From the Desk of Representative William O’Brien

If you don’t think that State Government should grow at 5% a year while the economy is growing at 2% a year, resulting in a two-year 10.2% increase in state spending, $263 million in new taxes, $31 million in revenue overestimates, $7 million in cost downshifting to local property tax payers, the Governor raiding dedicated funds, and continued diversion of Highway Trust Funds away from the repair and construction of roads and bridges, ask your New Hampshire Democrat state representative the reason he or she does.

Not one Republican House member voted to return to the days of irresponsible, double-digit budget increases and accounting gimmicks, but 99% of voting Democrat representatives supported a budget that does just that.
