“Commitments Kept” – a new PAC for Kelly Ayotte. Have I got a question for them!

This came in over the transom a bit ago and I forgot to post it up:

Commitments Kept New Hampshire Launches Grassroots Organization
Bringing Cutting-Edge Tactics and Technology to New Hampshire’s US Senate Race

Really – a “Grassroots” type of organization?  When I see or hear that, I think just ordinary Joes and Janes that just decide, a la De Tocqueville, that something has to be done and grabs a bunch of other voluntary folks like them in an ad hoc fashion to make it happen.

Umm, when you read WHO is behind this, are we seeing yet another bending of the common language so as to tip its definition upside down.

Bernie, now Maggie “The Red” Hassan: degrading the common language

There is no War on Women – at least here in the US (look to the Muslim countries to see how .  But politicians on the Left side of the aisle, especially as one grows more and more Socialist, they are much more apt to distort the language – it is what they do to hide their true intent.  After all, who ever thought that she’d she’d try to “nationalize” the hospitals in the State (re: MaggiCare) by “other words”?

But here is what she said in a campaign email fundraiser, trying to raise money off her loss in the NH Executive Council on the defunding Planned Parenthood. A snippet (emphasis mine):

Notable Quote – James Madison

In time of actual war, great discretionary powers are constantly given to the Executive Magistrate. Constant apprehension of War, has the same tendency to render the head too large for the body. A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defence against foreign danger, have been … Read more

Well, my post about Houston Mayor Annise Parker and the razing of two churches caught someone’s eyeballs

HoustonWell, my post about Houston Mayor Annise Parker and the razing of two churches caught someone’s eyeballs (which was here: Is lesbian Houston Mayor Annise Parker going after Christianity – again?).  Who’da thunk it – that a small state blog here in NH would attract the attention of a left-of-center political heavy weight from Houston (a city whose size is > NH)?   But it did:

This, from Socialist Bernie Sanders, caught my ear on Sunday’s This Week talking head show

Bernie SandersCertainly ole’ Bernie is tapping into something on the hard Left – proving what a lot of us on the Right have been saying for a while: the center of the Democrat Party is now outright Socialist.  And step by step, over the decades, they have been using the Law & Regulation stick to transform us into that utopia of theirs and away from our Constitutional roots. And another whack – I blame the Republican Party for not standing up and fighting hard enough to stop them.  But anyways, here’s what he said Sunday’s This Week with George Stephanopoulus and immediately saw the incoherence:

Absolutely we need a path to citizenship for undocumented workers. We need to take people out of the shadows.  What my consern is then was, and remains, is with these guest worker programs which you are reading about where you have folks in high tech industries getting fired while corporations are bringing in people from Russia and other countries into the United States to replace American workers to drive wages down.

My takeaways:

  • So, he is willing to reward those that have broke our laws from the get go.  Socialist governments break their own laws all the time when the end justifies the means.  Any even cursory of such countries can show how this develops – and how it ends (have you been watching Venezuela lately?).

The Donald – arbitraging GOP voters away from the Establishment

PantsDownYes, this tends to be a vocation with me lately – pointing out the why of the Republican officials, candidates, and Party are not all that welcome with a lot of Republican folks in the base.  And it is ALL self-induced!  Don’t do what you have promised, for years?  Decisions have consequences and with the New Media, there are MANY more eyes watching a whole lot more people and a whole lot conversations thanks to the ‘Net.  Repair_Man_Jack at RedState has another slant on the Donald phenomena: arbitrage (reformatted, emphasis mine):

If you ever attempt to manage anything complicated you will have to figure out what to do about risks. Risks can be roughly defined as things that could go wrong and give you a problem. Once they do go wrong, they become issues. Then you have a problem on your hands. The political leadership of the GOP has failed at risk management. They now have an issue on their hands; THE DONALD.

Yup one of the Republicans’ own making.  Inattention, stupendous hubris, and a wrong worldview of their customer voter base has created a nullity in the Right side of politics.  The media analogue is Fox News –

Any Republican running is better than the Democrat?

On Meet The Press this past Sunday, host Chuck Todd asked GOP Chair Reince Prebus about rumors that The Donald might skip out and run as a thir party candidate:

If you are going to run for the nomination of our private organization which is the Republican Party that it only makes sense that you at #1 agree the Republican would be better than a Democrat running on the other side and that you wouldn’t run as a third Party because I think a third party, at least a serious one on either side of the aisle, would be a death wish to both parties.

