Magpul Will Be Leaving Colorado… Immediately. [Updated]

Today, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper signed a number of gun control bills into law.Magpul will be leaving Colorado as fast as they can

Magazine manufacturer Magpul warned the politicians that if they passed these laws they would have to leave and take their jobs and commerce (and taxes oh-my!) with them.  Magpul will be leaving pronto.

We have said all along that based on the legal problems and uncertainties in the bill, as well as general principle, we will have no choice but to leave if the Governor signs this into law. We will start our transition out of the state almost immediately, and we will prioritize moving magazine manufacturing operations first. We expect the first PMAGs to be made outside CO within 30 days of the signing, with the rest to follow in phases. We will likely become a multi-state operation as a result of this move, and not all locations have been selected. We have made some initial contacts and evaluated a list of new potential locations for additional manufacturing and the new company headquarters, and we will begin talks with various state representatives in earnest if the Governor indeed signs this legislation. Although we are agile for a company of our size, it is still a significant footprint, and we will perform this move in a manner that is best for the company and our employees.

The Colorado Democrats stood up for what they believed.  Magpul has done the same.

Someone will blame the snow. Bill O’Neil won the special election yesterday 297 – 260.  He lost by thirty-seven votes.  What was it I said yesterday? So How is The NH Democrats ‘New Civility’ Working Out?

So how is the New Hampshire  Democrats ‘New Civility’ Working Out?  Just ask Democrat Peter Sullivan… So the Democrat governor’s lackeys are writing down the names of reps who oppose her agenda.  Was that supposed to be part of that whole “New Civility” thing you lefties said you’d pile up on your donkeys and bring … Read more

Troopers Admit – They Just Want the Money

The New Hampshire Troopers Association and the New Hampshire Police Association agree.

Legalizing casino gambling wouldn’t endanger public safety but would in fact be a boon to law enforcement budgets, New Hampshire state police and police officers argued Monday.

No more crime than adding a large mall.  Troopers are stretched thinn.  There are even plea’s for concern over your loved ones waiting for help at the scene of an accident.  All because Maggie Hassan’s budget relies on 80 million dollars from a revenue source that does not yet exist?

So you people in New Hampshire, you better forget about any other problem gambling might bring with it because there is no other way to pay for more troopers.  Got it.

One more thing.

LP Is Awesome! No, Not Liquid Propane, the Libertarian Party. Or is it?

I saw this humorous graphic on facebook this morning.  I actually laughed out loud it was so absurd.  Then I went to the LP facbook page (Washington DC) to ensure it came from them, which it did.  I guess we could call it LP propaganda?   It’s a graphic designed to show us all how AWESOME Libertarians are.  They are pretty awesome, except when it comes to graphics like this one.

Libertarians are AWESOME!Now I’m assuming that the stuff in blue is lefty thought, those in red–are for the right, with the Libertarian party (on facebook at least) staking out a solid middle ground between the two, at least in this contrived configuration, and disavowing those issues they declare as legitimate for both sides–as defined by them–that are outside the lines defined for ‘Libertarians believe in.’

But when I look at this I don’t see awesome, all I see is  ignorance.   Case in point: Libertarians believe that people on the left believe in personal freedom?

Bwahahahahaha!

The wretched unfairness of White Privilege…

…is being addressed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, according to a short piece in the City Journal magazine entitled White Wristbands: Wisconsin Declares War on Caucasian Privilege.

WhitePrivilegeAwarenessInteresting.

Also interesting is that the Wisconsin Dept. of Public Instruction tries to explain the situation in an “Important Updated Message” on their website. In somewhat murky language, they conclude with a straightforward denial: “There is no wristband program in Wisconsin.” Instead, they say…

Calvin Coolidge—and Thomas Jefferson—come to Grafton, Part II

Jefferson
Jefferson: “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.” (But not in Grafton.)

Well then…where was I? Oh yes, I was talking about the Grafton town election we had last week.

Previous GraniteGrok postings explained what happened at the town deliberative meeting (see The Magnificent Small-Government Activists of Grafton, New Hampshire, and then Calvin Coolidge Comes to Grafton, Part One).

And then I left off in Part I at the eve of the election last Tuesday….

What Problem Will HB 135 (The Repeal of Stand Your Ground) Address?

HB 135 would not address any problem, unless justifying the fear-mongering and misinformation campaign of the anti-gun crowd is the goal. To that end there is a great editorial about H135 and the fear mongering of the left, in the union leader.  here’s a snippet. Testifying against the “stand your ground” legislation in 2011, Associate … Read more

A warning to the GOP….Grow or Die

NRA President, David Keene, hits the nail square on the head when he says that the Republican Party MUST change, if it plans to survive. He calls Rand Paul a “hero to grassroots Republicans” and John McCain an “aging former Presidential candidate of the old establishment”. Are you listening, Senator Ayotte?  You should (you were … Read more

Tuesday’s Special Election in Manchester – Bill O’Neil, the “Jackie Cilley” Democrat

NH Democrats fleece taxpayers againTurn out is all the Republicans need to win in Machester Ward 2 (Hills-9).  It is a special election.  GOP voters just need to show up in adequate numbers.  I’d like to try and motivate you if I can.

IBEW 2320 local union President Bill O’Neil, the Democrat in this New Hampshire House race, claims he should not be unfairly saddled with unpopular national issues of which he claims not to be  player.  Okay.  We’ll ignore the fact that the party he is running under does that all the time to their opponents and stick with what sticks to Bill.

Democrat Rep: Handgun Ban is Next

After the assault weapons ban, handguns are next.  That’s not just coming from some zany, paranoid, right wing kook like me. No, that’s coming from a Democrat crypto-fascist representative from Illinois. Don’t believe me? See for yourself:

Jason Mattera: “The assault weapons ban is only just the beginning?”

Democrat Rep. Jan Schakowsky (IL): ”Oh absolutely, I’m against handguns…”

And they go on.

Jason Mattera: “We’ll never get a handgun ban with the Second Amendment as stated.”

Democrat Rep. Jan Schakowsky (IL): “I don’t know, I don’t know that we can’t… I don’t think it’s precluded”

(h/t BlackQuillAndInk, Jason Mattera)

Exactly what Constitution did Rep. Jan Schakowsky swear an oath to protect?

Support ‘Stand Your Ground’ In New Hampshire [Updated]

[Updated] For those who are not interested in using the original petition site reported below (SignOn.org), I have created a separate petition on a different site.  I used the exact same language as the original.

New Hampshire Democrats have been doing their best to roll back, repeal, or undo anything and everything the last (Republican) legislature did.  The most recent effort is to repeal stand your ground (HB 135).  Stand your ground gives law abiding citizens the right to defend themselves, their friends, family, even total strangers, from a violent assault anywhere they have a right to be.

Democrats would rather you retreat “if you can,” presuming you have that option, are not responsible for the safety of your husband, wife, kids, friends, or a group of children, not all of whom may be able to retreat with you.

Bobby Jindal at CPAC

Quite different from the average CPAC speech, but he makes some very important points about where our focus is and where it should be.

Prager University – Calvin Coolidge

You can’t be a conservative and not like Calvin Coolidge.   He may be one of the best examples of how the Federal government and it’s chief executive ought to behave (with few and far between exceptions).  We would do well to find someone like him and soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dHj6iS8fM_s
