National Media Theme: Voting Block Is Becoming Less White

Imagine a judicial nominee said ‘my experience as a white man makes me better than a Latina woman.’ Wouldn’t they have to withdraw? New racism is no better than old racism. —Newt Gingrich

The vote is in. Obama is still President. The Republican establishment got exactly what they wanted: Romney as a candidate; a losing candidate. And despite their tireless inane mantra during the primaries exclaiming, “Romney is the only guy who can beat Obama” So what be the post-game analysis now? Romney lost. Romney was never a conservative. He said he was a conservative but we all knew differently…and like so many others we voted for him because voting for Obama was not an alternative for us.

But the real story here is what the biased, liberal  in-the-bag lamestream media has to say about it the morning after:  America, because it is less white, voted for Obama.

Obama’s “Brown Shirts”

“I think when you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody.”—Barack Hussein Obama

This is beginning to be scary stuff. The President of the nation has us all on a socialist track; He is driving the country into chaos and disorder; too many people do not have jobs;  He is increasing the grasp of government into our daily lives more as each day passes.

So use your imagination here. Ronald Reagan told us early on that,

“Outside of its legitimate function, Government does nothing as well or as economically as the private sector of the economy. For three decades, we sought to solve the problems of unemployment through government planning. And the more the plans fail, the more the planners plan. The Government can’t control the economy without controlling people. And they know that when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. Somewhere a perversion has taken place. Our natural unalienable rights are now considered to be a dispensation of government. And Freedom has never been so fragile, so close to slipping from our grasp as it is at this moment.”

Despite Laws, Londonderry Council Postures Against LFGC

“”My door is always open-bring me your problems.” This is guaranteed to turn on every whiner, lackey and neurotic on the property.” —Robert F. Six

Demagoguery. Town officials told the Derry News that Town officials, police officials, Fish and Game Club members, and the public will be invited to a demonstration at the shooting range, to determine the effects that gunfire has on residents and golfers.

That has to be about the dumbest thing I have ever read. The obvious target are two ranges in question: The Londonderry Police Range, constructed in 2008; and the Londonderry Fish & Game Club Ranges, in existence for over 40 years.

All of this hullabaloo over range noise and never once has the ongoing conversation taken into account the miles of power line corridors frequently used for all sorts of activities such as OHRV use, Hiking, Hunting and yes, target shooting. Moreover, the 900-acre parcel also known as the Musquash Conservation Land, is frequented by those desiring to shoot.

Londonderry Country Club Seeks to Ban All Outdoor Shooting

“If you can keep playing tennis when somebody is shooting a gun down the street, that’s concentration.” —Serena Williams

DISCLOSURE: I am the current President of the Londonderry Fish & Game Club, Inc., in addition to being a writer for Granite Grok.

Jim Cates Pond at Londonderry Fish & Game Club, Inc. File: Rick Olson

Todays Edition of the Union Leader treated us to the pithy headline, Fairways Firing Ranges dont mix in Londonderry.  Interestingly enough, UL Correspondent April Guilmet, never contacted me for comment or input. She did today after the story was written and posted.

Bread and Circus: A cliché aptly suited in describing the Londonderry Town Council.

Council Chariman John Farrell (not the John Farrell of Country Pond Fish & Game) granted Londonderry Country Club Owner Tom Kimball his wish for the Council to hold a council meeting at the Golf Club. The purpose of which is that the council can hear the gunfire from the Londonderry Police Range..er, the Londonderry Fish and Game Club..wait? which is it, Tom? Ah! both.

Democratic National Convention:You Need An ID

The Gay Marriage Report Card

“I think that gay marriage should be between a man and a woman.” —Arnold Schwarzenegger

Roughly Sixty days out from national elections means people are beginning to take notice of what the politicians are saying about a whole host of issues fiscal and social. Chief among issues is the hot button of gay marriage.  Presently, if one is conservative and even mentions it, labels of bigotry and homophobia fly left and right.  So why the gay marriage report card? Simply because it is a political issue and like any other political issue, where rivers of cash and political capital flow, the net result of activism should have some standard of measure.

Thirteen states have legislatively accommodated same sex couples, thus, the notion (or suggestion) might follow for some that the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transsexual  (LGBT) community is a sizable constituency and the concepts, attitudes and conventions of Gay Marriage are catching on. But are they really gaining steam? Are more people really accepting Gay marriage on par with traditional marriage? Or are they being bullied into it?

Jerry Thibodeau for Executive Councilor, District 1

I  support and endorse Jerry Thibodeau for Executive Council. I speak as me alone and not as the voice of Granite Grok.I personally know Jerry and count him as a close personal friend.

Jerry is a native to the Granite State. He has raised a family, built a successful business and served the Manchester community on many levels. I, in particular,  worked closely with Jerry during his tenure as  chairman of the Manchester GOP City committee. Additionally, I knew Jerry as a board member for the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation, an organization very dear to me. Jerry served there with distinction as well. Jerry is now running for the Executive Council.  He is would make a great Councilor.

A Jail Sentence For Drinking Water

“All oppression creates a state of war.”  —Simone de Beauvoir

Gary Harrington Goes to Jail for Collecting Rain Water

On Wednesday, July 25 Skip featured a Guest Post from Ken Eyring. The central thesis of Mr. Eyring’s post was that the NH Water Sustainability Commission gave a low-profile public notice seeking input from the public regarding management of  Granite State water resources over the next 25 year period.

