Then again, we already know Obama has no regard for the Constitution and never has. I figure if he succeeds in creating his own Geheim Staatz Polizei that the Obamajugend won’t be far behind.

What makes all of this incredible to me is that he has gone out of his way to make sure that relatively small civil/criminal matters have devolved into crises he can exploit.

“…how to improve human capital”

We have heard the knashing of Progressive teeth with their usual wails: We must spend more money to fix Baltimore”!  The epitome of the Progressive / Socialist mantra – we must take more from those that have to give to those that have-not.  After all, these poor oppressed people are oppressed by everyone else – thus, we will force everyone else to care.

$130 million was spent – a first tranche.  Yet, what grabbed me was at the end – a few snippets to set it up first (emphasis mine, reformatted):

…The effort to revive Sandtown was massive. More than 1,000 homes were eventually renovated or built. Schools were bolstered. Education and health services were launched. But there were many obstacles along the way, according to Enterprise’s report. Some residents complained that the vision was too grand to execute. Others involved said the city’s bureaucracy stifled innovation.

The most significant problem, according to community organizers and the Enterprise report, was that new businesses and jobs never materialized. And as Baltimore’s decent-paying manufacturing jobs vanished — a problem shared by Detroit, Cleveland and other Rust Belt cities — there were fewer and fewer opportunities for Sandtown residents to find meaningful work.

One of the bones that was picked when Jack Kimball that was used to kick him out as NH GOP Chair was that he signed a petition so that a Libertarian would be able to get on the ballot.  They said that was helping the “enemy” of the GOP.  In a way, yes, it would have allowed more competition to run against the GOP candidate in that race. Words, I heard, were around that it was tantamount to endorsing that candidate which runs counter to the NH GOP By-Laws.  Which when carefully examined, did not reach the level of that particular by-law – but he was roundly excoriated by NH GOPpers and finally was forced out (and IMHO, on other trumped up make-ups).

And one of those people leading that charge later became the NH GOP Chair – Jennifer Horn.  And now she is front and center in yet another similar controversy with Steve Duprey.

First it was “A New Ice Age” back in the 70’s.  Then it became “Global Warming”, then “Climate Change” (i.e., “we’ll hedge our bet both ways”).  Now I’m starting to hear / see “Climate Disruption”.  Methinks that will be a really bad move.  Why?

Warming – slow, gradual process.  Change – more variable, ups and downs and more extreme than the connotation of “Warming”.  But Disruption?  Now THERE’S a word for you!

I knew that I had used that “Yamamoto” quote (guns, blades of grass) before and in trying to find it for this post, what was at the top was something just as good to contemplate a second time:

When I first read this at BusinessWeek (of all places!) after doing the show yesterday with our interview with NH State Senator Gary Lambert , it stopped me dead in my tracks (emphasis mine):

Why should the grassroots work & fight for NH GOP Leadership that double-crosses them ideologically?

OK, a bit of a clickbait title, but it works.  Here’s why:

• Walt Havenstein lost, in no small part, because he insulted pretty much all of the TEA Party base (re: Conservative, Libertarian) wing of the Party.  Then didn’t like being held accountable when asked to apologize.  Then reversed his position on Medicaid Expansion
• Scott Brown lost, in no small part, for angering the large Second Amendment wing of the Party, his boasting about being bipartisan (and in reality voting more & more with Democrats in the US Senate the longer he was there), and finally trying to out-abortion Jeanne Shaheen.  Yes, he completed a trifecta of trouble all by himself.

These two wanted to be part of the leadership of the NH GOP, election-wise.  Each was standing on stances totally contrary to the NH GOP Platform.  And then there is Chair Jennifer Horn that has publicly spouted about supporting small businesses – her trial against a small biz person starts soon (even though it looks like he had nothing to do with anything except he had to sue her because she tried to stiff him – and lost).  I’ve previously blogged NH State GOP Committeewoman Juliana Bergeron’s stance on gay marriage (to the point of beseeching the US Supreme Court of federalizing the status of marriage).  So much for “limited government” and the plank that says “One Man, One Woman”.

And now NH State GOP Committeeman Steve Duprey running for cover for his pro-abortion stance and financial support.  Again, completely contrary to the NH GOP Platform.  Same as Scott Brown.  And same as Democrat Jeanne Shaheen.  Could this be the reason why one hears calls for the NH GOP to go “social issues free” – because the Leadership is more like the Democrats than what they want us to believe?

What IS it with the NH GOP Leadership – thinking they are above the stated principles of the NH GOP??  Better yet, why does the Establishment GOPpers keep voting them in to represent the NH GOP if they don’t represent what the NH GOP says it does?   Is this “lawlessness” of another stripe?

“Never let a crisis go to waste” and certainly we are already seeing that coming out of the Baltimore riots (emphasis mine):

As noted here parenthetically, the president of the Baltimore City Council, Jack Young, apologized a day after calling the looters in his city “thugs,” suggesting that “misdirected youth” was a more appropriate label.

Yeah, once again we can’t call things the way they really are – the euphemism marketplace’s stock price has soared as the Political Correctness (aka, Cultural Marxism) industry has worked overtime to take words (and thus, the ideas and things they stand for) out of usage.  Consider it the slow moving thought police. I don’t care what color you are, if you act like a thug, you’re a thug.  If you act in ways counter to The Rule of Law, you’re a criminal and not “socially maladjusted”.

Sidenote: have you ever noticed that Political Correctness always seems to want to replace plain one or two syllable words with phrases with lots of syllables?  It’s like they go out of their way to cover over and sugar coat bad behavior and decisions with a bucket of letters so as to obfuscate the actual thing.
