Has Jeanne Shaheen Had A Come To Jesus Moment on Taxes?

by Steve MacDonald

Medical Device Tax comingEighteen Democrat US Senators have sent a letter to Harry Reid requesting that the Medical Device tax portion of Obama-Care be delayed.

The letter does not say it directly, preferring to dance around the issue, but it is obvious that these 18 Democrats, New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen among them, believe the Medical Device tax will affect jobs, growth, and our ability to compete globally.

Now if we could just get Senator Shaheen, or any of them, to admit that this is true about every tax, followed by the natural extension of that thought, down to the root cause of taxation…

…Spending.

Spending leads to taxes.  Taxes affect jobs, growth, and our ability to compete globally, everywhere they occur.  The only way to remove that anchor from around any neck, is to spend less.

No, I don’t think they have it in them.

I’m sure some polling nerd informed her it was in her craven pol interest to do so; they never act on principal other than serve thyself.

selective “tax this, but not that….shows a rank lack of understanding in economics. Too many that get elected think more taxes equals more money….verusus tax revenues come from the “velocity” of economic acitivity… thereby reducing taxes means people spend more, thereby increasing the velocity of money and growing govt revenues….why is that so hard to understand for these people?
