Joke: Three NH Democrats for Governor Walk Into A Debate…

Three NHDP stooges for Governor Maggie Hassan, Jackie Cilley, Bill Kennedy…all three of them want to raise your taxes.  But seriously folks….they do.  They all want to empower the state to take more of your money.  So what is there to debate? …How they disguise that desire.  But it is a distinction without a difference, or is that a difference without a distinction?

Whichever stooge you choose, Bill “No DGA if No Va-Jay-Jay” Kennedy, Maggie ‘Louisville Slugger’ Hassan (aka Bat Gurl), or Jackie “Tax and Spend us” Cilley, they all want to grow government right now, regardless of any economy, at your expense.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is the Democrat Parties Baghdad bobYou remember Baghdad Bob?  The US troops are advancing behind him and he’s acting like things are going well for the regime.  Just peachy.

That’s Debbie Wasserman Schultz.  She’s the Democrat Parties Baghdad Bob.

Yesterday she lied while lying about lying.  Today, she’s just doing her Baghdad Bob impression over Democrats creating their own distraction by first removing God from the platform (from the phrase…God given rights…) and then trying repeatedly to get a majority of the delegates to approve a motion to put that word (God) back (and Jerusalem, which they also removed and tried to put back.)

The end result is Democrats Booing God.

Upcoming Obama Portsmouth Visit Angers Parents -Schools Will Have To Close [Updated]

Obama visit to Portsmouth NH will cause schools to closePortsmouth has announced that it will cancel school on Friday to accommodate President Obama’s visit.  The presence of dear leader will clog up traffic, block roads, and result in building closures so the district has thrown in the towel.  They will have to make the day up In May.

This is not a decision in a vacuum.  When kids stay home adults have to rearrange their lives.  Work, appointments, the added cost for unplanned day care if they can’t change plans or skip work when Obama stops buy to campaign, it all adds up.  Not that Obama gives a damn.  His campaign isn’t going to pay for any of the other costs his campaign appearances force upon local tax-payers.  Campaign appearances….paid for by taxpayers.

Has anyone estimated how much the campaign stop will cost the city of Portsmouth?

Holder in Contempt

Eric Holder held in contempt The other ‘big’ story from yesterday was the House vote to hold Attorney General Eric “Guns” Holder in contempt of the House.  He was and is in contempt.

The left, lead by Nancy Pelosi, continued to spin it as a partisan political stunt, though coming from her that means nothing.  Democrats are committed to making everything “political” so that they can control it with legislation, or use it to construct narratives, or rhetoric.  And under no circumstances should they step aside in the face of corruption or incompetence–how could they that is how they govern.

So we get to play this game where Democrats lie and hope it all just goes away.

But the facts are not in dispute.

The Law Can Never Be Philanthropic

tipping the scalesThe law (justice) can never be philanthropic.  It cannot guarantee property of any kind to anyone because the law has no property to give.  The law does not create property.  The Law does not summon property out of thin air-where none previously existed.  The Law can only take from someone else what is theirs.

It therefore behooves those charged with writing and managing the law (and more importantly those who elect or appoint the stewards) to ensure that philanthropy is not the foundation of the States interest.   The only way to fulfill that interest is through the progressive accumulation of other people’s property under the cover of legalized plunder.  The only way for the law to be philanthropic is to legalize theft.

Where Has The Other Senator Ayotte Gone?

Obama’s war on coal is netting some unusual suspects as supporters.  New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte, who indicates that she has a history of preventing outside meddling with policy of this nature, voted against a resolution that would have overturned the EPA’s utility MACT rule.

Continuing New Hampshire’s tradition of protecting the state’s environment through commonsense policies, U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) announced today that she voted against a Senate measure that would weaken national Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) for power plants aimed at reducing emissions of toxic air pollutants such as mercury, arsenic and metals.