This statement really didn’t make much sense two ways:

“Hillary…would use force to repress religious teachings and practice.”

Hillary: Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”

From a piece: How We, as POWs, Responded to Communists Threatening Our Religious Liberty.  Now read the quote from Hillary above again, and then read the closing from that piece

This is why I feel so strongly about the First Amendment. I believe the First Amendment is now under attack. Recently Hillary Clinton gave a speech in which she insinuated, repeatedly, that many religious beliefs are outmoded because these beliefs are contrary to many objectives of her agenda.  Accordingly, she suggested that government will need to force religious leaders to change these ancient teachings to fit modern laws. Hillary is suggesting that, as president, she would use force to repress religious teachings and practice.

This is no better than the offer the Communists gave us. Asking the insurance company to pay means arranging for something which they believe is morally forbidden. We don’t need to accept this.

Catholic Church stands up against the gays (and Hillary) and for “deeply held beliefs”

Read my previous post with the question:

What WOULD you stand for – and for what would you drop down onto your knees and into submission?

Well, no one that has been following the issue will be surprised at this (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Catholic Diocese in North Dakota Severs All Ties With Boy Scouts Over Gay Adult Troop Leaders

The Catholic Diocese of Bismark, North Dakota, is “formally” severing its churches, schools, and other institutions from the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) because of the latter’s decision to allow openly homosexual adults and employees to work in the Boy Scouts.  The BSA’s executive committee voted to lift its century-old national restriction on “openly gay adult leaders and employees” on July 27.  The Catholic Diocese of Bismark, headed by Bishop David Kagan moved swiftly to disassociate itself from the now pro-gay BSA.

I am quite sure that there will be those that will label this as straight up bigotry, believing that “progress & dignity” should trump deeply held religious beliefs.

Lucianne pulls a “Drudge”

The Drudge Report is great at the juxtaposition of headlines – especially those that portray those the High and Mighty saying one thing.  And then putting another one showing what reality is like.  In this case were these two back to back at Lucianne:

There are only two words that describe this: Surrender or Collusion

From The Hill:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) says he will not allow a government shutdown this fall and has pledged to begin talks “at some point.”  McConnell on Tuesday said he is willing to negotiate with Democrats to solve the funding impasse, after refusing for weeks to participate in the budget summit they have been calling for.

“Let me say it again, no more government shutdowns,” he told reporters.  He added that he would find a way forward “through negotiations.”

Right.  He has already waved his white flag in name of the Republican Party.

Is lesbian Houston Mayor Annise Parker going after Christianity – again?

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Remember, she was the one that issued subpoenas for pastors’ sermons in case they had preached against homosexuality as sin because she saw them as the opposition to her updating of Houston’s anti-discrimination reg that would make it gays a protected class.

The city of Houston has issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over any sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city’s first openly lesbian mayor. And those ministers who fail to comply could be held in contempt of court.

(here, here, and here) Having lost in court for her ham-fistedness of ramming that regulation through AND forced to withdraw the subpoenas as she learned that Christians will stand up for their Rights, she (like Obama) is attacking them another way – she’s at it again through her city agencies and the power of eminent domain (emphasis mine, reformatted):

City of Houston Wants to Bulldoze One Black Church, Condemn Another

In a repulsive demonstration of hostility towards Christians, the City of Houston wants to bulldoze one church and condemn the property of another so they can build affordable housing and a public library.

I guess, Doug Scamman, social issues DO hurt Republicans; just ask NH GOP Committeeman Steve Duprey!

Steve DupreyYep, it certainly can.  Especially when those that use social issues against Republicans like Planned Parenthood and the other baby killers who have no problem in trivializing Life for both the taking of that life as well as with other political issues  And then other Republicans actually fund that activity as NH GOP Steve Duprey has done for years.  To wit:

…According to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, Planned Parenthood’s campaign spending in the 2014 elections included $4.2 million in outside spendingwhich it used nearly exclusively to support Democrats or oppose GOP candidates.  Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards said Monday’s vote showed the bill was “a political nonstarter.” Acknowledging that Republicans may continue the battle, she said: “This fight may not be over, but we’re ready for it.”  A Planned Parenthood ally, NARAL Pro-Choice America, said it would run TV ads this week attacking three GOP senators seeking re-election in 2016: Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Rob Portman of Ohio and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin.

Far be it for me to advocate on Ayotte’s behalf, but
