Welcome to your June 9th, 2026 morning update.
We might have another example of Trump 4D chess, and I like saying that because that really pisses people off. They hate the idea that Mr. Trump may be playing everyone because he understands exactly how they’re going to respond to what he’s doing. So let’s get to it.
In a stunning move. Every single Senate Democrat except John Fetterman, plus seven Republican senators, voted against advancing the extension of the nation’s enhanced surveillance authorities under Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
This expires on June twelfth. That’s the end of this week. As of right now, it has not been reauthorized. Why?
They don’t like this guy, Bill Pulte. He’s some kind of, I don’t know, Trump super fan. And he has no qualifications, they say, to be the acting ODNI, the director of national intelligence. And so they’re holding their votes in resistance over something that Trump is on the record hating.
Here’s idiot Hypocrat Senator Mark Warner to whine about Bill Pulte.
Mark Warner has absolutely zero credibility on the subject. If you don’t recall, he entered the US Senate on the Obama wave in 2008. And I didn’t look too hard, but I can’t find any examples of him getting uppity about the Obama administration releasing private information about citizens, about releasing lists to activists.
So that they could then go and harass and intimidate Republican donors. There’s an awful lot we could go through here, but then we’d be talking about Mark Warner, and we’re not here to talk about Mark Warner.
FISA 702 was what the Obama administration used as an excuse to spy on the Trump campaign, which is illegal. It is Watergate on super steroids. They did more illegal things than Richard Nixon ever dreamed of, and yet they got away with it, sort of until recently, which is kind of the fear because not just Democrats, but Republicans helped support, aid, and abet the entire Steele dossier Russia-gate fake controversy.
For years, an awful lot of people, an awful lot of dirt. And Trump has said that Bill Pulte’s job is to go in there and to gut the intelligence community to remove all the weaponized Obama and Biden era folks who are embedded inside all of those departments. That’s what they don’t like. And they’re willing to give up FISA 702.
As retribution? Trump hates FISA 702. All right, to be fair, he’s on both sides of that, which means he’s working a scheme to get what he wants. He’s playing them, and they’re playing right into his hands. Will they continue to do it? I don’t know. They’re mad enough at him that they might.
The RINO Republicans are mad because their buddies keep losing primaries. The Democrats just hate him because they have to. That’s all they’ve got. And so now we have a situation where Mr. Trump could have tried to get rid of Section 702 on his own, but now
