Another strike against Boutin, Stiles and other GOP Senators

abuseguiltyLast week I posted a blog about Governor Hassan treating innocent Granite Staters like drug abusers.  It’s only fair to call out those GOP Senators who sponsored this ridiculous invasion of privacy as well.  So here goes:  Boutin, Stiles, Obamacare Odell (luckily he’s retiring but remember he’s pushing Democrat Donor Jerry ‘knows’ Little in District 8), Bradley,  Carson, Larsen, D’Allesandro and ‘gas taxer’ Rausch (also thankfully retiring but backing Foley) along with Senator John Reagan (who sponsored the overreaching government hackery as a State Rep in 2012).  All of these people should be ashamed of themselves.

This bill will do nothing to stop drug dealers or drug addicts who already break the law but has the potential to hurt innocent people.  The fact that people’s personal health information is in a state database is egregious enough but they are assuming they all have the potential to be drug abusers or dealers.

Innocent Granite Staters to be treated like drug abusers by Hassan

hassannpr

On Wednesday, Governor Hassan touted a new program in New Hampshire that will collect personal information on certain prescription drug users and store it in a state-controlled database.  The “Prescription Drug Monitoring Program” will be put into place in an attempt to control the behavior of the small percentage of Granite Staters who are drug addicts.  Meanwhile, the personal and private healthcare data of law-abiding citizens will also be captured in this database. If you take certain drugs, Hassan thinks you may be a junky.

In yet another huge government overreach, which may actually violate HIPPAA laws, the Governor is pushing her failed left wing belief that she can somehow control the behavior of people.  Make no mistake; she isn’t the only one who pushed this.  It was apparently led by Republican Jeb Bradley a few years ago, passed in the Senate in 2012 and is now being put into action:

Little gets lots of support from out-of-district Bankers

bankers_in_bowler__2280843bAccording to Senate District 8 Republican candidate Jerry Little’s FEC filings, the majority of his support appears to be from his fellow bankers outside of the Senate district.  While it’s not really surprising since Little was a banking industry lobbyist for years, it shows how little support Little has from the grassroots inside of the district.  You know, those regular every day people who want someone to represent them.  Since Odell ceased representing them with his vote for Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion (just to name one horrible vote), it’s interesting that Odell is backing yet another candidate who never represented the people and actually lobbied against the people and for the banks.

HilLIARy doubles down on Benghazi b.s.

Bob Odell endorses Scott Brown – Does anyone care?

THEBIGLIEThe Scott Brown campaign sent out an announcement that retiring Republican Bob Odell endorsed him today.  Does anyone actually care?  Bob Odell is the squishy Republican from District 8 in New Hampshire that voted for Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion (which will bankrupt New Hampshire) and who is pushing banking lobbyist Jerry Little (a guy who is completely out-of-touch with Granite Staters) to replace him?  Clearly the guy knew when to quit because otherwise he probably would have lost his primary to Jp Marzullo who is an actual common sense Conservative.  Below is the full press release:

Shaheen makes time for ‘Nanny Staters’ yet still refuses to hold town halls

shaheenproggiesSenator Shaheen spoke today at the New Hampshire Progressive Summit in Henniker.  Interesting that she still refuses to hold town halls with actual constituents but finds time in her schedule to speak to a room filled with left wing loons who want to turn the ‘Live Free or Die’ state into a Nanny State.  All you have to do is read the descriptions for some of their workshops to see what type of event it is:

Mini-Workshop: “Not One More – What We All Can Do to Stem the Tide of Gun Violence” – This workshop is being run by the failed Mom’s Demand Action head Janet Groat of New Hampshire.  Of course, the Granite State doesn’t have a gun violence problem but then again, the astroturfing group of paid Moms pimped by Mayor Bloomberg aren’t really about ending gun violence; they are about gun control of law-abiding citizens.

“Live Free or Die” state or the nanny state? Sometimes it’s hard to tell.

