“Spank’em when they’re wrong but thank’em when they do right.” So yes, I have to be nice to NH Governor Chris Sununu (on a preliminary basis – the NH House hasn’t voted on SB272 yet but has passed the Senate) on this news:

NH Executive Council Hearing: Anne Edwards Nomination for Superior Court Judge Part 2
As promised, here is the second tranche of videos from the NH Executive Council that will vote to accept or deny NH Governor Chris Sununu’s nominee for a Superior Court Judgeship, Anne Edwards who has spent decade-plus working in the NH Attorney General’s office in the Elections Division. So here are a few more. Again, … Read more
Colebrook School District (SAU7) – Time To Cough Up Your District’s Card Catalog
Time got away from me – Life, elections, illnesses, and other and sundry reasons as to why I didn’t keep up on this. However, it’s time to restart this project and Colebrook needs to be prodded. Like with a number of other Districts, SAU7 Superintendent decided that to satisfy my RTK from October was to … Read more
Redux: “Conservatives Believe That The Best Form of Welfare Is A Job. Govt Thinks Otherwise.”
It was true back in 2011, and it is still true today. Conservatives believe in the honor and dignity in work. Progressive don’t believe in a hand-up and are willing to supply a hammock forever.
NH Executive Council Hearing: Anne Edwards Nomination for Superior Court Judge Part 1
An Executive Council (EC) seems to be a strictly NH “thing.” It is part of the Executive Branch and approves all contracts that are brought forward to them. The EC also has the duty to approve any nominations for senior posts within the Executive put forward by the Governor as well as those for judgeships.
The Size of the US Welfare State Has Exploded!
There’s still a problem here that isn’t going to clear itself out anytime soon. “The New York Times practically wet itself the other day noting that during COVID, the United States “built a European-style welfare state,” and isn’t it a tragedy that we gave it all up.”
Chris Sununu Presidential Poll Watch – Bonus Edition
Yeah, my plan is to save this kind of information for Monday’s but Conservative Treehouse just mentioned this CBS/YouGov poll and it had two surprising data elements to it.
NAEP 2022 US History and Civics Are In: “Revealing Low Confidence in Civics Knowledge”
Often called “The Nation’s Report Card” it measures various subjects like Arts, Civics, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Reading, Science, US History, and Writing. Given that we are political bloggers here at GraniteGrok, when this came in from the NH Department of Education, I took a look because the title of the email had this: NAEP releases … Read more
Quick Thought: Heh! Heh! And……..Heh!

Real Beer vs Bud Light and the Demands of the Authoritarian Human Rights Campaign
Remember, I don’t drink alcohol, but I do think these side-by-side images perfectly summarize what a real female is versus an ersatz one. The Human Rights Campaign, however – the largest and most well-funded LGBT authoritarian group – is warning Anheuser-Busch (maker of Bud Light) not to go wobbly or they will turn their own … Read more
Angelo Codevilla Nails the Entropy That Has Seeped Into the West
I grow more and more ashamed of my alma mater, Boston University, the more that the too-well-known airhead (otherwise known as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, AOC) lets loose with her Socialist mantras that bedevils her “degree” in economics and international relationship.
SCOTUS on Senate Ethics Complaint Against Justice Clarence Thomas: A Unanimous “Up Yours!”
An Update: Well, perhaps not quite that direct but certainly, within the “politically polite” language used in DC (aka “my friends on the other side of the aisle” as they are shivving each other), a 9-0 unanimous vote against acceding to the whims of an (allegedly) co-equal Branch of government.
Chris Sununu Presidential Poll Watch – Week of 5/1/23
Well, Chris Sununu had some good news in the RealClearPolitics polling – his polling doubled! But as in all things, context is absolutely necessary. It’s like the Greenies when they boast that the amount of electricity from Renewables has doubled.
The Skip & Tom Weight Challenge – Week 8
Not a great week for me – it was bound to happen as I kinda fell off the wagon. Didn’t help either that Grokster Mike came up and we went out to dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant here in the Lakes Region – El Jimador. So much for moderation! But, still over halfway there … Read more
Quick Thought: This is a SPLENDID Idea – Flipping the Left’s Linguistic Handcuffs
In a post that dealt more with Musk’s talking about a Swedish story about Transgender transitioning doesn’t lower the risk of suicide and that child sexual-organ mutilation is wrong, there was this:
Dylan Mulvaney’s Inner Trans-Authoritarianism Reveals Itself – Off With Your Head If You Call “He/Him/Prancing Dufus”
Bolder and stupider, this guy gets. Yes, that gay guy that has made millions from endorsements (for “celebrating 365 of womanhood”) from corporations seeking to up their ESG (Equity, Social, Governance) score.
Attacking SCOTUS Justice Clarence Thomas by Demanding a Democrat Spawned Code of Ethics
The Democrats hate him with a passion that is an order magnitude hotter than the surface of the Sun. They hated him when Joe Biden chaired the US Senate Judiciary Committee at the time and the heat has never stopped.
Democrat Deviancy / Degeneracy Watch: MN Transgender Legislator Puts in Legislation to Make Pedophilia Legal
The Left continues its Long March through our institutions, taking over values, norms, and standards, and turning them upside down and inside out. And they are relentless and I’m betting that they are even more enthused as they see their endgame coming into sight. Normal Americans have been under fire and beset 360 degrees by … Read more
NH Supreme Court Hearing – Manchester School District Transgender Lawsuit Hearing (and “Gandalf!”)
See if you can hear when “Gandalf” is used – an inside joke (heh!). Thursday was when the NH Supreme Court held the oral hearing in the Manchester School District case in which a mother caught the District lying (by omission) to her by not informing her that the District was aiding and abetting her … Read more
Quick Thought – So Another Prez Wannabee Throws His Hat Into The Ring
Another prez wannabee throws his hat into the ring and promptly does a one-point nose-dive into the floor. This is a great line: WHY?
