The arrogance of the Carol Shea-Porter’s, heck all democrats for that matter, can be summed up in the liberal core belief–recently parroted by Paul Hodes–that we can’t afford to let people keep the money they earned because it will balloon the deficit.
No matter what flaws you may find with other candidates or other parties, this kind of thinking defines the entire left-wing agenda. It doesn’t belong to you, it belongs to them, and only they are qualified to decide how much you are entitled to. How much speech, how much freedom, how many calories, what the choices are, what you will pay for this or that, whether a contract you made can be honored or ignored, what laws no longer apply, and what property you are entitled to keep.
Nothing you earn or own is yours, and what you do have is at their pleasure, including freedom.
These are the principles of the liberal democrats, the same arrogant principles of governance that have been on full display for the past 20 months in Washington, DC, and to a similar extent, right here in New Hampshire. But they can’t help it. It is who they are. And while you may not be thinking too much about it today, they will eventually get to something that matters to you because if left unchecked, they will continue on this path until they have found a way to control everything.