John Sark..nanny
John Stark: Live Free or Die!         NH Dems & RINO Republicans: We’re all gonna die!
.
Every once and a while, you’ll hear somebody say that some particular movement or other to ban something somewhere in America "would never fly here in the Live Free or Die State." I’m almost positive one of the newsreaders on WMUR stated just that earlier this week in commenting on the story of lawmakers in Mississippi putting forth a bill banning obese people from restaurants in that state. And of course, when you learn the details, you can’t help but agree. "It could never happen here!" Check out the language in the Mississippi bill, as provided by a USA Today story:
House Bill No. 282, which was introduced this month, says: Any food establishment to which this section applies shall not be allowed to serve food to any person who is obese, based on criteria prescribed by the State Department of Health after consultation with the Mississippi Council on Obesity Prevention and Management established under Section 41-101-1 or its successor. The State Department of Health shall prepare written materials that describe and explain the criteria for determining whether a person is obese, and shall provide those materials to all food establishments to which this section applies. A food establishment shall be entitled to rely on the criteria for obesity in those written materials when determining whether or not it is allowed to serve food to any person.
The penalty? Again from USA Today:
The proposal would allow health inspectors to yank the permit from any restaurant that "repeatedly" feeds extremely overweight customers.
"Yeah, but Doug, the wags are right. That wouldn’t fly here in NH!" Really? Are you sure about that? What about when we consider the rise of walk-in medical care centers across America? While it’s not throwing fat people out of restaurants, NH isn’t exactly ready to welcome the latest innovation in personal health into our state without the state regulators’ stamp of approval, either. While you might think that opening a business in the "Live Free or Die" state would be easy, think again…

In like a lamb… Out like a lion (or is it pig?) Mitt Romney’s December of Discontent.

..lion lamb.Mitt Romney.lion & lamb

.
At December’s outset, things were looking good for the chiseled candidate. Money. Momentum. Large, enthusiastic crowds. A campaign operating like the proverbial well-oiled machine. A speech that garnered the attention and interest of more people than anything offered up by his rivals. A spotlight that was his alone to capture, free of the rest of the pack, save for the debates– a rather unique opportunity in the present contest so short of indivual moments. Yes indeed. For the Mitt Romney campaign entering the month of December, it was truly morning in America…
.
I first saw it during the history-making New England Patriots football game Saturday night– After what seems to be several months of steady, non-stop TV commercials for and by the numerous presidential candidates– all touting their qualifications and promises for what they’ll do as president, Mitt Romney’s newest ad lashing out against John McCain stood in stark contrast. Now, I’m a big boy, and don’t have anything against this sort of tactic– it is politics, after all– but you do have to wonder what it all means when the focus goes away from "Elect me because…" and instead shifts over to "Don’t vote for HIM because…" Is this switch on the part of the Romney campaign indicative of their concern over what might be happening in Iowa and here in NH? Is team Romney worried about their chances for victory in both states? In Iowa, it’s Mike Huckabee giving them a sudden run for their money while here in the Granite State, it’s John McCain.

The day after Christmas, Jill Zuckman, writing for the Chicago Tribune made the observation:

McCain Blogger Conference Call

John McCain
Republican candidate John McCain talks on phone (GG file photo)
.
Today, GraniteGrok was pleased to be able to participate in a Blogger Conference call with John McCain (Thanks Pat!). Once again, the Senator demonstrated, with his interaction between the varied bloggers and their questions, that he is not some automaton-like politician generating canned responses to carefully screened questions. Say what you will about him on issues over which people can have differences of opinion, you cannot take away from the fact that McCain is ready and eager to take on all comers on ANY subject. After spending time hearing and speaking with the Arizona Senator, you cannot help but conclude he is up to speed on matters both large and small. Beyond that, he has a quick sense of humor that is spontaneous and genuine– exposing the fact that he has a fast functioning intellect and is really listening to the speaker during the moment. Carefully scripted politicians are best advised to avoid any deviation from the discussion at hand, lest they get into hot water for saying something stupid (John Kerry’s "joke" about the correlation between poor academics and joining the military comes to mind as an example of this). McCain suffers no such affliction.
.
McCain took eleven questions before having to shut off his phone as his plane took off. Prior to the Q&A, he gave a report about his Thanksgiving trip to Iraq where he met with US troops, who are quite happy with the recent successes quite evident throughout that country, along with top leaders of the Iraqi government and US military and diplomatic officials. McCain, of the Democrats and the mainstream media and the new reality at present in Iraq, said
"How anyone can ignore the situation on the ground is beyond me."
While noting that there are still troublesome pockets of Al-Sadr’s militia in Bagdad and that Gen’l. Petraus predicts the squeeze might cause an uptick in violence in some areas as Al-Qaeda continues to get cornered and/ or pushed back, and there’s still lots of work to do, definite progress is being made. McCain cautioned that any drawback of troops must be dictated by facts on the ground, not timetables.
.
The bottom line is that McCain sounds as ready as a person could be to assume the role of Commander-In Chief. With his military backround and detailed understanding of both the strategy employed and the cost and sacrifices he knows the men and women of the US military shoulder, he comes to the campaign table a formidable force to be reckoned with.
.
BullDogPundit of AnkleBitingPundits has a nice summation of the conference call, including the question and answer portion, where he provides links to all the bloggers who participated.
.
This was the question I asked when it was my turn:
