.

Blood and Water – The Return of Democrat Rule in New Hampshire

Skip broke the news (on the Grok) about New Hampshire State Government’s department heads making budget requests that would increase state spending by 26% in 2013.  If you had any delusions about who or what state agencies represent, you just got your answer.

It ain’t you.  It’s them.

In the current economy, with no regard for whose money they are spending, incoming governor Maggie Hassan would have to raise taxes and fees by at least 19% to fill all the requests.   AFP-NH estimates that this would extract around 700 million dollars from the people of New Hampshire to pay for new spending that would never go away. So that’s 700 million from every budget henceforth and anon, plus new new spending each budget there after….these are Democrats if you recall, there is no enough when it comes to spending your money.

And that $700, 000,000.00 (million) is ironically close to another sum we readily associate with New Hampshire Democrats.

REMEMBER! According to the Left, only Whites can be racists….

Obama: “and a union that could be and should be perfected over time. “ From the Washington Examiner comes news that while Moochella has “improved” our kids school lunches, he’s wanting to “perfect” our eating habits – or pay for it: “I think there is no question that the way Americans eat and what Americans … Read more

I pithy the fool…

…little old lady friends of mine often share things they find pithy.  Kinda makes me want to embroider a pillow.

Data Point – The Rich DO pay more in taxes

All Obama and the Dems can say is that certain folks don’t pay their fair share in taxes.  I know that there are some socialist / Progressives that would be fine with taking it all after a certain point (“you should not be able to make more than $5 million per year!”) and a high percentage on everything before that.  Equality, they say.  But the way they talk about it, the rich pay next to nothing; hardly:

% income tax paid
Adjusted gross income as a share of AGI
$1 to under $10,000 -13.6
$10,000 to under $20,000 -11.5
$20,000 to under $30,000 -3.7
$30,000 to under $50,000 3.1
$50,000 to under $100,000 7.5
$100,000 to under $200,000 12
$200,000 to under $500,000 19.6
$500,000 to under $1,000,000 24
$1,000,000 to under $1,500,00 24.9
$1,500,000 to under $2,000,000 25.1
$2,000,000 to under $5,000,000 24.9
$5,000,000 to under $10,000,000 24.2
$10,000,000 or more 20.7

As the chart shows, the only folks paying nothing are the poor – and with the EITC, the govt actually pays them. I bet you’re noticing “Skip, look at the top two brackets – they are paying LESS – you LIE!”.  Er, no – and this is where the Dems pull the magic trick of demogoguing over the low-information voter:

Update to Barry / Stacie Lawton’s NH House Representative career

The NH State Dept heads have just placed the crack candy of Progressive politicians in front of Guv-elect Maggie Hassan – what’s she gonna do?

Is this a sucker’s bet?  That Maggie is already set to ratchet up the spending (and the taxes to support them) – and this is the excuse she’ll use (emphasis mine)?

CONCORD – Gov.-elect Maggie Hassan issued an upbeat but sobering call for agency heads to lower their expectations as hearings on a new, two-year state budget commenced Monday.

In their initial budget requests, state administrators asked for a 26 percent increase in total spending to a record $11.97 billion for the cycle that begins June 30.

Spending from state tax and fee sources alone would go up 19 percent, to $3.3 billion, if those who run state departments get their way.

Earlier this month, Hassan won election to replace retiring Gov. John Lynch vowing to undo deep cuts in state aid for higher education and acute care hospitals.

That rise in spending will pretty much erase the downsizing of the State’s budget during Speaker O’Brien’s tenure.

Democrats – rigging the race card for 150 years….

This whole Rice affair shows the absolutely disgusting double standard that the Democrats have towards racism.  Their protestations are nothing more than just another political tool – they could really care less about real rascism, for if they did, they’d never throw the race card except for when it really was a case of racism. … Read more

Breaking News: Laughton Resigns

The union leader is reporting this morning that newly elected Democrat House member Stacie ‘The Beloved‘ Laughton (Hills Dist 31/Nashua) has decided to resign.

Laughton is disappointed, and states that no one asked her to resign, but that she was asked to consider all the things that have been presented.

Call me cynical but if you are elected to a post, and some unpleasantry from your past emerges, and people ask you to ‘consider’ things…they want you to resign.  They are just afraid to say it because their identity politics prevents them from going on the record.

Personally, I’m not done with this and it has nothing to do with Laughton.