On Sunday July 29, Skip followed up with a response from House Democrat Representative Judith Spang  to Ken Eyring. As shown, Spang made several, “The state owns the water, not you,” implied assertions.”

Guest Post: Frank Szabo For Sheriff Of Hillsborough County

NO SUCH THING AS CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS

Frank Szabo is running for Sheriff of Hillsborough County.

“Constitutional Rights” is a fiction and misleading.  Our Rights are Natural Rights and are unalienable.  The Constitution is a document which defines the government.  It is a document of creation and it is a strict limit on the powers and authority of government.  It does not limit Citizens.  The Rights of Citizens specifically enumerated for protection in the Constitution were those deemed most important for the continuance ofLibertyand Freedom.  It was not a complete list, nor could it be.

Our government was created by the people, for the people.  After the American Revolution, the Citizens became the sovereigns.  As Sovereign Citizens, We The People created local and state governments to ensure peace and prosperity.  The state governments then created the federal government to further ensure those goals.  Nowhere in the formation documents (constitution) is there authority for the creature to direct – or control – its master.  Also, the federal government was never intended to have any direct contact with Citizens.

But You Are Still a “D”-Bag

douche bag:  (noun) “An individual who has an over-inflated sense of self worth, compounded by a low level of intellegence, behaving ridiculously in front of colleagues with no sense of how moronic he appears.”  —Urban Dictionary

What About Bob?

“The problem with smear campaigns is that too often they work.”   —Mark Shields

Robert M. Tarr, Gubernatorial Candidate?

Robert M. Tarr. Were it not for bad luck, he would have no luck at all.  As the Union Leader’s Mark Hayward pointed out in his Union Leader hatchet job on Bob Tarr,  he and his wife Pauline came to the Queen City in the late 1990’s, taking up residence at the New Horizons Shelter where they married thereafter.

He worked at a dollar store as a clerk, but was laid off when he was arrested on child molestation charges. Thereafter, his wife passed away and his children were placed in foster care. His only means of income now is a Social Security Disability.

Editorial Second Guessing And Blind Hypocrisy

“A liar begins with making falsehood appear like truth, and ends with making truth itself appear like falsehood.”   —William Shenstone

Oh No Guns....and magazines...and ammoThe Keene Sentinel , last Thursday, featured an editorial, positing the question, “Could an armed citizen have stopped the shooter?  But they never really answer the question and instead make an argument that we should move toward more gun control.

The opening paragraph states,

Anyone who has ever aimed and discharged a firearm knows that accuracy depends on a number of things — the eye of the shooter, the weapon in use, levels of training and experience. There’s also the matter of setting. Hitting a target at a shooting range, with pulse steady and trigger squeezed, is not the same as, say, taking down a gunman in a darkened theater that’s filled with tear gas and screaming, panic-stricken movie-goers.

And the Kool-Aid Drinking Gun Control Crowd Continues To Pile it On

“Anyone with a gun can go out and commit an act of terrorism, even without a political affiliation.” —Aaron McGruder

James Holmes entered a movie theater and started “throwing shots,” injuring fifty-eight people and killing twelve others.  I need not give a full narrative of the tragedy, given the ongoing coverage on television, radio, internet and print media.

In the aftermath of this tragedy, the usual crowd quickly stepped up to politicize the event, calling for stricter measures on firearms ownership. The same old reliable liberal crows now grandstanding and blustering in the congressional well. Leading the charge is none other than NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Marko Kloos: Why The Gun Is Civilization

Marko Kloos wrote this piece in March of 2007. It is worth sharing over and over. Please enjoy….

"Why The Gun Is Civilization" author, Marko Kloos

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that’s it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

Democrat Hypocrites And Union Hacks

“Hypocrisy is the homage vice pays to virtue.” —Francois de La Rochefoucauld It was an eventful week for city Democrats. Idiots And Cowards Who Complain About Gun Ranges

“Once you’re able to look like an idiot and be OK with it, it opens up your potential.” —Nicole Sullivan

Irascible Cowards are idiots willing to  spew their opinion as if it means something, is always a great source of amusement to me. And sometimes they do so anonymously. Such is the case with this Silly_E-mail I received this morning.

Such e-mails are instructive in helping the reader observe the depths of ignorance to which some have succumbed, in spite of  any tone, word usage or voice which might suggest otherwise.

The e-mail received is errant on two levels: factually and conceptually.  An argument could be made this particular entry is a waste of time…a, “suffering of fools,” if you will. I do think its necessary because tom-foolery like this is reaching epidemic proportions.  And if conversations with idiots are the order, then we need to present at least one intelligent side.

The mystery e-mailer refers to my previous entry, Anatomy Of Gun Range Neighbors, and she states,

Anatomy Of Gun Range Neighbors

“Complainers change their complaints, but they never reduce the amount of time spent in complaining.”  —Mason Cooley

Here we go again. Same old story. Same old lame complaints. The Monadnock Rod and Gun Club was established in 1947. This 65-year old club continues to do what it always has done: Operate shooting ranges. And, like any other Sporting Club, the amount and continuity of the sound of the shooting ambience, varies with time of season and number of events hosted at the club.In short, neighboring residents can reasonably expect to hear gunfire more during certain times of the year than other times of the year. And if they cannot live with that, then why on earth purchase a home in proximity to a shooting range?
