Hodes’ Foreign Money

by Steve MacDonald

Paul Hodes has hitched on to the ‘blame it on foreign money‘ narrative designed to give the liberals an out when they get bitch-slapped on November 2nd.  (Ala Blame ‘insert name here.’) So all it takes is a few hundred thousand sprinkled across the nation to wipe out an entire party?  Wow, that was easy.

But since the democrats are actually getting more foreign money than Republicans in 2010 (here), and all the recent whining seems to be about outside advertising by third party groups with international interests, would it matter if Paul Hodes had taken money from PAC’s with foreign donors directly into his campaign?  He’d be spending it right here in New Hampshire to, how did he phrase it?  affect local elections.

That might be hypocritical, a bit deceptive and dishonest? Ahhhyup!

The 2010 Hodes campaign has direct contributions from Universal Music (Vivendi-France), OldCastle Materials (Ireland), Citizen Financial Group (Scotland), as well as a number of international Unions, and Banks like Goldman Sachs.

Maybe someone can ask him about the contradiction the next time they see him. (If they can find him.)
