Do Something that Actually Dissuades and Stops Killers

I am sympathetic with Ben Fordham’s call, in his 12/19 letter to the editor of The Citizen of Laconia (www.citizen.com), to “DO something“. We should do something that works. What we have been doing fails because it has been based on fantasy, not realism.

We have established “gun free zones” to protect children and others, but “gun free zones” only protect the killers and serve up unprotected victims.

Fordham apparently wonders why people want guns for protection since we have so much law enforcement, police, FBI, etc. If law enforcement is the answer, then why are there so many dead in Newtown? Newtown is evidence of the truth of the NRA claim, “when seconds count, the police are minutes away.”

CONCORD, N.H.—4RG Chairman Andrew Hemingway is calling for Democratic Gov. Candidate Maggie Hassan to drop out of her race for governor after she agreed that it was “a good answer” for Democrats to literally beat Republicans “with a bat … with your hands … [and] with your feet.”

Hassan, the former Majority Leader for the N.H. Senate, was asked at a Goffstown meeting “How do you plan to beat a Republican?” Democratic operative and Rep. Kevin Hodges, who introduced the candidate at the event, yelled out in reply, “You can beat ‘em with a bat, you can beat ‘em with your hands, you can beat ‘em with your feet.” Hassan was caught on video tape immediately responding, “That’s a good answer.” Please review the video here: http://youtu.be/V8zjC8NHlgI.

Later, when asked by the press about the comment, Hassan’s campaign manager Matthew Burgess replied that she was just “kidding” about beating other human beings with a bat as if the comment was just a joke.

Last night, I put this post up concerning the Occupiers bust of a May Day “general strike”; where there were a number of reports of violence (given their tacit acceptance among them of the “perpetually angry Anarchist” mobsters who respect, well, not many. In that post was this tubba of a ‘tude with a snare drum who thought it would be absolutely dandy to use a small female cop’s head as a drumstick:

WI Thugs I was just thinking back to all the loose talk from the left about ending the gun ban in the New Hampshire State House. How they imagined someone just unloading over testimony supporting same sex marriage–to use one example–kids getting cut down in the cross-fire. And how they fell over themselves trying to scare parents into keeping their children from ever visiting the place because it was now just too dangerous.

Then I look at the way the union run leftists in Wisconsin are acting. How they are storming the state house, climbing in through windows, and forcing people to flee for fear of their well being. These pro-union forces are pushing against state troopers trying to get past them. Maybe being let in by union cops. Just because they demand the ability to collectively bargain for benefits (not wages–they still have that privilege as far as I know.)

What is perhaps more instructive is that the left in New Hampshire supports them. I’d bet money you will not hear a peep in opposition to any of this from the state leadership of the democrat party. Nothing about State Senators running away like spoiled children. Nothing about the hate speech, the Hitler signs, the threats or the aggressive mob tactics and intimidation. They support that–and by their own rules support it through their silence.

So what of it?
