Y’all know how I feel about Government picking winners and losers. It should butt out. And if a company has placed itself in the loser category by mismanagement (with my only caveat being it is vital to a military or Constitutional mandate), let it BE a loser and disappear into History’s dust bin.

GrandFamilies Study Commission: Fourth Meeting
Today was that next meeting. A bit light on the attendance but hey, everybody’s busy and Christmas is coming up fast in the dashcam. Most of the meeting was spent in a presentation concerning child screening – quick or long assessments looking for issues. The premise is that the earlier problems are found, the faster … Read more
Notable Quote – NH State Rep Judy Aron (R-Sullivan County)
Concord, NH – New Hampshire State Representative Judy Aron (R-Sullivan 7) released the following statement regarding New Hampshire Democrats welcoming anti-Semite and anti-Israel Rep. Ilhan Omar with open arms: “New Hampshire Democrats have really gone too far, by bringing noted anti-Semite and opponent of Israel Rep. Ilhan Omar to New Hampshire, Democrats are showing how anti-Israel … Read more
Six Reasons Why Everybody Should Go on a Fitness Holiday at Least Once
A lot of people don’t associate travel and fitness in their minds, but the two can actually make perfect bedfellows. A fitness holiday is more than just a way to gain some muscle definition or shed a few pounds; it can also be a mentally transformative experience that allows you to push yourself and gain … Read more
Notable Quote – Dr. Bastiat
…At that point, no actions, no matter how drastic or ruthless, are off the table. Confronting and shaming people in public. Scaring the families of prominent conservatives. Arresting elderly nobodies like Roger Stone in SWAT raids in the middle of the night, with CNN along to broadcast it worldwide. It seems vicious, but hey, we’re … Read more
Quick Thought – Perhaps movie studios need gag rules in contracts for actors
I remember going to the very first Star Wars – I was an RA at BU during the summer and when it came out, my entire floor went to see it – great fun! I’ve watched most (but not all) over the years but haven’t watched the “latest ones”. Surprisingly enough, I was starting to … Read more
Quick Thought: Go ahead, scatter some loud tech support folks around your open office and see what happens
I ran across this piece at Fast Company and completely agreed with it (reformatted, emphasis mine). Want a happy employee? Give them an office New research into employee happiness and office planning confirms what anyone who has worked in an open office knows: Privacy trumps hip design. I know, I know. You just ordered a … Read more
I guess the Gilford School Board missed this one. Victimized by the NHSBA and the NH ACLU, I guess
“There is nothing in the law that requires schools to follow one practice or another. They have discretion.” Was it on bad advice from the NH School Board association? After all, the NHSBA thought that a mere political subdivision of the State (school board) had authorizing Legislation that gave it the Power (Government has Powers, … Read more
Data Point – Trump is now Beating Top Democrats in MI, PA, & WI
This is rather startling news! I’m betting that the DNC and it’s swarm of strategists are plotzing all over themselves:
Republican Messaging Problem – one proposed solution
Steve has a thoughtful post on Republican messaging – it’s a problem. And his post caught me square between the eyes as it is one heckova problem because he’s right: the GOP is losing. It’s that old age issue: what do you say to counter “FREE”? First and as a long term “thing”, get Conservatives … Read more
You’da thunk that the Union Leader would at least use Matt Mayberry’s picture, right?
Steve used pics of all THREE Matts running to put Pappas back in his kitchen. But the Union Leader decided to put Matt’s opponent’s picture in the article about Matt Mayberry. What schlubs!
The 12 Taxes of Christmas (courtesy of the NH Democrat Party) – Days 3 & 4
The third Tax of Christmas the Democrats gave to me…. A Road Usage Registration Fee Traveling on the snowy roads is difficult – now Democrats want to institute a new Road Usage Fee for when you register your car?! This is just absurd – last Christmas, Democrats tried to raise the tolls and now they … Read more
Palate Cleanser: Married 38 years – you think *I* know?
Yes, I chuckled because sometimes it CAN seem that way. Best is the “FINE!” retort – man, are you in deep sneakers! And the “I don’t care” said several times is a ‘tell’ that TMEW DOES care but I’m not going to find out how, over what, and when. I’ve been told I’ve above average … Read more
SO! NH State Rep, Nashua Alderman, and Berni-Bro Jan Schmidt is lying about us again, eh?
“I never heard an apology”
It is the common tactic and technique that Socialists will lie – the means justify the ends in politics. Anyone that has been reading GraniteGrok since the beginning of summer knows our battle with Jan Schmidt beginning with her lie that we were the cause of the four Merrimack Democrat NH State Reps getting police protection.
The 12 Taxes of Christmas (courtesy of the NH Democrat Party)
Heh! I’m a wee bit late on this but the NH GOP is doing a series on “Taxes of Christmas”. Very cute idea – and nicely done. Here’s the first two (in trying to play catch up): The first Tax of Christmas the Democrats gave to me….A Disastrous Ski Tax New Hampshire Democrats are actively … Read more
“The Sneaky Plan to Subvert the Electoral College for the Next Election”
That would be the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. The six+ minutes to watch this video is well worth your time: (H/T: Geek Press)
Blogline of the Day – I knew I was missing something describing the Left
From a discussion where a militant LGBT activist went all mental on a Conservative (“This deranged leftist and LGBT activist named Keaton Hill assaulted and threatened to kill @FJtheDeuce [Floyd Johnson II], a black conservative at Sacramento State. “) The masses of Social Justice Storm Troopers on Campus, and their divine Right of Kings approach to … Read more
I don’t remember “Impact of Slavery” as being a member of “High Crimes and Misdemeanors” for impeachment
Have I written a lot about Impeachment lately? No. Do I know WHY the Democrats want to impeach Trump? Sure – doesn’t everyone? The Democrats started this drum beat the day after he was elected – How DARE HE! WE should own that seat but because of that pesky Constitutional thingie about the 50 States … Read more
Transjacking – biological males taking over biological female athletics
2+2 = 5 “Lies Are Informing Public Policy” The Gilford School Board, as a result of one family’s complaints about their child suffering from gender dysphoria (I’m not going to use the Left’s language anymore if at all possible – you loose the debate right off the bat) and of the passage of NH SB263, … Read more
Palate Cleanser: So many definitions for LGBT…
Does this new one mean I’m guilty of “cultural appropriation” of the Politically Correct one? How could that be, though? The Left is CONSTANTLY changing their own definition of words and acronyms – so why can’t I? Or you? After all, they are trying to retrofit things to bolster their agenda – why SHOULDN’T we … Read more
