I was hearing rumors that the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) was not going to dump any more money down the Hodes-hole. Then I read a post by Fergus Cullen over at Red Hampshire in which he believes recent phone polling appears to be testing the waters as to whether or not Hodes has the necessary level of interest for continued support. And I just received a text last night indicating that the DSCC appears to be ready to pull the plug.
Watching Hodes deny it will be worth the price of speculation.
His campaign is in trouble, scratch that–has always been in trouble. He’s way behind Ayotte (and was always behind just about everyone) and with only a few weeks to go the DSCC has too many races in which a loss would flip a seat, the loss of Gregg’s seat is a lateral move and barely worth the trouble unless the candidate is showing signs of life.
Even with loads of cash from corrupt, earmarking, pro-lobbyist, big bank loving liberal Senators Hodes has been little more than the small beep on the heart monitor. That’s because the only life Hodes really ever had was as a rank and file, rubber stamp for Pelosi’s House agenda. He is a hypocrite of epic proportion and a horrible choice for the Senate, and should have been forced through a primary to vet better options. But the left wanted to save their money..which Hodes used to attack primary candidates..which only made Hodes numbers worse. It’s no surprise the DSCC is taking a free market approach to its investment options. Hodes is a bad bet. And without democrat support, he can’t even hope to break 36% which just happens to be where he’s stuck right now.
But don’t take anything for granted. The liberal un-dead won’t just die. You have to go to the polls and finish the job. And if you need another incentive, without 5 years of service, Hodes won’t be eligible for the lifetime taxpayer health and pension goodies awarded to tenured elected officials. That really breaks my heart.
