In any good story of conquest the tyrants who rule the police state always have ‘loyalists.’ These are indigenous members of the conquered people who side with the oppressors in exchange-presumably–for less oppression. They are turn-coats, the worst variety of the sunshine patriot, or how about members of the Republican Main Street Partnership?
How about a Republican Main Street Partnership that has dropped the word ‘Republican.’
The left’s objection to even one tax dollar finding its way into the hands of a church is legion. It is (apparently) a matter of even greater concern that we might engage in tax policy that accidentally encourages others–by allowing them to keep more of their own money–to give some of it to a religious group.
Such is the current quandary, pressed into the arms of the New Hampshire Superior court judiciary; if a business owner is incentivized by the state to give their own money for a k-12scholarship to a non-profit that manages such scholarships, and some kid or their parents just happens to use their qualified scholarship award at a school run by a religious group, has the state shown an establishment of religion?
Every good New Hampshire Democrat knows that the best way to have an immediate impact on jobs and the economy is to increase the cost of doing business. Making it cost more to run a business acts like a tax on the business owner, and Democrats love taxing business.
Enter HB127, An act relative to the state hourly minimum rate.
Rep Tim Horrigan and admitted socialist Peter Sullivan (New Hampshire Democrats), are unsatisfied with the machinations of the Federal government in the value of labor relative to the task at hand and are certain that they know better, not just than their Federal master in D.C., but better than every employer and employee in the entire Granite State, what any hour of labor is (at minimum) worth.

Back in November we reported that despite meeting all the legal requirements the town of Henniker had cited Stephen Forster of Forster’s Christmas Tree Farm with the illegal use of his property.
Typically, when such nonsense erupts it is to either punish a landowner for some perceived slight, or to help an abutter (or the town) get something they want.

The Amherst New Hampshire Town Selectman are trying to use the state’s Right to Know Law to hide something. Town Administrator Jim O’Mara has been put on administrative leave and the selectman are refusing to answer any questions.
Calling it a personnel issue, selectmen refuse to comment on O’Mara’s status as a town employee. Bruce Bowler, selectmen chairman, said previously that private employee matters are protected under the state’s right to- know law, refusing to give details of O’Mara’s leave.

That includes not explaining if the leave is paid or unpaid.
No offense intended to the Amherst Selectman but seeing as you are paying or not paying him with tax dollars, that information is not personal. You can’t hide behind 91-a.
Reality thy name is payroll tax cut, or more to the point the absence of same. That’s right, the federal government will no longer be subsidizing your lifestyle. The “holiday” is over. They are taking back that which is theirs. And all of our paychecks are going down as a result.
Effective January 1st the payroll tax rises from 4.2% to 6.2%. That hits everyone. And there is a lesson to be learned here if liberals, and people who refuse to pay attention, pay attention. That 2% subsidy you just lost–that is what the Democrats call it when they don’t tax rich people, business owners, or oil companies, a subsidy–really is your money, just like it really does belong to everyone else who goes to work or runs a business or takes on investment risk.

I don’t have time to fisk the particulars yet but the ACLU and Barry Lynn of American’s United for the Separation of Church and State have filed a suit declaring the recently passed new Hampshire School Scholarship tax credit unconstitutional because it would (could) divert tax dollars to be spent at Religious schools.
Actually. .. It would allow business owners to keep more of what they earn from being tax dollars if they agree to offer scholarships out of their own pockets to students who might otherwise be prohibited from attending private schools.
So here’s a question. Shouldn’t (Rev.) Barry Lynn and the ACLU file a suit against everyone who ever gave money to the collection plate or donated it to a religious charity, organization, or group? After all, if they do that, they can’t spend it on gas (taxed), or tobacco (taxed) or pay their property taxes with it, so (technically) they have all diverted those potentially taxable dollars to a (so-called unconstitutional) religious purpose.

WMUR has a story about a radio poll gone wild. The Girard at Large program held an on-line poll seeking votes for Manchester New Hampshire person of the year; it attracted more than 44,000 responses complete with comments they thought were a bit over the top.
…on social media, the unofficial race turned ugly, with one author saying, “The only reason the cop is being nominated is because he was shot, not killed, while on the clock.”
Another writer used the word “pig” to reference another Manchester police officer who was killed in the line of duty. It was not the sort of dialogue Girard said he was expecting.
Wow. Edgy! And of course, no, not really, and the reporter must have sensed that. Why else would they call New Hampshire Democrat House Rep. Cynthia Chase for her thoughts on the story?
Mental illness is a moving target, but one that keeps getting bigger. Here in New Hampshire, if you Google Mental Illness, you will discover that it is getting bigger here as well. Mental illness is up, we are told. More patients are going unreported or untreated. And just in time for a Democrat Budget writing House and their spend then-tax-den mother (Governor Maggie Hassan) to ignore the delicate state of the economy, rising payroll taxes, unemployment, wage stagnation, and the cornucopia of looming federal burdens, cliffs, debt, and spending, and Obama care, to justify growing our own budget right here in the Granite State on top of all that.
Look,see!? Mental illness. It’s right there! We (politicians and government) are the only ones’ who can do something about that. We have to do something…

Fortunately, we have the cached version of her post so that her words will forever be documented on the world wide web.
