Holder in Contempt

Eric Holder held in contempt The other ‘big’ story from yesterday was the House vote to hold Attorney General Eric “Guns” Holder in contempt of the House.  He was and is in contempt.

The left, lead by Nancy Pelosi, continued to spin it as a partisan political stunt, though coming from her that means nothing.  Democrats are committed to making everything “political” so that they can control it with legislation, or use it to construct narratives, or rhetoric.  And under no circumstances should they step aside in the face of corruption or incompetence–how could they that is how they govern.

So we get to play this game where Democrats lie and hope it all just goes away.

But the facts are not in dispute.

DOJ lied directly to the House Committee.  They have obstructed the investigation at every opportunity.  They have provided a tiny fraction of the documents requested, with those provided being either irrelevant or so heavily redacted as to be illegible.    Holder’s many appearances have produced little of value as he appears before the committee simply to stonewall or contradict himself or others.

Hundred of people are dead.  Dead.  Border agent Brian Terry is dead.  Drug runners killed him with guns provided in secret by this administration.  Someone is responsible for that and Holder and the DOJ are hiding that from Congress.  And now the President has implicated himself with Holder and the DOJ by invoking Executive Privilege, which you do not get to use to cover up murder.

On that point, the House also passed a civil contempt vote on top of the criminal contempt vote and will now be able to hire Lawyers to investigate the application of Executive Privilege as well as (I suspect) civil charges made against Holder himself for his complicity.

Giddyup!