There are a lot of things that are bad for us, and even if you agree that the DC should do something, there are other factors to consider–unless you happen to be a stooge for the Democrat party and the Green movement in which case adding to the bureaucracy is always job number one.

This rule will add costs and threaten the coal industry, which just happens to be at the top of President Obama kill list.  It will probably result in job cuts to that sector, increase energy costs for everyone, and add more hoops and administrative costs, all borne by rate payers, in the midst of a stagnant economy, and for what?

Introducing Rep Kevin Hodges (D-Awesome Cool)

Ah, the arrogance of youth.  Not long ago it was Brian “I have an LSR to get minors off for getting busted for possession of alcohol” Poznanski who was the whelp–having then gotten himself busted as a minor in possession of alcohol in front of a house full of minors and his LSR subsequently pulled.  That was fun, and illegal, but so five months ago.  Now we have Kevin Hodges (Hillsborough7) who hasn’t done anything illegal that we know of, but based on a chance encounter documented below I think we can draw a pretty picture of Mr. Hodges.

I’m just guessing but I bet Kev-Bo is wicked sick when it comes to the general court, and he’ll probably tell you as much.  But when you look up his voting record, he’s really just another BORG wired into Norelli’s hive.  He’s a big spender (No spending caps HB 1522), wants to make sure he can tax you as much as he needs to after he spends your money (Killed CACR 26) he’s not interested in the constitutionality of the general courts activities (voted to ITL HB 1343), and he seems more than willing to let the facilities committee pass judgement on things of a decidedly constitutional nature like banning guns from places (voted to kill HB1693) even though when given the chance to ban them legislatively he voted against it. (HB 1654).  Afraid to vote for it, but you’ll let them paper push it into existence, I see how you are.  And I didn’t look, but I bet he’s against parental rights.  Most young healthy men his age are.

What attracted my interest in Kevin–if you are wondering–was a recent encounter between Mr. Hodges and a new voter, (She’ll be 18 before November) documented in a letter to the editor of the Goffstown News.

Defining Blue Dog Democrats

Once you have written over 1000 of these things, you forget some of the finer points you’ve made. Oh, I don’t mean on positions or policy. I’m a conservative. I base that stuff on a set of fixed standards. Say it 100 different ways but it is still based on the same core values. No, I’m referring to past rhetorical flourishes that strike me as amusing when I come across them. Case in point.

Paul Hodes – Lobbyist?

The Concord Monitor is reporting that Paul Hodes has started a business consultancy. This will have him back and forth to Washington DC for the purpose of connecting northern New England to Washington DC; a lateral move from his role as congressman when he was trying to sign New Hampshire away to Washington DC.

Two Congressmen And A Free Throw

HR 1 The US House just finished it’s work on HR1, cleaning up after democrats who in 2010 abrogated yet another  obligation when they found themselves incapable of writing the budget they really wanted right before an election.

The liberal-progressives wanted more spending but that was not politically advantageous.  And since the single driving-force behind all Democrat decisions is politics the budget got relegated to the back of the bus, where the electorate’s short attention spans were meant to forget that democrats were never fiscally conscious representatives–they just tried to play them on the campaign trail. 

But avoiding the high profile budget battle was more evidence that they had something to hide. The Democrat House majority was appropriately sedated and placed under observation, while the Senate saw minor adjustments but no change in leadership.  So the process of changing our spending ways would still have to go through a Democrat controlled Senate and across the desk of a President who thinks the words "spending cuts" are just a rhetorical flourish used to provide cover for more spending.

Obama’s budget is proof enough of that.

But Obama only proposes a budget.  The House is in charge of spending.  So the new Republican congress went to the back seat of the Hopey-changey bus and picked up the budget obligations abandoned by the 111th congress.  This wwas a free shot at changing the fiscal direction of the country before writing their own first official budget, which was not due until later in 2011.  It was a gimme, a free throw, but one that had to survive the democrat Senate and the Spender in Chief.

So how did it turn out?
